The Iowa State Cyclones are coming off the first double-digit win season in program history. They bring back several key contributors, including quarterback Rocco Becht. However, after losing four players in the first four rounds of the NFL Draft, Matt Campbell and the Cyclones will need some help from a few incoming transfers. Iowa St loses to impact running backs to the portal. A cornerback opts out. Iowa St quarterback Rocco Becht completed 63.5% of his passes with 8.1 yards per pass attempt. Their offense played well down the stretch as in their past three games averaging 34.3 points and 421 yards per game. Memphis is a poor defensive team by giving up 4.8 yards per run and big plays in the passing game. Tigers quarterback Seth Henigan is returning to Memphis next season. He started after all three years at the school. Henigan completed 66.4% of his passes with 8 yards per pass attempt. Memphis was a high-volume passing team that was efficient. The Cyclones rushed for nine yards. They allowed 123 yards rushing to the Longhorns with 281 yards passing on 33 attempts. Rocco Becht went 24 of 32 for 323 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He averaged 10.1 yards per pass attempt. Kansas St improved to 8-3 after their 31-27 road win at Kansas. The Wildcats gained 166 yards on the ground. They surrendered 234 yards rushing to the Jayhawks with 162 passing on 16 attempts. Kansas St had a +2-turnover margin.

With that, we take some time to reflect on our pre-season Iowa State v UNI prediction and how it completely went belly up on UNI's first offensive drive. We go over if we still feel Theo Day is still Iowa's QB1 as well as take a look at how good Rocco Becht and the offense looked v expectations on Saturday. Moving over to Iowa, we recap the Hawkeyes 24-14 win over Utah State. We're 48 hours out from Iowa State football's 2023 season opener against Northern Iowa, and we....still don't really know who these Cyclones are. The gambling suspensions have taken a huge hit on Matt Campbell's squad that was already coming off a rough 2022 campaign. The questions start under center between J.J.
