**Culture and Chaos: How Do We Stop the Black-on-Black Mass Shootings in Jackson?** On this episode of The Clay Edwards Show, Clay breaks down the tragic mass shooting at a trail ride in Jackson over the weekend. An 18-year-old woman, Jordan Worthy, was killed and five others were shot when a fight escalated into gunfire at Grant's Field. He places the incident in the context of a string of similar mass shootings across Mississippi in recent years — all tied to the same urban culture. Clay argues that these tragedies stem from deep cultural problems: chronically low impulse control, nonexistent conflict resolution skills, fatherless homes, the glorification of violence and “drill rap” lifestyles, and a refusal to directly confront the specific individuals and behaviors driving the chaos. He criticizes the community's planned “Stop the Gun Violence” march and rally at the Governor's Mansion, calling the location and framing disconnected from reality. The event, he says, should happen in the actual neighborhoods where the violence occurs — places like South Jackson, West Jackson, or specific violent gas stations and clubs — and should name the gang members, drug dealers, and repeat offenders instead of issuing vague calls for “peace” and “unity.” He contrasts this with school shootings, which he attributes to a different ideological pathology tied to liberal/Democrat politics and what he calls “rainbow supremacy.” Listener texts and chats fuel the conversation as Clay pushes back against excuses that blame everything except the culture itself. In hour two, Clay is joined by Andrew Gosser. They discuss the recent ownership change and menu overhaul at Highball Lanes in Fondren, which removed ribs, catfish, most wings, tacos, and certain liquors — moves instantly labeled racist and an attack on “the black dollar.” Clay and Andrew break down why the changes were really about crowd control, low-spending customers monopolizing lanes, safety concerns after prior shootings, and basic business decisions. They extend the conversation to broader patterns of black business ownership in Jackson, the difference between producing tangible value versus service-only models, and the habit of celebrating ventures simply because they are “black-owned” rather than evaluating results. The episode closes with reaction to President Trump's appearance on Meet the Press, including his sharp exchange with Kristen Welker and decision to walk off the set while calling out media bias, rigged elections, and the weaponization of government against citizens. Raw, unfiltered, no-sugar-added talk radio focused on the issues Jackson refuses to confront honestly.
In Nazi-occupied France, German officers repeatedly try to execute a young French woman by hanging — but each time, she returns alive. The woman becomes less a normal person than an allegorical embodiment of France/liberty/resistance: the Nazis can murder bodies, but they cannot kill the spirit they are fighting.Look for this podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio, Amazon Music, Pandora, TuneIn Radio, and other podcast apps.
It was meant to be a quiet night on a lake in northern Minnesota.Cold air. Still water. Darkness settling in. Nothing unusual—until something rose above the tree line at the far end of the bay. At first, it didn't register as anything familiar. It wasn't solid. It wasn't light. It moved wrong. And then it crossed the sky at impossible speed… stopping directly above him.In that moment, fear took over completely. Not panic—dread. The kind that erases logic and leaves only instinct. He wasn't religious. He didn't believe in monsters. But as he stared up at what hovered overhead, he became convinced his life was about to end. What happened next is something he still can't explain. His friend saw it from shore. His dogs reacted in terror. And when it finally disappeared, the fear didn't leave with it. Because some encounters don't end when the sky goes quiet—they follow you long after.