In this episode of Missing Frames, Shawn and returning guest John Mills tackle one of the most gloriously baffling cult films of the 1980s: Masters of the Universe.Technically speaking? It's not a good movie.Emotionally speaking? They kind of love it anyway.Together, Shawn and John dive deep into the strange, earnest, deeply endearing world of Cannon Films' live-action adaptation of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and a gloriously committed Frank Langella as Skeletor. Along the way, they unpack the film's bizarre production history, its unmistakable “Cannon Films energy,” and why the movie's sincerity and lack of cynicism make it weirdly lovable. They also discuss that odd moment when a "bad" movie ends up being far more endearing and memorable than a competent one.By the Power of Grayskull, this one has the power.

Broadcasting live from "The Hive" tech accelerator in Grand Forks, host Scott Hennen dives deep into the rapidly shifting landscape of national defense and cultural identity. This "America 250 Countdown" edition tackles the sobering reality of modern warfare—where $1,000 drones can take out million-dollar military assets—and explores the "Point Defense Battle Lab" newly unveiled at the Grand Forks Air Force Base.   The conversation shifts from the "tip of the spear" in North Dakota to the spiritual revival happening among Gen Z with guest Nick Hall. Later, Scott unpacks the psychological roots of "woke" ideology with Dr. John Mills, discussing how social justice has transformed from a push for fairness into a tool for identity politics. From impeachment talks in Minnesota to "fancy like" date nights at Applebee's, this episode covers the heavy, the holy, and the hopeful.   Standout Moments [00:01] The Death of Big Military Scott discusses his visit to the Grand Forks Air Force Base, explaining how the era of "big, heavy things" like massive planes is being replaced by the nanosecond precision of drone warfare.   [00:08] The Modern Billy Graham Evangelist Nick Hall joins the show to discuss the "Pack the Shack" event in Fargo, noting a historic shift where young men are now outpacing young women in religious passion.   [00:16] Radio Graffiti: The Gas Tax Holiday The phones open for "Radio Graffiti," where a listener proposes that North Dakota follow Indiana's lead by suspending the gas tax to provide relief for those living paycheck to paycheck.   [00:19] Impeaching the "St. Paul Cabal" A breakdown of the newly introduced impeachment articles against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison over allegations of corrupt conduct.   [00:32] Inside the Battle Lab Grand Sky founder Tom Sawyer explains how North Dakota was chosen to manage the world's drone defense procedures, moving at the "speed of necessity" to counter threats seen in Ukraine and Iran.   [00:36] Unpacking the Woke Ideology Dr. John Mills provides a scholarly critique of social justice, defining "woke" as a "binary logic" that splits society into oppressors and victims based on identity.   [00:41] Hypocrisy or Integrity? Scott responds to a listener's jab about Donald Trump using mail-in ballots while simultaneously criticizing the system's integrity.

It was a beautiful Thursday at Husky Stadium as the Washington Huskies worked through their fifth day of spring football. Though it was a shells-and-shorts practice, the Huskies got a lot accomplished. And there was a lot to talk about now that UW is through a third of their spring practices.  Some of it was through the new players - the freshmen and transfers - clearly getting more comfortable with their roles and the routines that they've become accustomed to. And some of it was players just beyond the point where they've shaken off the rust and are now getting past the 'welcome back' phase of camp and have created a platform for themselves by which they can push on to the next level in their development. The Dawgman guys - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - worked through most of the positions to give not just an idea of who stood out on the day but also who has really taken the biggest advantage of their opportunities. Some of them, like Quaid Carr, have been helped because the players that were expected to be around him aren't there. And others, like a trio of true freshmen in WR Jordan Clay, OL Kodi Greene, and DL Derek Colman-Brusa, have simply impressed by how quickly they've assimilated into the first teams and showed off their considerable talent. In fact, Kim asked Chris and Scott - if one of those three ended up a freshman All-American as John Mills did last year for Washington, who would it be? Clay, Greene, or Colman-Brusa? Along the way, Shawn and John discuss the film's remarkable cinematography, its influence on filmmakers from David Fincher to Michael Mann, and why Kurosawa's storytelling still feels strikingly modern more than sixty years later. They also reflect on Kurosawa's legacy in global cinema, how his work shaped everything from the American Western to Star Wars, and why High and Low deserves to be considered one of the greatest crime films ever made. HOSTSShawn EastridgeJohn Mills

