The conversation around the 2025 college football season has centered on a few players — mostly new starting quarterbacks — but there are plenty of potentially great players we're not talking about. Today, they're in the spotlight.(0:00-0:59) Intro(1:00-9:22) Players we're not talking about: Ryan Wingo, Cam Coleman(9:23-11:50) Story Time(11:51-17:23) Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed(17:24-24:36) How good can Oregon be this year?(24:37-31:38) Miami's Outlook, Rueben Bain Jr.(31:39-35:10) Jadan Baugh at Florida(35:11-36:18) Nic Anderson, LSU(36:19-39:42) Max Klare at Ohio State(39:43-40:55) Where does JP Pickles play?(40:56-44:03) Dylan Raiola at Nebraska(44:04-45:43) Who do we talk about the most?(45:44-46:11) Conclusion: Happy Memorial Day! Ari believes Auburn receiver Cam Coleman could be a breakout star. He also thinks Miami edge rusher Rueben Bain could be a force now that he's fully healthy. Andy thinks Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed has been lost in the shuffle with all the talk about new starting QBs in the SEC. Reed will be the leader of Team Chaos, so he could play a very important role this season. Andy and Ari agree that Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman is a huge key to the Ducks' portal reload. Texas travels to College Station, Texas to face Texas A&M at 6:30 Central on ABC this Saturday evening. Texas is favored by 6 with an over-under of 48, as of Monday morning, making for an implied final score of Texas 27, Texas A&M 21. Our computer model favors Texas by 8. Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview the game. Topics include: Texas's Quinn Ewers appears to be okay and available for Saturday after suffering a minor injury vs. Kentucky Ewers has plenty of offensive weapons at his disposal, including a matchup nightmare in Gunnar Helm at tight end. Texas A&M's pass rush of Nic Scourton and company will have a hard time getting to Ewers (or Arch Manning) thanks to an outstanding offensive line led by left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. Texas might have the country's best defense and is elite against the pass. Marcel Reed and company present a dual-threat challenge to Texas. Ryan Swope joins the show to go in-depth on A&M vs. Auburn and he gives his thoughts on the possibility of Rueben Owens returning to the field. Then, David and Nick talk about some of the most intriguing games in College Football this week. Aaron Torres joins to talk about keys to the matchup against Auburn, along with Marcel Reed's performance this season. Jim Turner finishes Hour 2 talking offensive line play.
Texas A&M travels to Auburn for a 6:30 Central kickoff; the game may be seen on the SEC Network or ESPN+. BetOnline favors Texas A&M by 2 1/2 with an over-under of 47 1/2, making for an implied final score of Texas A&M 25, Auburn 23. Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview the game. Topics include: Auburn is playing for bowl eligibility, while the Aggies are playing for an SEC title and a College Football Playoff berth. Texas A&M likes to run and Le'Veon Moss and Marcel Reed are the keys here. Auburn's rushing defense is one of the SEC's best. Auburn's offensive inconsistencies start with quarterback Peyton Thorne and an uneven workload for Jarqeuz Hunter. Auburn statistically has a two-yard-per-play edge over opponents, but much of that has come against overmatched opponents and the Tigers haven't shown consistency against better teams. Braden Gall and Steven Godfrey talk SEC football. In the future world of college football where parity exists and rules are totally different around rosters and players, can the SEC maintain it's total dominance of the sport? LSU and Texas A&M played a great game but why didn't LSU see Marcel Reed coming? What's going on at Kentucky, Ole Miss and Arkansas? Why is the coaching carousel so slow in 2024? Subscribe to the 440 YouTube page.
John Harris joins the show to discuss Marcel Reed vs. LSU and how the Quaterback room looks going forward. Coach G joins to talk the past few games, the team battleing injuries, and looks ahead to the rest of the schedule. Max Wright talks the gameday atmoshpere this past weekend against LSU, Marcel Reed's impact, and the matchup with South Carolina.
Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview Texas A&M's trip to South Carolina in a game that may be seen at 7:30 Eastern on ABC. Topics include: Texas A&M's Marcel Reed should be the quarterback going forward after a monster second half vs. LSU. Between Reed, Le'Veon Moss and others, the Aggies can really run the ball well. South Carolina's pass rush, with Kyle Kennard, Dylan Stewart and others, is elite. But Texas A&M has also been excellent in pass protection. The Gamecock offense has struggled, but quarterback LaNorris Sellers and Rocket Sanders have also done some good things at times of the season. South Carolina allows sacks on a whopping 15.3% of passing plays (that's an SEC worst). While the Aggies sack the quarterback just 6.4% of the time, they've got pass-rushing talents like Nick Scourton and Shemar Turner who can cause problems. The Gamecocks force turnovers an SEC-best 3.4% of the time, but the Aggies have the league's second-lowest turnover rate on offense (1.1%). LSU visits Texas A&M at 6:30 Central on ABC in one of the more important college football games of Week 9. Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview the matchups and give predictions. Topics include: Neither team has lost since close Week 1 defeats. LSU has won its only two road contests (Arkansas, South Carolina). LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is a sleeper candidate for SEC Player of the Year. The Tigers keep finding weapons to help Nussmeier. Aaron Anderson and Kyren Lacy are one of the league's best receiving duos, but CJ Daniels stepped up and led the Tigers in receiving in the win at Arkansas. Running back Caden Durham eclipsed 100 yards rushing at South Carolina. The Tigers' offensive line, headlined by future NFL tackles Emory Jones Jr. and Will Campbell, have allowed two sacks all season. But A&M has several studs on defense, led by Nick Scourton, Shemar Turner and Shemar Stewart, who can challenge LSU. Connor Weigman threw two interceptions vs. one touchdown at Mississippi State, but was good enough to win, plus, Marcel Reed is there as insurance. Le'Veon Moss continues to be one of the SEC's best runners for one of the country's best rushing attacks. LSU's Whit Weeks has led one of the league' most surprising defenses, one that sacks the quarterback on 9.9% of passing plays. However, the Aggies give up sacks just 4.0% of the time, the SEC's third-best rate.
