This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! Booming derricks, Jazz Age decadence, and a fortune gushing straight from the California earth—Greystone Mansion was born of 1920s oil money and built to dwarf every other residence in Beverly Hills. At 47,000 square feet of concrete, limestone, and raw ambition, the estate became the backdrop for glittering parties where Hollywood legends clinked glasses beneath crystal chandeliers. But opulence has a price, and the Doheny family soon paid in tragedy: a mysterious 1929 murder-suicide that still stains the marble halls. Nearly a century later, guests and film crews whisper about cold spots, shadow figures, and the echo of a single gunshot reverberating through empty corridors. In this episode, author and Greystone docent Clete Keith walks us through the mansion's turbulent history, spanning oil booms, scandal, and a lingering darkness that refuses to leave. Step past the wrought-iron gates and discover why Greystone's grandeur is matched only by its ghosts. If you enjoy our interviews and conversations about "The Dead," why not listen ad-free? Welcome back, boo's! Liz and Peyton are back again with two new topics that will make you wonder, but never worry, because we've got the world's best legal cannabis to keep things silly. But, seriously! Liz takes us to the opulent Greystone Manor (formerly known as the Doheny Mansion) to discuss tales of disembodied voices, reports of phantom smells, and ghosts that have no plans of leaving their swanky home in Beverly Hills, California. Peyton then discusses the idea of aliens in our oceans, specifically around Catalina Island. Are UFO's diving in and out of our oceans? Are there underwater alien bases? Is the military in on it? Does it go all the way to the top!?! Let's talk about it, and let's get a lil' stoned while we do so. Hit the bong and smoke-a-long! It's time to get high… Highly Haunted! Stay spooky, stoners!
In the first half, author Clete Keith delved into the hauntings at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, CA, where he worked for over 20 years. Numerous ghosts and apparitions have been seen on the site over the years. The ambitious oil man Edward Doheny purchased 429 acres in Beverly Hills, and part of this land became the site for the iconic Greystone Mansion built between 1927 and 1928, for Doheny's son Ned. "Greystone isn't just a house; it's a nexus of history, wealth, and mystery," Keith commented, adding that many Hollywood movies have been filmed at the 46,000-square-foot home, which contains some 55 rooms. In 1929, Ned was found dead at the mansion along with his friend and assistant Hugh Plunkett in what appeared to be a murder/suicide possibly related to the Teapot Dome scandal involving oil leases and political corruption. One visitor to the mansion, a psychically sensitive individual, saw and spoke with the ghost of a little girl named Emily. Another chilling story involved a worker who spotted a girl in white on the mansion's rooftop. He couldn't comprehend how she got up there, and he watched in shock as she jumped off the roof. He and various staff people looked for a body, but none was ever found. It's suspected the child Emily tragically died after an accidental fall from a window or the roof, Keith said. He also shared an encounter of a former staff member who saw a man in a smoking jacket with slicked-back hair in multiple rooms, who was possibly the ghost of Ned. Keith pointed out that Ned was wearing a smoking jacket when he died.------------In the latter half, author and spiritual teacher Sonja Grace discussed her profound experiences with spirit travel, as well as her healing modalities. She explained that spirit travel, which involves her angelic guides, allows her to explore the universe and historical events, including significant periods like Atlantis and Lemuria. "I literally feel like the wind and the cold," she noted, emphasizing the vivid sensations accompanying her travels. Her aim is to contribute to historical understanding, particularly regarding ancient civilizations, by sharing insights into their ceremonies and practices. Regarding Atlantis, she said the civilization acquired nuclear power in the form of an orb, but the technology eventually led to their destruction. As far as the construction of the pyramids in Egypt, she believes they were built at the time of Atlantis, with the assistance of a race of benevolent giants who gave blueprints for the buildings and had the ability to levitate huge stones.Touching on her new book, "The Journey Around the Medicine Wheel," she said her approach to healing and counseling combines her experiences as a Jungian therapist with her Native American spirituality. Grace detailed her long-distance healing practice, saying, "I'm basically energetically doing what a surgeon does." She recounted remarkable success stories, including healing her sister's detached retina, leading to the doctor's surprise at the diagnosis reversal. She also addressed the growing cancer crisis, advocating for a holistic approach that includes energetic healing and natural remedies like certain types of algae. She has concluded that cancer arises from parasitical infestation, and "if we get rid of the parasites, we get rid of the path of destruction."

