With nearly 30 years of experience in health and fitness and two decades in health-focused grant development, she brings deep expertise and cultural insight to her work. Angelina is a passionate advocate for wellness, community voice, and culturally grounded care that meets people where they are. This Episode:  What if your doctor knew your name, your story, and what was in your fridge? That's the level of care Angelina Renteria champions through Indian Health Council. In this episode, Grant and Angelina explore what it means to offer "womb to tomb" care that reflects the culture, needs, and values of tribal communities. From snowy mountain roads to multi-generational households with limited transportation, tribal members face unique health access barriers, and Indian Health Council meets them with compassion and strategy. Angelina shares how the clinic's integrated care model—where providers, nurses, behavioral health staff, and even peer support specialists collaborate—leads to better outcomes and stronger trust. She also opens up about her own journey from a childhood on military bases to becoming an advocate for Native health, and how her experience of being othered as a teen became fuel for inclusive leadership. Plus, Grant and Angelina talk about community-rooted solutions to the opioid crisis, why traditional practices like sweat and drum circles deserve recognition in modern medicine, and how the medicine wheel's four pillars—mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical—can inspire a more balanced healthcare system for all. Key Moments: [2:38] Why tribally informed care is essential and different from standard healthcare [10:22] What “womb to tomb” care looks like in practice [14:30] How trust and cultural understanding boost health outcomes [25:31]The four components of health: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being[35:45] A bold approach to addressing addiction and recovery [51:06] What policymakers need to hear about tribal healthcare Resources Mentioned in This Episode: Indian Health Council – A tribal healthcare nonprofit serving nine tribes in North San Diego County The SHARE Initiative – A Prebys Foundation grant initiative supporting frontline health clinics Take Action: Support Tribal Health – Learn more about Indian Health Council and the role of tribal health centers in equitable care. Challenge Stereotypes – Elevate community voice and resist one-size-fits-all solutions in health policy. Honor Traditional Medicine – Advocate for the inclusion of culturally rooted healing practices in healthcare systems. Build Belonging – Ask how your organization or community can better reflect and respect the cultures it serves. Share This Episode – Start the conversation about what real, holistic, culturally informed healthcare can look like.

In the first half, author Clete Keith delved into the hauntings at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, CA, where he worked for over 20 years. Numerous ghosts and apparitions have been seen on the site over the years. The ambitious oil man Edward Doheny purchased 429 acres in Beverly Hills, and part of this land became the site for the iconic Greystone Mansion built between 1927 and 1928, for Doheny's son Ned. "Greystone isn't just a house; it's a nexus of history, wealth, and mystery," Keith commented, adding that many Hollywood movies have been filmed at the 46,000-square-foot home, which contains some 55 rooms. In 1929, Ned was found dead at the mansion along with his friend and assistant Hugh Plunkett in what appeared to be a murder/suicide possibly related to the Teapot Dome scandal involving oil leases and political corruption. One visitor to the mansion, a psychically sensitive individual, saw and spoke with the ghost of a little girl named Emily. Another chilling story involved a worker who spotted a girl in white on the mansion's rooftop. He couldn't comprehend how she got up there, and he watched in shock as she jumped off the roof. He and various staff people looked for a body, but none was ever found. It's suspected the child Emily tragically died after an accidental fall from a window or the roof, Keith said. He also shared an encounter of a former staff member who saw a man in a smoking jacket with slicked-back hair in multiple rooms, who was possibly the ghost of Ned. Keith pointed out that Ned was wearing a smoking jacket when he died.------------In the latter half, author and spiritual teacher Sonja Grace discussed her profound experiences with spirit travel, as well as her healing modalities. She explained that spirit travel, which involves her angelic guides, allows her to explore the universe and historical events, including significant periods like Atlantis and Lemuria. "I literally feel like the wind and the cold," she noted, emphasizing the vivid sensations accompanying her travels. Her aim is to contribute to historical understanding, particularly regarding ancient civilizations, by sharing insights into their ceremonies and practices. Regarding Atlantis, she said the civilization acquired nuclear power in the form of an orb, but the technology eventually led to their destruction. As far as the construction of the pyramids in Egypt, she believes they were built at the time of Atlantis, with the assistance of a race of benevolent giants who gave blueprints for the buildings and had the ability to levitate huge stones.Touching on her new book, "The Journey Around the Medicine Wheel," she said her approach to healing and counseling combines her experiences as a Jungian therapist with her Native American spirituality. Grace detailed her long-distance healing practice, saying, "I'm basically energetically doing what a surgeon does." She recounted remarkable success stories, including healing her sister's detached retina, leading to the doctor's surprise at the diagnosis reversal. She also addressed the growing cancer crisis, advocating for a holistic approach that includes energetic healing and natural remedies like certain types of algae. She has concluded that cancer arises from parasitical infestation, and "if we get rid of the parasites, we get rid of the path of destruction."