#TrueGhostStories #ParanormalEncounter #LakeMonster #ShadowEntity #UnexplainedPhenomena #HighStrangeness #RealGhostStoriesOnline #DarkEncounters #TerrifyingExperience #UnknownEntity #Otherworldly Love real ghost stories? High above the Bedfordshire countryside stands the crumbling shell of St Mary's. A medieval church twisted by time, ritual, and whispers of evil. In 1963, villagers discovered the defiled remains of a woman exhumed from her grave, arranged in the nave for a black mass. What followed was a decades-long saga of satanic panic, grave desecration, phantom monks, and chilling apparitions. Today on Too Opinionated we visit with actor W. Earl Brown. Wes Craven was an early supporter, casting Earl in New Nightmare, A Vampire in Brooklyn and the role of "Kenny" in the classic, Scream. Two years after the success of Scream, Earl played "Warren", Cameron Diaz's mentally challenged brother, in There's Something About Mary. Among his many other film credits are the highly regarded films: Being John Malkovich, The Master, The Sessions , Wild , Black Mass, and the Netflix hits - The Highwaymen and The Unforgivable. On television, Earl has guest starred in many series, including: The Mandalorian, Luck, Seinfeld, Hacks, Yellowstone, American Horror Story, Justified, X-Files, Six Feet Under, and NYPD Blue. Among the TV movies he has been involved with, was the starring role in VH1's Meatloaf: To Hell and Back. He played "Tom Carlin" in ABC's highly acclaimed anthology series American Crime (2015) and "Teague Dixon" in HBO's True Detective. He is probably best known as "Dan Dority" in HBO's Deadwood. During that series' second season, the show's creator, David Milch, invited him to join the writing staff. In 2007, Earl earned a WGA nomination for writing on a drama series and a SAG nomination for best drama ensemble acting. Establishing himself on a show as critically lauded as Deadwood opened doors for other writing projects, including the Sony release, Bloodworth, which Earl wrote and produced. Earl can currently be seen as Wes Fox on Sheriff Country. In addition to his television and film work, Earl co-starred in Sony's The Last Of Us, 2013 Video Game Of The Year. He also writes music and records with Sacred Cowboys, an LA based Americana band. In 2018, he combined his love of music and film by co-creating the short film, Dad Band, which racked up 1.3 million views on YouTube.

Send us a textEvery other Wednesday, the HT Mafia brings the heat with a fresh blend of coon hunting tales, creepy encounters, and raw, unfiltered comedy — and this week's episode is no exception.⚠️ WARNING: Rated E for Explicit — listener discretion is advised! In this chilling episode, we head down to Northwest Tennessee for a gripping conversation with a local coon hunter who also happens to be the Fire Chief in his hometown. But this ain't your average hunt story — not by a long shot. Back in high school, he and a buddy experienced something in the woods that still haunts them to this day. It wasn't just strange... it was terrifying. After digging into the details, we're thinking there's a good chance they had a run in with something not quite human. That's right — this could be our first-ever confirmed run-in with a DOGMAN on CHC. But that's not all — he shares more eerie encounters that'll have you side-eyeing the tree line next time you're out with your hounds.

Actress and filmmaker Sarah Nicklin (THE BLACK MASS, POPEYE THE SLAYER MAN, SPLATTER DISCO, EXHUMED) joins Adam and Joe in the ArieScope studio to discuss her career journey. From how her young fandom for HOME IMPROVEMENT's Jonathan Taylor Thomas lead her to want to become an actress… to watching John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN and William Friedkin's THE EXORCIST as her first ever horror movies… to going to college at Emerson in Boston and launching her career in New England through whatever auditions she could find out about… to her discipline in always trying to better her craft despite having over 100 films and TV shows under her belt at this point in her career… to how she decompresses after finishing each role and more, Sarah's path is a perfect example of how never giving up can lead to continuing to work, work, work! Also, Dr. Arwen provides “Hollywood Therapy” for a listener looking for life hacks to improve their imperfect process. See Sarah in V/H/S HALLOWEEN coming this October!

