High Vis - “Blending” from the 2022 album Blending on Dais. London-based band High Vis has its roots in the UK hardcore scene, but evolved into a less-shout-y post-punk vibe on their 2019 debut LP, No Sense No Feeling, and now explore a more new wave vibe on their sophomore album, Blending, which comes out September 9th via Dais Records. The album's title track has a softer sound, reminiscent of The Cult or late-era Ride. In a press release, frontman Graham Sayle explains the song's meaning. “It became about cloaking yourself in whatever you present to the world, but you're not defined by that. Just because I wear a trackie, it doesn't mean that I haven't read a book. The message of the album is you're not who you think you are,” he continues. “You're not your class background. Whatever it is, you're not that. Don't resign yourself to thinking you can't be this and you can't be that.” Read the full story at KEXP.orgSupport the show: https://www.kexp.org/donateSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
For this week's "Hot Takes" episode, the boys pulled multifaceted audio/visual artist Auragraph in for a quick session! An extremely skilled genre-bender and jack-of-all-trades, Carlos was a shoo-in for the show, and he kept us on our toes with his story of coming to vaporwave via 猫 シ Corp and Hiraeth Records, sharing production tips, a show-and-tell of his formidable synth collection, and musings on his experience working as a sound engineer on Netflix original show "Stranger Things". Having proven himself an adept composer via releases on Hiraeth, Auragraph went on to release, perform, and participate in livestream events put on by 100% Electronica, and he's recently made the move to Dais Records, hinting at upcoming new material during the episode. He's skilled, personable, and a friend to many, so he was a must-have guest for "Hot Takes"! During our two hours with Carlos, we discussed the differences between sampling and stealing and Carlos' background with various punk rock and hardcore bands in Texas, and he even caused Skelly's jaw to drop a time or two when discussing his studio setup. Carlos kept it clean and didn't offer us much in the way of hot takes, but we did get to touch on his experiences with digital design and virtual reality, joke a bit about punk rock, midwest emo, and shoegaze, and hear a story about moving a 300 lb. synthesizer for Vampire Weekend. Rewatch it if you missed our tête-à-tête with Auragraph! "Hot Takes" is a safe space for all opinions! Join the conversation at https://linktr.ee/hottakesvapor
Let's get you acquainted with the man behind DAIS Records, Gibby Miller. He also sang for some great punk/hardcore bands called Panic and The Trouble (both from Boston). We dive deep into growing up in the midwest, the legend of Makeoutclub.com (he was the founder!) and of course the Boston scene. Enjoy! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This is Draw The Line Radio Show with Jacki-E, presenting the best music from female producers and DJs. Helping me Draw The Line this week with her guest mix in the 2nd hour it's Kat Never, who's from Spain and is now based in Berlin. She grew up dancing to techno in the most popular clubs in the central area of Spain back in the early 2000s. After several years of being just a listener and a raver, she decided to make the jump to DJing very recently, powered by her love for music. She loves to create dark atmospheres based on her influences, which range from 80s and 90s synth sounds to new beat, EBM and of course, techno. Link for Kat Never:- Soundcloud:- https://soundcloud.com/kat_never In my mix in the first hour I'm playing tracks by BEC, Drunken Kong, Fatima Hajii, B4BRA and lots more. I'm also playing tracks from my debut EP, “Melodic Dreams” which is to be released by UPUK Records on 14th April. If you like the tracks we play, please support the artists by buying their music. Welcome Back to Stereo Dust. John and Keith, return to the studio to speak with Ryan Martin of Dais Records. In Episode 11, Part1, The guys discuss the intimate relationships ryan has fostered with the artists on the label, and how those connections played a major role in helping shape what the label is today. Get to know Ryan as a musician and a passionate cultivator of a diverse music scene. Ryan discusses some of Dais's incredible reissues, and how some of the releases would never been possible without family, friends, and fans collaborating on the effort. Take a behind the scenes glimpse into how the label operates and discover a rich history of intricacies behind the labels conception.“I was turned onto Dais Records several years ago by a good friend in a noisy pizza bar, over a skunked glass of Pisano. The labels catalog of music and unparalleled roster of artists has been a huge source of pleasure and musical inspiration ever since… Ryan agreeing to be on the show was not only cool as sh*t , but a chance to hopefully turn some folks onto Dais as well.” - JThanks for listening, enjoy! This week on Talking to Ghosts we have Stephanie Marlow! Stephanie is an independent PR professional and one of our most frequent contacts! She works with labels like The Flenser and Dais Records to promote new releases and tours for recents guests like: Elizabeth Colour Wheel, Jacob Bannon, and Drowse. We talked about a day in the life of a PR person, working with artists during a global pandemic, and why Road Burn Festival is so special. “At Home” is a version of the podcast that is being recorded and released during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please forgive our audio quality and the awkward conversation, I think you understand why it had to be this way. Talking to Ghosts is produced and recorded by Michael Kurt and Wes Mueller. Our fantastic 5-year cover art was made by Alicia Gaines (of the band Ganser, who have a new album available for pre-order!).

Gibby Miller and Ryan Martin In Conversation with Jenny NONO Tune in for a special broadcast celebrating the 10th anniversary of one of dublab’s favorite record labels, Dais Records. Founders, Gibby Miller and Ryan Martin joined Jenny NONO to discuss the beginnings of Dais, the artists they work with, and future plans. Dais Records, a label started in 2007 by Gibby Miller and Ryan Martin, operating out of both Los Angeles and Brooklyn, has spent the past decade releasing over one hundred releases, including introductory records by respected acts such as Cold Cave, Iceage, King Dude, Youth Code, Drew McDowall and Drab Majesty. To compliment its roster of genre-bending new artists, Dais Records has also curated reissues of previously unreleased and hard-to find rarities by 70’s performance art group COUM Transmissions, ambient minimalist Ragnar Grippe, French avant-garde vocalist Ghedalia Tazartes and industrial legends Hunting Lodge and Maurizio Bianchi. In Conversation is produced by dublab. Sound editing and theme music are by Matteah Baim. Due to rights reasons music from the original broadcast has been shortened. To hear more, please visit dublab.com.
This week on Talking to Ghosts we have SRSQ, who recently put out their project debut album on Dais Records. Talking to Ghosts is best found on our Official Website.
Ryan Martin and Gibby Miller run Dais Records, an experimental record label that specialises in adventurous new artists and releasing rare and resurrected recordings. Launched in 2007 with Throbbing Gristle legend Genesis P-Orridge's never before heard 1968 record, the label operates out of New York and Los Angeles. Ryan and Gibby joined The Void hosts Christina Rowatt and Michele Madden to discuss music, art, ridiculous cult films and running an independent label in the 21st century. Plus all the regular Madden-led tangents down rock and roll memory lane.
This week on the podcast we have Chicago industrial band HIDE. We talked about some of their early work together, playing a hotline-only fetish party, and some of their individual and collaborative art installations! HIDE have a new album out on Dais Records that you can check out here. For more episodes and other fun stuff, please check out the Talking to Ghosts official website.