Most of us are caught in the comfort zones of our lives… even when they aren't helping us to reach out goals, improve our health or create the partnerships we desire. We get lost. We create behaviors that add to it.  We stuff down emotions which become shadows that we hide from. We have the New Moon coming in  the sign of Aquarius which also ushers in the Chinese New Year… The year of the Wood Snake. This New Moon energy is going to start speeding things up. As we say in the South… buckle up buttercup… meaning ground your energy to stay centered. It is a time to take a leap in consciousness. Understand more about your soul energy. Everything you've experienced is serving your evolution in some way. It is teaching you something, and even though it may be heart-wrenching, it is helping your Soul evolve one experience at a time. It's important to understand that we are in an evolution and change is natural.  How you adapt is a big part of this.  Getting out of your comfort zone and breaking free of your old fears is very important. As we take off on this 9th season, I review my thought processes in 2024, a year I labeled with the word Emergence, as a transformation of what I felt we were living collectively, Emergency. Victoria Amazonica led me, with visions and the year-long journey around the Medicine Wheel, in Season #8. Now, a concrete emergence, which echoes the initial birth of VA, which I retell, is coming into my life. A new life is a statement of hope and belief in the power of life to renew itself, to recycle death into rebirth, to respond to wails of despair and hopelessness with laughter, intention, gusto, joy and the intense pleasure of being intensely and purposefully, alive. I review the development of the thematic variations I have presented with each season. Spiritualism's Place. Episode #3 of 4. In honor of our new book, Spiritualism's Place, we're re-releasing one of our favorite episodes about Lily Dale. In the late 20th century, white Americans flocked to New Age spirituality, collecting crystals, hugging trees, and finding their places in the great Medicine Wheel. Many didn't realize - or didn't care - that much of this spirituality was based on the spiritual faiths and practices of Native American tribes. Frustrated with what they called “spiritual hucksterism,” members of the American Indian Movement (AIM) began protesting - and have never stopped. Who were these ‘plastic shamans,' and how did the spiritual services they sold become so popular? We continue walking around the Medicine Wheel and find three totems that seem to have a radical evolutionary and meaningful relationship. We begin with the concept of Illumination, not only as the physical arrival of light, but as an awakening of consciousness. Inspired by recent news of declining book reading in educational institutions, I continue to share my books, and today I honor a visionary, a true luminary; William Blake. After sharing an overview of his life story, we explore the idea of growth and then, the very fraught concept of trust, which seems to be a scarce resource in our contemporary reality. Perhaps I pose more questions than I feel prepared to answer, but voicing our anxieties and concerns is the beginning of the shared quest of humanity.

