Fresh off of his first on the ground activation at E3, Joe King, social media manager for GameStop, shares the ups and downs of working conventions and of working in games community management. He also shares his strategy for engaging with games communities whether he is walking the convention floor for the first time or covering the event on social media from a remote location. Joe’s career path into community management started with his love of games and quickly accelerated when he got creative with his resume. His advice for those looking to get into community management or any other field stands out: Start small, with tangible projects that can level up your skills.  Joe and Patrick discuss: What Joe did to make his resume standout when he was applying for a community position at Gearbox Software Why numbers don’t matter when you’re starting out as a streamer How landing a “dream job” can feel simultaneously exciting and paralyzing Big Quotes Authentic content is a must for any community: “I really love [working with] influencers, because the really smart ones know that you shouldn’t get caught up in your numbers for a while. The Tangent - 110: Stephen With A 'V' The gang is finally all back together. Weeks will be discussed again, if there is one to talk about... Gary opens up yet again and with what else but Mass Effect: Andromeda. He has beaten the game, but has left a lot on the table. By the end of the game he found himself too overpowered. The writing and animations, however, were not so overpowered. And in a word: silly. He then moves on to Press 'X' To Not Die. It's a beautiful quick time event game. No spoilers here. A masterpiece in a different class. Check out his Let's Play of it. Gary also got the chance to play Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition and got to play as Duke Nukem'. All of the classiest of lines remain. Looks fantastic on ultra settings, but then again, why wouldn't it? Oh, and, he snuck in that he bought Witcher 3 for the PC. Ultra settings. It's his mantra at this point. Next up, Brian. Drawn To Death, a hero-based 3rd-person shooter. Takes place in a 13-year-old's notebook (hence the drawn. Get it?). It was free with PS Plus, and feels very unfinished. Justin's got Punch Club this week. A Justin game through and through. It's a arcade-style fighting game that is a mixture of a sports game and The Sims. Lastly, we talk more Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It's still great. For some of us... Ah, so finally, a week without hearing about Overwatch. It's lovely, isn't it? Well, anyway, Gary opens with Shadow Warrior and XCOM 2. I hear one of them goes well with a nice cold Belgian Sessions. Then again, what do I know? Brian follows with Oracle of Ages for the GBC. A classic Zelda game that he played on this thing called the GameBoy Advanced SP. Pretty archaic. It doesn't even have a headphone jack! There was also The Flame In The Flood. Justin doesn't have anything to report about EarthLock, sadly. However, he ends up giving Don't Starve a shot. With that also came Gears of War Judgment (without the 'e', of course) and Gary jumps in for that discussion. Anthony's up last and drops a bomb: he bought an Xbox One. We got Inside, Sunset Overdrive, and a game we all know (not so much) and love, Earthlock.
