Miki and Budgie met a long time ago – was it after a Curve show?Miki with Red hair, Budgie with blonde they were a good Match!Struck up many enlightening conversations!!The lost evenings with Donald - hairdresser to the stars.Budgie drank in Heaven (Underneath the Arches) Picked up a date but didn't realise it, Not green, but pleasant, especially after a few Manhattans! We were all young then! Emotional Babies!Budgie and Lol love Miki's Memoir! Honest and Authentic - which it's hard to Be. Miki and Lol shared the same streets of London but never met.We walked everywhere - no phones - no way to contact Like a homing pigeon Budgie always found his way home Miki followed the tube stations - Roaming with Emma but no walkie-talkie in 5 years! Complex Band relationships suffer from outside pressure and from people with chisels. Lol empathises 100 % Miki's experience with Emma - as his with Robert. Will we all ever speak again? Is Morrissey bitter? Many memoirs end with courtroom drama. Malcom was a rotter says Lydon. Morrissey needs an editor says Lol! That's a complement says Miki – it's a proper Mills & Boon. Miki haunted by Mike Hedges' old house in France. Lol recalls a depressing Disintegration. But Pool table respite with Simon and the funny cue ball. Lol loved Miraval. The Slits loved being looked after at Ridge Farm Studios. Budgie met Viv again at a Berlin book festival - they had cake and tea and grown-up conversations. Miki is happy she had the band but happier in her new job - she's had the best of both worlds. Lol wanted to be present for his son and so no touring thru' his teens. We love writing as much as making music - Lol ran away at the destruction of the band. He came to America and America saved him.____‘God Bless America' – Irving Berlin. In this TMEP classic, Jon Langford taps the deep, dark bowels of punk rock to share his 1979 prediction that U2's career was "going nowhere"; how Lester Bangs declared the Mekons to be better than REO Speedwagon and Budgie...combined; and about being dissed at the A&M Records Christmas party. The subject of this month's commentary podcast blends post-punk with exotica, and tranquility with brutality. Yes, we're taking a look back at Feast, the first LP from Siouxsie & The Banshees side-project The Creatures. We're talking about the record's experimental song structures, its literary and cultural influences, and its handling of the themes and music adopted from Hawaii, where Siouxsie and Budgie wrote and recorded the record in early 1983.

This is a deep look at the creative forces that have left the world in the past year. We've included figures from all sorts of creative pursuits! Whether aged and iconic, after long illness or suddenly shocking, we feel the loss of those with whom we've shared something. In this case...it's music, something so integral to our lives. 2022 not only continued a dreary trend that we noticed a few years back, this year took it an unreal level. This is also an exercise in remembering what we had in those who've died. Their spirit and their music...So grab some Kleenex, and join us for as inclusive a memoriam as we can compose...We love our sponsors!!! Dr. Narco Longo, the mind behind Old World Florida on Youtube, joins me for a discussion about how his discovery began in his home state, piecing together the overlooked evidence that shows the legendary Atlantis may have existed in what is now Florida. we started with John Saxer and the numerous Stone Anchors he has cataloged around Tarpan Springs, FL. We discussed other evidences for supporting theories that show remnants of European, and Moorish cultures being present in the "New World" centuries before Columbus, like the Windover Farm Bog people, The Underwater graves off the coast of the Manisota Key, near Venice FL. Longo shared research showing a phonetic connection between these cultures considered unrelated by the mainstream, as well as the odd similarities between several tribes in North America with Muscovites of Russia, ie St. Petersburg. Finally we learned about St. Augustine's amazing architecture, Flagler College, once the Ponce De Leon Hotel in particular is a "Modern" Megalith and cast out of Coquina Stone, which could have been poured in place like cement. Back in the legends lounge again today with Budgie. Peter Clarke, better known as Budgie is a wonderful English Drummer best known for his drumming with Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Creatures. Join Budgie and myself as we talk about his early days with a busy cabaret band gigging around the North West of England onto his remarkable career as a drummer with a brilliantly unique style, snubbing more traditional 4 on the floor grooves for brilliantly busy & syncopated driving rhythms around the drums! We talk about his early days in Merseyside playing with The Spitfires, then onto Big In Japan alongside Jayne Casey, Ian Broudie and Holly Johnson and how they actually ended up supporting Budgies soon to be new band Siouxsie & The Banshees. Budgie talks about the recording of the Seminal Slits Album - Cut, and where the vast amount of influences came from, Especially the heavily reggae influences. We of course talk about Siouxsie & The Banshees and how the gig came about, alongside the banshees came The Creatures, featuring Siouxsie on vocals and Budgie given an incredible and (almost) free roll on Drums and Percussion, including Marimba and Vibraphone! This was such a fun hour, one i enjoyed hugely! Budgie as well as being a terrific drummer is also a wonderful human who really likes to talk about his career, this is a joy as a podcaster! Budgie, thank you so much for giving up your valuable time to speak to me from a snowy & cold Berlin! Huge thanks must go to former guest on the show and Budgie's friend Steve Grantley for putting us both in touch! Please subscribe and leave a review if you are enjoying these conversations.