My special guest tonight is Clete Keith who's here to discuss the paranormal activity experienced inside one of Beverly Hill's most beautiful mansions. Clete Keith never had thoughts of writing a book, let alone one on the paranormal. He was not someone totally convinced in the existence of ghosts or spiritual hauntings-until he started working at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. After twenty-two years and retirement looming, he woke up one night at three o'clock with the idea of writing a book about all the stories he has heard as well as his own experiences. Ghosts of Greystone - Beverly Hills is not just a collection of ghost stories, but a landmark exposé of eyewitness accounts detailing supernatural activity associated with this extraordinary location. Having been approached by many guests, patrons, and employees over the years, Keith has heard it all. "Two tourists walked up to me and asked how they could get inside the mansion for the tour. When I told them the interior is closed to the public one replied, 'Oh, because we saw a man in period clothing staring out the window and we thought he was part of the tour.'" This marks just one encounter of 237 paranormal stories documented at Greystone Mansion. Keith spent nearly three years interviewing and researching the supernatural activity at the estate. With 86 interviews, including guests of the park, City staff, police officers, movie crew personnel, and janitorial services, Ghosts of Greystone - Beverly Hills promises you a riveting history and ghostly encounters. For more than two decades, the mystery surrounding the strange events taking place in and around Greystone Mansion have been suppressed, ignored, and disbelieved... until now. "From a paranormal perspective, the estate is extremely active," warns author and investigator Clete Keith. "Until now, witnesses to unexplained phenomena have been reluctant to come forward fearing ridicule, as well as accusations that their experiences are nothing more than junk science. I believe it's time to open the lid on this Pandora's Box, one shrouded in secrecy, and finally reveal the mystery inside." Along with rare photographs and intriguing details about the landscape and architecture, Keith delves into the family of Ned and Lucy Doheny, including the fateful murder/suicide on the night of February 16, 1929, and other unfortunate deaths that surround these enigmatic grounds that may have stoked the paranormal fire of active.Follow Our Other ShowsFollow UFO WitnessesFollow Crime Watch WeeklyFollow Paranormal FearsFollow Seven: Disturbing Chronicle StoriesJoin our Patreon for ad-free listening and more bonus content.Follow us on Instagram @mysteriousradioFollow us on TikTok mysteriousradioTikTok Follow us on Twitter @mysteriousradio Follow us on Pinterest pinterest.com/mysteriousradio Like us on Facebook Facebook.com/mysteriousradio]

A very extended episode of #BTLRadioShow this week thanks to my very special guest, journalist and entertainment reporter turned author SCOTT HUVER discussing his true crime book, BEVERLY HILLS NOIR: CRIME, SIN & SCANDAL IN 90210, plus my exclusive interview with PAUL REISER & COLM MEANEY talking about their new film THE PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE. First up, is my exclusive interview with PAUL REISER and COLM MEANEY talking about THE PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE. Needless to say, there are plenty of laughs in the film and in our interview. These two bring so much experience and talent to the table and listening to them feed off of one another is a pure laugh-filled delight. Then, my friend and colleague, entertainment reporter/columnist turned author, SCOTT HUVER, joins me at the 30-minute mark of the show to discuss his new true crime book, BEVERLY HILLS NOIR: CRIME, SIN & SCANDAL IN 90210. Spanning almost a century of some notable crimes on the mean streets of 90210, there is something for everyone in this book and Scott leaves no stone unturned when dishing the dirty details, some of which were inspired by stories he covered in his days on the crime beat for the "Beverly Hills Courier". With chapters devoted to the Greystone Mansion murder-suicide, the infamous jewel thief Gerry Dennis, that notorious love triangle involving classic film star Joan Bennett and Walter Wanger, the shocking Van Cleef & Arpels robbery turned hostage situation in 1986, a "barroom brawl" at the Polo Lounge with a few notable Rat Packers, and more, there is something for everyone and Scott and I cover it all during our interview. http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