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds in Pullman and Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund in Seattle - break down all the things they saw during Washington's historic 59-24 win in the Apple Cup Saturday night in Pullman. To start with, it was the hottest Apple Cup on record, with 81-degrees announced at kickoff. And the 59 points was the most Washington has ever scored in an Apple Cup, surpassing the 56 points they scored in 1991. It was also the first road win of the Jedd Fisch era on Montlake and the first road win for Washington since their 2023 win in Corvallis over Oregon State. Among the topics discussed during the 40-minute game recap: - Kim's take on the atmosphere compared to other Apple Cups at Martin Stadium, and also how beer sales impacted the crowd (if at all).- The adjustments Washington made over the course of the game to eventually push past the pesky Cougars in the fourth quarter- The offensive efficiency, starting with Demond Williams and the fact that they didn't have to punt for a second-straight game.- The defensive issues against WSU's passing game and especially the struggles that both Leroy Bryant and Deven Bryant had.- The momentum gained by the two big fourth-quarter turnovers, starting with Alex McLaughlin's pick-six and Dylan Robinson's punchout the very next play.- John Mills' monster pancake block to spring Jonah Coleman for an early touchdown.- The continued impressive performance by the offensive line, especially with how they were able to overcome and adjust to all the early games WSU's defensive line threw at them.- Final thoughts as the Huskies look ahead to hosting the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes. The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - stayed up way past their bedtimes to make sure they got their thoughts recorded after Washington's 38-21 win over the Colorado State Rams in the Huskies' season-opener Saturday night at Husky Stadium. The win, the first ever for quarterback Demond Williams Jr. as a starter, was also Washington's 21st-straight home win, a record they hope to build on next weekend against UC Davis. To start the show, the guys naturally gravitated toward the offensive side of the ball. It was there where Washington truly shined, going for 509 total yards, including 283 yards on the ground. That would have been the most yards on the ground last season too. Jonah Coleman almost broke his career mark as he ran 24 times for 177 yards and two scores. Williams added 68 yards on his own. The guys talked about the ability of the Huskies to be able to run, starting with that revamped offensive line, one that included a start from true freshman left guard John Mills. They also talked about Williams' winning performance. The sophomore signal caller was 18-24 for 226 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. After a quick break the talk turned the defense, a group that struggled out of the gate to contain CSU QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi and RB Jalen Dupree. But by the second half the Huskies' new look scheme and first-year defensive coordinator Ryan Walters had things dialed in, allowing only 105 total second-half yards, including minus-6 yards on the ground. There were a few standouts, including the play of the game by Makell Esteen, the stellar overall play of NAU transfer safety Alex McLaughlin, and Chris and Scott's defensive player of the game, Jacob Lane. The junior EDGE finished with five tackles, including two tackles for loss, and was the one guy in the first half that really seemed to taste some success while others along the front struggled a bit. Among the topics discussed: Was the offense bad? And if so, does that mean the defense was good? And how much can you actually take from a scrimmage where basically every single play was scripted?  The left guard battle between John Mills and Paki Finau. The receiver depth, including the two true frosh that led them in catches Saturday night (Dezmen Roebuck and Raiden Vines-Bright). The emergence of Kade Eldridge and bringing back the fullback. The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Scott Eklund - were at Washington's 13th fall practice early Friday morning, held inside the Dempsey due to rainy skies. With Jedd Fisch and the UW coaches now firmly in 'game week' mode, the practice was more of a one where the Huskies did their work in shoulder pads and shorts, working on cleaning things up and installing more things UW fans can expect to see Saturday night during their second 'mock game' of fall camp. They talked about what they saw on both sides of the line of scrimmage, but three main storylines on offense caught a lot of their attention. The first was the return of Denzel Boston was a focal point, as was the return of another receiver, Dezmen Roebuck, who missed Thursday's practice. The second storyline; how much will Roebuck play this year? Is he a certainly to burn his redshirt? And the other storyline that has certainly developed over the course of fall is the battle at left guard between Paki Finau and John Mills. The redshirt frosh had the job at the end of spring, but the true freshman Mills has continued to just get better and better by the practice to where it's now basically a dead heat between the two. The battle has been at a point now where the coaches alternate series between Finau and Mills with the first team. And an additional subplot; who makes up the full 8-man rotation? The guys feel good about the first six (the four constant starters plus Finau/Mills) but who are shoe-ins for those other two slots? All the competition is simply showing the Huskies are in a great spot heading into Saturday's mock game, even if today's practice was the 13th. And even if it did take place on a Friday.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. DawgmanRadio: Day 11 of Fall Camp saw UW get back to business as usual

