IN THIS EPISODE: Stories of “wild men”–people who live ferally in nature as any wild animal would do–have been a part of our myths and legends since the dawn of civilization. But they don't live just in ancient lore… according to the reports, they are being seen even today, despite the modern and technological world surrounding them. (Wild Men In The Hills) *** In 1974 the Smurl family began a 15-year period of terror by an unknown entity. (The Smurl Family Tormentors) *** Weirdo family member John Parish discovers something strange going on in his home's wood shop. (Woodworking Ghost) *** One of the problems with cryptids such as Bigfoot or Sasquatch is that they leave very little evidence behind of their existence. Their cousin the Yowie leaves even less evidence behind – on the verge of none. But that doesn't mean there isn't any evidence. IN THIS EPISODE: A creepy true story from Weirdo family member Courtney Rondeau. (It Was The Light That Woke Me) *** The Wendigo. It appears in numerous areas of pop culture, like the TV shows “Supernatural” and “The X Files”, the movie “Ravenous”, and games such as “Dungeons and Dragons”, along with video games like “Final Fantasy” and “Until Dawn”. But the Wendigo isn't just a creature from someone's imagination.(Wendigo) *** I'lll share a collection of some of the creepiest, most unexplainable nightmare stories, collected from a handful of Reddit users whose friends and family either mostly or completely dismiss as fantasy, and nobody would believe. At times these creepy stories sound too bizarre to be real, but every last person swears it really happened. (Why Won't Anyone Believe Me?) *** You've heard of the gunfight at the O.K Corral – but that was just men vs men. To get really exciting you need true stories of gunfights between men and extraterrestrials! (Alien Gun Fights) *** On Ocracoke Island is a small channel of water known as Teach's Hole, named after Edward Teach and where it is said he met his end – and his ghost still lingers. If Edward Teach doesn't sound familiar to you, it could be that you know him better as Blackbeard. (Blackbeard's Ghost) *** First, I'll share five stories of real-life horrors, reported by men on the battlefield. Not about the horrors of war, but about the supernatural monsters they found within it. Written by Michael McCabe. These South African radio show episodes are rarely heard outside of those who collect old time radio shows. Being a South African radio program, they will sometimes use language, phrases, and terms that we would see – especially today – as politically incorrect. So be forewarned about that – just in case it pops up in these stories. “Beyond Midnight” doesn't seem to have much information available about the show itself, and for the American ear it might sound extremely odd, as it does not seem to have an introduction to each episode – at least none that I've heard or been able to find. It just plops you in right at the beginning of the story with the characters already in their scenes and action already taking place. It's quite jarring. Much of this series is also very low quality, with lots of hiss, clicks, and even some episodes that are almost barely audible aside from large clicks in the recordings. I have tried to go in and digitally fix the audio whenever possible – using processing, noise reduction, limiting, normalization, etc., to even out the volume levels and try to bring up some of the less-distinguishable vocals. In many cases however, the audio was simply too degraded for me to make listenable and I've decided not to insert those episodes to spare you the audible torture.00:00:00.000 = INTRO00:03:36.496 = Mrs. Smiff00:31:56.041 = The Party01:03:08.436 = The Signalman01:31:29.557 = Something On His Mind02:00:43.073 = Tangled Way02:26:42.495 = Terror Killed Laughter02:56:13.214 = The Party03:27:24.175 = The Room03:56:44.716 = The Visits04:25:40.254 = 40th Birthday04:55:58.397 = Paxton's House 05:21:06.177 = HarrySOURCES AND ESSENTIAL WEB LINKS…This episode is sponsored by http://RadioArchives.comWeird Darkness Retro Radio theme by Storyblocks.= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = ="I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness." — John 12:46Find out how to escape eternal darkness at https://weirddarkness.com/eternaldarknessWeirdDarkness® - is a registered trademark. For this series I have tried to go in and digitally fix some of the audio – using processing, noise reduction, limiting, etc., to even out the volume levels and try to bring up some of the less-distinguishable vocals. In many cases the audio was simply too degraded for me to warrant even placing in this episode, hence the missing dates. Please SHARE this episode with someone who loves old time radio shows like you do!