Released in 1980, Hangar 18 was arguably Hollywood's first UFO conspiracy movie. Its plot features many aspects of the real-life UFO enigma, including specific details from allegedly authentic top-secret UFO-related government documentation. But was it also a propaganda film for the Mormon church? (Mormons, Aliens, and Hangar 18) *** A struggling student is suddenly followed around campus by a strange man who has something very unusual to show him. (The Laughter of God) *** Rudolf Diesel is probably best known as the inventor of the engine which bears his name, but his puzzling and seemingly inexplicable disappearance on September 29, 1913 left behind a mystery nearly as enduring as the legacy of his engineering achievements. (Gone in the Night: The Extraordinary Life and Mysterious Disappearance of Rudolf Diesel) *** In 1960, the bodies of three women from the Chicago suburbs were discovered in Starved Rock State Park. The manhunt snared a confessed killer – and while he still remains in prison, he says he was framed. (The Starved Rock Murders) *** Author and Weird Darkness fan Patrick Hueller brings us an original story of fiction entitled, “2031: The Toys, They're Bleeding”. *** A young girl goes for a walk into the woods and suddenly finds she's not alone. (A Rather Strange Company) *** Though he was born into a Roman Catholic family, Adolfo Constanzo quickly fell into alternative religion, focusing on black magic and the occult…. but then he went even darker than that. (Catholic Boy, Drug Kingpin, Satanic Cult-Leader, and Serial Killer) *** In April 2007, a rash of sightings were reported of a strange creature prowling around the outskirts of Stafford, in the UK. Is it possible that there is finally evidence of werewolves in the 21st century? (Cannock Chase Werewolves) *** Hollywood has used the Greystone Mansion in numerous movies and TV shows… but would the actors be so comfortable filming there if they knew it's murderous and haunting history? (The Greystone Mansion Murders) *** Records indicate that the man known as the Comte de Saint Germain was born in the late 1600s/early 1700s, but reports by other well-known figures in history have told of a similar man that can be traced back to the time of Christ. This man was known by famous figures such as Casanova, Madame de Pampadour, Voltaire, King Louis XV, Catherine the Great, Anton Mesmer and many more. In the late 1800's, Los Angeles experienced a boom in their economy, heavily contributed to, by local oil companies. The Doheny family dominated the industry and controlled a substantial amount of wealth as a result of their success in the oil fields. But a scandal would rock the family and the community, and would lead to much speculation about where the truth really lies. On the night of February 16th, 1929, Lucy Doheny, wife of Ned Doheny (son of the oil baron Edward L. Doheny) heard a gunshot in her home – The Greystone Mansion – at about 11:30 PM. She called the family doctor, and only when he arrived did she go investigate the noise. She and the doctor made their way to the source of the noise, where they discovered Hugh Plunkett, Ned's childhood friend, distraught, holding a gun. When Plunkett saw the two, he ran into Ned's room, and another gunshot was heard. Mrs. Doheny and the family doctor rushed in to find both Ned and Plunkett dead on the ground. The official story in the papers the next day was that Plunkett let himself into the mansion (he had a key), had shot Ned, then himself. Case closed. Or was it? I believe it's time to open the lid on this Pandora's Box, one shrouded in secrecy, and finally reveal the mystery inside." Along with rare photographs and intriguing details about the landscape and architecture, Keith delves into the family of Ned and Lucy Doheny, including the fateful murder/suicide on the night of February 16, 1929, and other unfortunate deaths that surround these enigmatic grounds that may have stoked the paranormal fire of activity. "People from all over the world come to visit this iconic location. They want to peek behind the curtain and observe this ghostly estate for themselves. Ghosts of Greystone - Beverly Hills will allow them to do just that.".*** AND NOW ***The ‘X' Zone TV Channel on SimulTV - www.simultv.comThe ‘X' Zone TV Channel Radio Feed (Free - No Subscription Required) - https://www.spreaker.com/show/xztv-the-x-zone-tv-show-audio The ‘X' Chronicles Newspaper - www.xchroniclesnewspaper.com (Free)To contact Rob McConnell - misterx@xzoneradiotv.com

Happy Spooky Wednesday, one and all! It may be summertime out in the real world, but here in Left of Skeptic Land it is spooky season all year long! First up this week, Kala tells us about The Death Ship of Platte River, also known as The Wyoming Death Ship. This omen of doom has been seen multiple times along the Platte River between Torrington and Alcova, and allegedly every one who has spotted it has had a loved one pass away the very same day. Is this really a ghost ship, or a method of clairvoyant dreaming? It leads to quite the debate. And Brittany talks about the historic Greystone Mansion and Garden in Beverly Hills, CA. This building had a rough, sketchy start when less than a year after it was built, two people died within its walls. Was it part of a giant government cover-up? Was it two lovers who couldn't handle keeping their feelings a secret any longer? Was it a jealous wife caught in a love triangle? We'll never know, and because we'll never know, it seems the ghosts will never rest. This now public park and famous location for movie and television filming is haunted with phantom gunshots, strange noises, and shadowy figures. And as a bonus, it's also a location for Gilmore Girls, so you really can't go wrong. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/leftofskeptic/support