When a man's reflection begins moving on its own, he realizes the mirror may be hiding something far more sinister than his own image.A man becomes unsettled when his reflection in a mirror begins to act independently—not mirroring his movements. At first he doubts it, but as the reflection starts making its own decisions, a chilling tension builds. The reflection's actions escalate into something malicious, forcing the man to confront the shocking realization that it may be a separate, sinister entity locked inside his mirror, threatening to take over. | #RetroRadio EP0462Join the DARKNESS SYNDICATE: https://weirddarkness.com/syndicateCHAPTERS & TIME STAMPS (All Times Approximate)…00:00:00.000 = Show Open00:01:30.028 = CBS Radio Mystery Theater, “Last Trip of Charter Boat Sally” (July 15, 1976)00:45:28.662 = The LineUp, “The Fur Flaunting Floozy” (September 26, 1951)01:11:10.917 = Macabre, “Man In The Mirror” (November 27, 1961) ***WD01:40:13.336 = A Man Called X, “Stolen Diamonds” (November 25, 1944) ***WD02:09:22.339 = Philip Marlowe, Pigeon's Blood” (June 11, 1949)02:39:04.386 = Dark Fantasy, “The Thing From The Darkness” (April 03, 1942) ***WD03:03:32.178 = The Black Mass, “Shidah and Kuziba” (October 16, 1973) ***WD03:17:27.600 = Beyond Midnight, “The Thing In The Cabin 105” (February 28, 1969) ***WD03:48:17.040 = Mind Webs, “The Great Slow Kings” and “Earthman Bearing Gifts” (March 18, 1979)04:16:28.423 = Ellery Queen Minute Mysteries, “Tell Tale Desk” (1939-1948) ***WD04:17:21.472 = CBS Radio Workshop, “The Case of the White Kitten” (July 13, 1956) ***WD04:46:27.123 = Chamber of Horrors, “The Waxwork” (ADU) ***WD05:12:44.258 = Mystery In The Air, “Lodger” (August 14, 1947)05:42:18.629 = Molle' Mystery Theater, “Angel Face” (December 20, 1946)06:11:40.235 = Mr. District Attorney, “Money Machine” (April 11, 1951) ***WD06:41:34.935 = Cisco Kid, “Mummy In The Desert” (April 21, 1953) ***WD07:08:31.836 = Murder at Midnight, “Mark of Cain” (September 06, 1946) ***WD07:34:01.625 = The Black Museum, “The Brick” (January 29, 1952) ***WD07:56:17.509 = Mysterious Traveler, “Death Has a Cold Breath” (March 29, 1949) ***WD08:21:44.340 = Mystery House, “Subrosa Justice” (April 07, 1946) ***WD08:45:41.038 = Night Beat, “Big John McMasters” (March 04, 1951) ***WD09:15:15.961 = CBC's Nightfall, “Volcano” (March 05, 1982) ***WD09:44:30.235 = Show Close(ADU) = Air Date Unknown(LQ) = Low Quality***WD = Remastered, edited, or cleaned up by Weird Darkness to make the episode more listenable. This episode is a first for Decoder Ring: a live show, recorded at the WBUR Festival in Boston, Massachusetts. Given the setting, we decided to take on a Boston-based cultural mystery: namely, the “Boston movie.” Beginning in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Hollywood has churned out a whole cycle of films drenched in Beantown's particularities, crimes, crops, class conflicts, and accents, from The Departed to The Town. Why does a city smaller than El Paso or Jacksonville loom so large in the cinematic imagination? Why does Boston have a movie subgenre all its own? What makes a Boston movie a Boston movie? With the help of three guests—film critic Ty Burr; Lisa Simmons, founder of the Roxbury International Film Festival; and Boston University linguist Danny Erker—we look closely at the history and heyday of the Boston movie: how The Friends of Eddie Coyle set the template, Good Will Hunting shoved the door wide open, and Mystic River ushered in an imperial phase. We discuss the importance of race and class to the Boston movie and the city itself, the role of homegrown movie stars like Ben Affleck and Mark Wahlberg, and, of course, the best and worst of Boston accents on film. This episode of Decoder Ring was produced by Willa Paskin and Max Freedman. Our team also includes Katie Shepherd and supervising producer Evan Chung. Merritt Jacob is Slate's Technical Director. If you have any cultural mysteries you want us to decode, please email us at DecoderRing@slate.com, or leave a message on our hotline at 347-460-7281.