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Chris Fetters - were at the east field Wednesday to watch Day 11 of fall camp for the Washington Huskies, and it felt a lot more like the normal give and take we've seen before Tuesday's practice that was dominated by the defense. That doesn't mean the defense didn't get their licks in; they did. They were able to force a few turnovers, something that has to please new Huskies DC Ryan Walters. Kim and Chris talked about the defense getting theirs while the offense got back in the swing of things mainly through their receivers - Raiden Vines-Bright, Rashid Williams, Omari Evans, and Audric Harris chief among them. And Decker DeGraaf once again showed the world why he should be taken seriously as a deeper threat despite being a tight end. And the battle at left guard between Paki Finau and true freshman John Mills has been fully joined as both were splitting time equally with the ones and twos. And defensively, even though the shoulder pads and shorts practice was done mostly in thud tempo during the team periods, there were still some touch sacks and activity around the line of scrimmage that made life tougher for Demond Williams and Kai Horton. Ephesians Prysock, Vincent Holmes, and Makell Esteen all came up with thefts today, Esteen's taking place during an install period when he was going up against Dash Beierly and the scout team. And Alex McLaughlin continues to establish himself as a safety to be reckoned with.  And special teams gets a note too, as Luke Dunne had a period where he skied some knuckle punts at Denzel Boston and Kevin Green, and the knuckle action definitely got the best of Green on at least one rep. DawgmanRadio: Lots to talk about after a packed Saturday scrimmage

A lot was going on Saturday night in Seattle, but for those die-hard Dawg fans who jonesing for some football? They were treated to a long scrimmage inside Husky Stadium, one that UW Head Coach Jedd Fisch lasted roughly 120 plays, as well as 20 or so special teams plays. The guys from Dawgman.com - Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund - were on hand to watch all of it from the beginning warmup to the practice-ending gassers, and they talked about their highlights during this 40-minute review podcast. The main talking point of the night was the apparent injury to right guard Geirean Hatchett. He was able to walk off the field with some help, and later came back putting weight on both feet without issue. Fisch told the assembled media after practice that they think there's nothing to be concerned about long-term for Geirean, so that's fantastic news. But that certainly put the guard rotation into a bit of a mix for the true freshmen - John Mills and Champ Taulealea - as well as redshirt freshman Paki Finau. Chris and Scott went through the players they thought stood out on the night on both sides of the ball, players that they both ended up agreeing on and also gave their thoughts on some of the linemen on both sides of the ball that had really good moments during a scrimmage that was, at times live to the ground but mostly 'thud' tempo. After a quick break they moved to the special teams, where fans got to see a lot of both Grady Gross kicking and Oregon transfer Luke Dunne punting. The guys also talked about their picks for who might end up being the main punt and kick returners for the Huskies based on what they saw. Chris rolled through the main (and very unofficial) offensive stats that he took during the scrimmage, and then the guys talked about the true frosh they expect will burn their redshirts because they've already shown that the coaches won't be able to keep them off the field. DawgmanRadio: Day 7 brings out more hitting as scrimmaging ramps up

