Prior to the 1980 season, Chuck Grall built a somewhat controversial race car dubbed the "Imposter Impala."Chuck battled in the loaded sportsman division field in Fox River Racing Club (FRRC) competition at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, Wisconsin.Listen in to episode # 3 as Chuck details the drama surrounding the construction of this fast hot rod!
I'm giving this cough until the end of the week and then I might need to go into the minute clinic and see about some 'scrips. It's gotten better, but I can't seem to shake it completely. Needless to say, it's "Workforce Wednesday" today, so let's get over that hump! Lots of stuff in the news this morning, including the death of legendary game show host - Wink Martindale, a deadly crash in Eau Claire yesterday, the search for a missing boater in the Dells continues, several programs are being cut in the Prairie du Chien school district, the Northern Lights might be visible tonight in Wisconsin, and a Kwik Trip in Kaukauna just sold a winning lottery ticket! In sports, a recap of last night's NBA play-in tournament games and a look ahead at tonight's schedule. Plus, the Brewers shutout the Tigers last night, and Damian Lillard is still recovering from the blood clots in his leg and will likely miss the entire first round of the playoffs. Elsewhere in sports, the game between the Red Sox & Rays last night got delayed by a very annoying sound, a tennis player accused her opponent of not wearing deodorant, and the scumbag who killed the Gaudreau brothers tried to have the charges dropped. Today is "National Banana Day" and eating them is certainly good for your health. So is exercise. But if you're not into spending a few hours at the gym, there's a new health hack that might be right up your alley. Yesterday, we talked about a police officer from Philly who saved a five year-old who managed to get on the roof of his house, and today it's a story about a dog that got trapped on the roof of a home. Plus a marathon pickleball game that raised a bunch of money for charity. Having trouble waking up? Feeling groggy & grouchy in the morning? There's a new "perfect" way to wake up, apparently. A receipt is going viral for a "bitching fee" that was added because the customer received an incorrect order. We continued to talk about Spring cleaning this morning…moving from the house to the garage. Did you see the Braves sideline reporter who asked a young lady for her phone number during a recent game? Well, the internet has BIG feelings about his actions. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a woman who married a river, a guy who called in a bomb threat hoax for a cruise ship, a woman who took a big shit in a beer cave, a guy in Scotland who had a LEGO piece stuck in his ear for 20 years, and a #FloridaWoman who tried selling human remains on Facebook marketplace. When you think of the dairy industry, it doesn't take long for people to identify the dairy farm family taking care of the land, the animals, and producing that top quality milk. You recognize the milk truck/semi that's transporting that milk. You obviously recognize the end products of that milk - cheese, yogurt, ice cream, etc. One element you may not think about is all the quality control measures that are in place to guarantee that you're getting safe, top quality milk to start with. Cheryl Harmon can tell you all about it. She's been a part of the milk testing quality team at Fox Valley Quality Control Lab in Kaukauna basically since it began. Harmon now oversees a lab staff that's using highly sophisticated testing to analyze every load of milk that travels from a FarmFirst dairy farm. Listen in as Cheryl explains the volume of testing the handle each day! It's not just about safety, it's also about quality. That matters to the dairy farms counting on quality premiums from their processing partners. Consumers - you should also listen to Cheryl's comments and frustration over antibiotic labeling in the grocery store. She sets the record straight - in Wisconsin NO MILK contains antibiotics. It's law, and Cheryl and her team enforce it.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Shana Hussin. She grew up in Wisconsin, and earned her dietetics degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1999. While very active throughout her entire lifetime, she struggled with weight gain in college, despite following conventional nutrition recommendations and exercising extensively. It took many years to figure out why she was so much bigger then, but the truth revealed itself when Shana discovered hormonal connections between weight gain, and eventually growing sick and fat. Shana has worked in the medical nutrition therapy field for 20 years. Like most dietitians, she recommended strategies to her clients for much of her career that failed them long-term, with little sustainable weight loss. This proved to be frustrating to both practitioner and client. Armed with new knowledge, an open mind, and simple healing concepts, she developed a 5- Step lifestyle improvement program for her clients, resulting in immediate and sustained success. Determined to share correct and effective concepts with as many as she could reach, she started writing. Shana now serves those wanting to learn her teachings with books, digital products, personalized virtual visits, group coaching, Facebook support groups, the Fast To Heal Stories podcast, and her popular 28-Day Finding Nutritional PEACE Group Challenges, which run every season. To learn more about or to sign up for any of her programs, visit fasttoheal.info. Shana and her husband have 3 awesome children and live in Kaukauna, WI. When she is able, she loves reading, running, traveling, sitting in the sunshine, walking with friends, and cheering her children on in whatever they are pursuing. In this episode, Shana opens the show by talking about her son's ulcerative colitis diagnosis. After months of symptoms, the doctors told Shana to prepare to remove her son's colon. Luckily, Shana sought help outside of the conventional medical system and healed her son without removing his organs. Then, Shana speaks about when she questioned her traditional training as a dietician. After getting sick, Shana started to heal herself by dialing back carbs, increasing healthy fats, and eating more protein. Tune in as we chat all about her new book, Fast To Heal: A 5-Step Guide to Achieving Nutritional PEACE and Reversing Insulin Resistance. [00:45] The Story Behind Shana's Son and His Ulcerative Colitis Diagnosis One day, Shana's son got diarrhea; they didn't think much of it. After weeks, he still had diarrhea. So, they went and got testing, but nothing was coming back. Three months after he started having symptoms, he had a colonoscopy done, and he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. He had lost a bunch of weight and couldn't keep up with sports at the age of eleven. Later, the doctor said Shana needed to get ready to take his colon out. However, Shana found experts outside of the conventional medicine that helped heal her son. [13:30] Why Shana Started To Question Her Dietician Training Shana was a dietician for ten years before she started questioning things. She told people to eat low fat, mostly plants and whole grains. Ten years in, Shana's clients weren't getting any better. After having three children, Shana started to develop her own health problems. Shana had four or five canker sores in her mouth, bloating, and a lack of energy. She knew something in her diet had to be the problem. It took a long time to figure out what was wrong. Shana started fasting, dialing back carbs, and increasing fats. After a few months, Shana was sleeping better, her bloating went away, and her canker sores vanished. [23:25] The Lessons That Shana Talks About In Her Book, Fast To Heal Get Fast To Heal: A 5-Step Guide to Achieving Nutritional PEACE and Reversing Insulin Resistance: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0874JXVP7/benazadi-20 P stands for Prepare. C stands for Clean, Challenge, and Change Make sure that your fast is clean and you're not stimulating insulin.
