When President Zachary Taylor suddenly died early in his presidency, some people thought he was secretly poisoned and his body was eventually exhumed for testing. The greater Washington DC region is a very diverse region. Many different races, ethnicities, denominations… and one awesome thing about it, we see a unity in advancing the Gospel together. Alyce Metallo and Howard Levine joined the show to talk about their special video project that celebrates God’s blessing over the Church in this region called The Blessing DMV.Alyce Metallo is a Washington DC native. She studied at the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at the Catholic University of America and earned a degree in Music Education and Piano from the College of Fine Arts at Howard University. She was accepted into the University of Madrid as an exchange student and subsequently did graduate work at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Santiago, Spain in a unique program for Spanish teachers.​Her love for foreign languages and cultures is paralleled with her gift of music and performance ministry. As an exchange student at the University of Madrid where her studies included Arabic, Hebrew and Portuguese; and she was a full-time minister of music in the DC area, Metallo balanced these two areas: music and languages, fully embracing the call on her life to minister in worship to the peoples of the world – all in need of the saving power of the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.Metallo began full-time music ministry as a worship leader at McLean Bible in 2009 and eventually became the Director of Creative Arts for two of their satellite campuses. She continues to live out her passions for team-building, leading worship, songwriting and producing and is currently the Director of Worship and Technical Arts at Capital Church in Vienna, VA and her faith is the heartbeat of her music and ministry.Howie Levin cultivates potential in leaders, connecting and mobilizing them for community transformation. He is serving as Executive Director for OneHeartDC, a collaboration of over 750 churches and nonprofits in the Metro Washington DC region. He also serves on several non-profit boards and has been involved redeeming the lives of refugees who have fled religious oppression. Previously he served as Pastor of Outreach, Church & Community Partnerships at McLean Bible Church.Before his community involvement, he spent 30 years in the electric power industry designing, building and operating nuclear generating stations. He was a founder or principal in several businesses focused on leadership and organization development and technical consulting. He has graduate degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Capital Bible Seminary.