The weather may not have been conducive to a productive practice, but that's why Washington has an indoor facility. So the Huskies moved inside on Thursday to the Dempsey to take part in Day 7 of fall camp. And while the first part of practice was very quiet and business-like, as soon as the horn sounded for that first team scrimmage period, the intensity went way up, as did the hitting. The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - broke down what they saw during a day where both the offense and defense got their licks in during a day where more scrimmaging took place than during the previous days. To start, the guys naturally went to the offensive side of the ball, focusing first on the offensive line. True frosh John Mills is getting more time at the ones and the battle between him and Paki Finau has truly been joined. There was some really good work by the tight ends today, especially USC transfer Kade Eldridge, and with Marcus Harris, Kevin Green, and Raiden Vines-Bright not available there were a couple receivers that really took advantage of their turns, namely Dezmen Roebuck and Justice Williams. After a quick break the guys then focus their attentions toward the defense. And who else could it be but freshman safety Rylon Dillard-Allen? Batman once again made waves by getting into it with another offensive lineman, this time it was Drew Azzopardi, after RDA unceremoniously dumped one of the receivers to the turf. He has shown to play on that razor's edge for a few days now, and even the NFL scouts on hand were paying attention to it. Another defensive back that stood out was NAU transfer Alex McLaughlin, whose day was highlighted by a TFL on Adam Mohammed and a pick where he had to display his cat-quick reflexes to bring in a pass that was wildly deflected to the middle of the field. Michigan transfer Hayden Moore moved from ILB to EDGE during spring and he's really starting to emerge as a player the coaches want a good look at this fall. With Zach Durfee unavailable today for some reason, it allowed Moore even more turns to prove his worth and he's definitely taking advantage of his opportunities. The guys also saw live punting for the first time all camp and they talked a little bit about what they saw from Oregon transfer Luke Dunne, what he's being asked to do by Special Teams Coordinator Chris Petrilli, and how well he pulled it off. Before the guys' final thoughts, Kim talked a bit about hoops, as the men had another media day with Danny Sprinkle, Quimari Peterson, Jacob Ognacevic, and Franck Kepnang. He relayed some of the things Sprinkle talked about (full quotes will be available later tonight), and he also provided a funny anecdote about Peterson and a potential new nickname. “China is surpassing American strength, whether it be naval forces or nuclear forces,” says retired U.S. Army Col. John Mills. His four-decade career has spanned key roles from the Cold War era to the War on Terror. At the Department of Defense, he directed cybersecurity policy.“I was brought into cyber in 2007 when the threat really was Russian cyber adventurism, but by 2012, from that point onward, it was all China—wasn't even close,” he says. “For every dollar Russia spent on misadventure, China spent 20.”In this episode, we dive into the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) influence globally and how it has created what Mills calls a “world on fire.”“All the playing pieces are kind of in place for [CCP leader Xi Jinping] to make his move around the world, to establish China as the dominant nation state, and everything else, all other nations, would be tributary vassal states, including the U.S.,” Mills says.“They are absolutely advancing a relentless onslaught of information warfare, through their media, through their wolf warriors, to advance a Chinese communist message that just drowns out everything else.”Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.

For years, Americans heard nothing but "Russia collusion, Russia collusion, Russia collusion," and in between, a little bit about pee tapes and prostitutes. Those who suspected the accusations against President Donald Trump were politically motivated were immediately treated by Democrats, by intelligence agencies, by the Barack Obama administration and by most in the mainstream media as little more than conspiracy theorists. But time marches on and the administration changes and the more documents are dumped by National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, the more it's evident: Barack Obama oversaw what can only be described as a "coup" against Team Trump. National security expert and best-selling author John Mills tells how all roads of this Gabbard-fueled investigation lead to Obama -- and what that means for the former president, as well as for America.

President Trump just made big news with the JFK files. Jesse Kelly gives his instant reaction and looks ahead at what's to come. This comes as the Democrat Party has moved far away from the Party of JFK, to the point where Chuck Schumer is now being called out. Jesse discusses this as well. Jesse also dives into President Trump's call with Vladimir Putin and breaks it down with Col. John Mills. Plus, big talk around elections and judges with Governor Scott Walker and William A. Jacobson.
