Brad Zerbo and Jaytriot close out The Audio Files season with a cinematic tribute to Cocoa Beach, the home of rockets, surfboards, and the Great American Restoration Tour. Broadcasting from the edge of liftoff, the duo blends 60 years of beach and space-inspired music, from Frankie Avalon's Beach Blanket Bingo to Bowie's Space Oddity and Flock of Seagulls' Space Age Love Song. They trace the strange but beautiful collision of 1960s surf culture and NASA's space program, weaving in punk, new wave, and glam rock detours along the way. Between stories of CanCon's “spacey” beach party, Brad's Jersey Shore nostalgia, and Jay's Ace Frehley memories, this episode feels like a warm night by the ocean, equal parts nostalgia, laughter, and heart. The finale ends on a high note with Sinatra's timeless Fly Me to the Moon, a song once played aboard Apollo 11 and now closing out the pre-GART celebration with style and soul.

Rebel Highway was a revival of American International Pictures created and produced by Lou Arkoff, the son of Samuel Z. Arkoff, and Debra Hill for the Showtime network in 1994. The concept was a 10-week series of 1950s "drive-in classic" B-movies remade "with a '90s edge".Over the next ten weeks, Jeff and Cheryl will be going over each of the made-for-cable TV movies that make up the Rebel Highway series.View the promo for Rebel Highway's original Showtime premiere here.Follow the American International Podcast on Letterboxd and Instagram @aip_pod and on Facebook at facebook.com/AmericanInternationalPodcast Get your American International Podcast merchandise at our store. Our open and close includes clips from the following films/trailers: How to Make a Monster (1958), The Brain That Wouldn't Die (1962), I Was a Teenage Werewolf (1957), High School Hellcats (1958), Beach Blanket Bingo (1965), The Wild Angels (1966), It Conquered the World (1956), The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971), and Female Jungle (1955)

This week the regular Regular Joe's, along with Brian “I know a guy“ Mix, travel to Louisville, Kentucky for Wonderfest, the long, running convention for modelers, both amateur and professional. The 35th annual show hosted an amazing range of entries from the basic to the extreme, including more renderings of the Creature from the Black Lagoon than you could count. There was also a broad selection of dealers, assuring that even the non-modelers had to fly home with something. They were joined there by many longtime friends, including. Steve Smith who talks about how he transitioned from attendee to vendor with his own custom offerings. Along the way they also sit down with Marta Kristen, Judy Robinson in the original Lost in Space 1965-1968. She shared memories of working on that series and, because Barry had to ask, playing Lorelei the mermaid in Beach Blanket Bingo (1965). A good time was had by all. Thanks for listening!
