Also das, was heute Portugal ist.

Read transcriptHoly Gallic mayhem, comic crusaders! This week on Play Comics, we're trading our Roman shields for DualShock controllers as we dive headfirst into the digital disaster that is Asterix & Obelix Kick Buttix for PS2 and Xbox – because apparently someone at Étranges Libellules thought the best way to honor René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo's beloved comic masterpiece was to trap our favorite mustachioed warriors in a 3D brawler with combat mechanics more repetitive than Obelix's “These Romans are crazy!” catchphrase. Released in 2003 as Asterix & Obelix XXL in Europe before getting the wonderfully ridiculous “Kick Buttix” rebrand for American audiences, this licensed adventure promised players the chance to experience authentic Gallic village life while punching approximately 70 Romans per level across 40 different stages of cartoon chaos. What it actually delivered was a gaming experience so mindlessly button-mashy that even Caesar would file a complaint with customer service about the repetitive gameplay loop. Joining us for this Roman-bashing bonanza is the incomparable Chas! Pangburn – a man who when he's not busy lettering the actual Asterix comics from the depths of his creative dungeon, brings his insider knowledge of what makes these characters tick both on the page and in polygonal form. His expertise in both the source material and the art of comic creation makes him the perfect guide through this particular journey from panel to PlayStation. So grab your magic potion and prepare for an episode that's more entertaining than actually grinding through the same three enemy types for hours on end – which, let's face it, isn't exactly setting the bar at Vercingétorix levels. Will this portable Gallic adventure redeem itself through sheer nostalgic charm and cartoon physics, or will it crash harder than a Roman chariot race gone wrong? Tune in to discover if this comic adaptation belongs in the Hall of Fame… or should be buried deeper than one of those references that you'll only catch if you read this in French! Learn such things as: Can a video game really handle the comedic timing that makes Asterix comics so brilliant? How do you translate cartoon physics into actual game mechanics without breaking the universe? Do magic potions even come with flavor options? And so much more! This was a picture-perfect Tuesday crossword by Gary Larson and Amy Ensz, marking their second collaboration. The theme was suitably surprising, and the rest of the puzzle equally excellent. Beim Teutates!
No episódio desta semana do Derivado Cast, comentamos duas grandes estreias que estão dominando as conversas no mundo das séries: O Eternauta, a nova superprodução da Netflix baseada na clássica HQ argentina, e o episódio 4 da aguardada segunda temporada de The Last of Us, na HBO Max.
Denne gang taler redaktionen om biograffilmene Sinners, Thunderbolts* og The Legend of Ochi, anden sæson af The Last of Us på Max, spillet Tempest Rising samt animationsminiserien Asterix & Obelix: Tvekampen på Netflix. Medvirkende: Jakob Stegelmann, Troels Møller, Christopher Andersen, Benjamin Stegelmann, Ida Rud og Regitze Heiberg.
Thunderbolts* Marvel has been pretty hit and miss of late, It's TV has been great but some of the films have felt a little under-cooked. We have had a new Captain America film which some thought flew too close to the sun so now it's time for the B-team lineup to take centre stage. Will this NEW film AVENGE the sacred timeline? Will it be a bolt of exciting lightning or more of a belated and low energy roll of thunder? Or...will it change it's title 4 days after release confusing the hell out of everyone?! All 4 of our team of loveable misfits are on board for this show and we each had a fair bit to say about Thunderbolts* especially that damn asterisk! Synopsis: Ensnared in a death trap, an unconventional team of antiheroes -- Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker -- embarks on a dangerous mission that forces them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. https://youtu.be/Agv9Rz7WydU A huge shout-out to the beautiful, broken complex, messy but loveable super screw-ups who join in with our moderated live-chat during the Twitch stream, each Tuesday night at 7:30pm AEDT.