The heir to one of the great financial empires, Edward "Ned" Doheny, Jr., the man who owned the house, was dead. For decades, visitors and staff have claimed that paranormal experiences have occurred at the Greystone. In 1929, the son of oil magnate Edward Doheny was found dead beside his secretary in an apparent murder-suicide. The news exploded onto the papers for three days before the district attorney canceled the inquest and closed the case. When detectives decided there had been foul play, they were silenced, leaving everyone to wonder what truly went on that night at the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills.Sources:Columbia, David Patrick. “The Continuing Mystery of The Greystone Mansion Murders.” New York Social Diary. February 16th: Greystone Mansion Murder (1929) With money and power you can sweep a lot of things under the rug. On February 16th 1929 a mysterious crime took place that, even today, has many wondering what really happened. A crime that, if you believe there is more to the story than what the survivor told, was brushed under the rub by a powerful and very wealthy family. https://the-line-up.com/the-greystone-mansion-murder, https://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-doheny-murder-20190216-story.html, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greystone_Mansion, https://www.newyorksocialdiary.com/mystery-of-the-greystone-mansion-murders/, https://la.curbed.com/2015/12/8/9894146/greystone-mansion-beverly-hills-interior
Scandal rocked the small town of Beverly Hills, CA in 1929. At a massive mansion built by an oil tycoon's son, Ned Doheny, two men were shot and killed in an apparent murder-suicide. Almost 100 years later, no one can tell you exactly what happened that night because the case is full of rumors including a love affair, a coverup, and the inclusion of the political controversy of its time, the Teapot Dome scandal. Today, the grounds of the home known as Greystone Mansion are open to the public, but few know the history of the murder-suicide that took place within those walls. *** Released in 1980, Hangar 18 was arguably Hollywood's first UFO conspiracy movie. Its plot features many aspects of the real-life UFO enigma, including specific details from allegedly authentic top-secret UFO-related government documentation. But was it also a propaganda film for the Mormon church? (Mormons, Aliens, and Hangar 18) *** A young girl goes for a walk into the woods and suddenly finds she's not alone. This week we chat with "Ghost of Greystone: Beverly Hills" author, Clete Keith, about this famous movie landmark and its sordid and haunted past. We discuss if the murders, suicides, and scandals that happened within the mansion walls could be responsible for the incredible number of paranormal experiences or if the land itself is cursed. Clete worked in an office on the grounds of Greystone for over 2 decades and decided to write about the Doheny estate after experiencing paranormal activity and hearing stories from guest. The book includes the history of the Doheny family paired with photos and 237 ghost stories from 86 eyewitnesses that he collected over 3 years. You may recognize Greystone Mansion from movies such as Spiderman, The Big Lebowski, Batman and Robin, X-Men, and many more. https://www.ghostsofgreystone.com/ https://www.amazon.com/Ghosts-Greystone-Beverly-Clete-Keith/dp/1733155910/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1638224616&sr=8-1
Darkness Radio presents The Ghosts of Greystone with guest Clete Keith For more than two decades, the mystery surrounding the strange events taking place in and around Greystone Mansion have been suppressed, ignored, and disbelieved… until now. The historic Greystone Estate sits atop 18.3 acres in the beautiful City of Beverly Hills. While it may offer spectacular panoramic views and amazing history, many visitors have experienced something unexpected—paranormal activity. The notorious murder/suicide of Ned Doheny and his secretary, Hugh Plunkett, are not the only deaths linked to this home, and it appears that once the Doheny family moved out in 1955, other unwelcome ‘visitors' moved in! Clete Keith worked from an office on the Greystone estate for over two decades, and his book, Ghosts of Greystone - Beverly Hills, is a remarkable collection of over 230 Beverly Hills ghost stories, and a landmark exposé of eyewitness accounts detailing supernatural activity associated with this extraordinary location. I believe it's time to open the lid on this Pandora's Box, one shrouded in secrecy, and finally reveal the mystery inside." Along with rare photographs and intriguing details about the landscape and architecture, Keith delves into the family of Ned and Lucy Doheny, including the fateful murder/suicide on the night of February 16, 1929, and other unfortunate deaths that surround these enigmatic grounds that may have stoked the paranormal fire of active.