In this episode, Glover shares insights from over 40 years of guiding individuals through the profound principles of the Medicine Wheel, a powerful symbol of interconnectedness that draws from ancient wisdom traditions. Glover begins by unpacking the Medicine Wheel, illustrating how it maps eight universal realms of consciousness and highlights the intimate relationship between humanity and the environment. He explains the wheel's role as both a tool for self-exploration and a means of bridging our connection to the Earth and the cosmos. Each segment of the wheel invites listeners to reflect on their own spiritual journeys. Delving into the eight intelligences in his teachings, Glover underscores the significance of present-moment awareness, enhanced through practices like meditation and nature immersion. The discussion evolves into the exploration of various states of consciousness, revealing how these experiences deepen our connections to our authentic selves and the shared reality we inhabit. The conversation becomes particularly poignant as Glover addresses the complexities of today's political climate, advocating for unity over polarization. He posits that embracing dualities and fostering conscious awareness can transform interpersonal dynamics, nurturing compassion and community during times of discord. Listeners will resonate with Glover's candid anecdotes and practical advice on cultivating individual spiritual practices while engaging in respectful dialogue. As the episode concludes, Glover reflects on his own path of self-discovery, encouraging listeners to challenge entrenched beliefs and adopt a broader sense of identity. Links & Resources:

Imagine, dear friend, If only we each could, amidst all the horrors we are witnessing as individuals and as a collective, submerge ourselves in wise waters, then float to the surface and emerge, releasing our pain and anguish, and emerge renewed and innocent. Within the episode, I review remarkably abundant and worthy mentions of water in today's newsfeed, which serves to emphasize the crucial and timely message these totems hold for humanity today. The full moon is on Tuesday, September 17th, at 9:34 p.m. in the sign of Pisces. Deep and sensitive, it carries significant energy, often associated with emotional release, intuition, and spirituality. Full moons are moments of culmination and clarity, while eclipses tend to bring about sudden changes, revelations, or endings. During this particular event, the Pisces influence enhances themes related to dreams, creativity, compassion, and emotional depth. Individuals may experience heightened sensitivity, making it a potent time for introspection and healing. It can also encourage letting go of past emotional baggage and adopting a more intuitive approach to life. This energy may manifest in various ways, including the resolution of emotional issues, increased creativity, and a deeper connection to one's spiritual path. It's an excellent time for meditation, artistic expression, and exploring one's inner world. However, remaining grounded is essential, as the emotional waves can be intense. This eclipse happens as we prepare for the new season. As we make this transition, we bring with us the growth from the summer. What does that mean for me?  As I have talked about, for me, it was a lot of unseen growth, not the outward signs we normally expect to see. My growth was deep within, which helped me ground in my soul's purpose and reestablish my soul contract. When our soul wanders, it can be draining.. uncertaintly, self-esteem can drop, trying to please others. One of the things I learned from this “adventure” was the worth that I bring to myself and to my community. Once I understood that, everything shifted. I found myself grounded in my soul and ready to harvest all my teachings and step forward in renewed faith for this new season. What is it for you? What energy drain takes you away from valuing your energy, time, and light? In a recent quiz, The Dark Side of Energy Drains, the #1 drain was the people-pleaser, followed by a close second to the wandering soul, and then the martyr. People pleasing can have several downsides, especially if you don't have good energy boundaries" 1. Loss of Authenticity: Constantly trying to meet others' expectations can lead to a loss of self-identity and authenticity. Individuals may neglect their own needs and desires to gain approval. 2. Emotional Exhaustion: Trying to please everyone can be mentally and emotionally draining, leading to burnout, anxiety, and stress. 3. Resentment: Over time, people-pleasers may feel resentment towards those they aim to please, as they might feel their efforts are unappreciated or taken for granted. 4. Difficulty Setting Boundaries: People pleasers often struggle to set healthy boundaries, which can lead to being taken advantage of or overwhelmed by commitments. And more.. Overall, while wanting to please others can stem from kindness, it's essential to balance this with self-care and authenticity to maintain healthy relationships and personal well-being.  These are just a few examples… want to know more? Join me in my next masterclass, The Aura of a People-Pleaser, where we will look at this energy drain, and I will offer you ways to work energetically with your aura to break this draining habit and monetize your energy better. I'll drop the link in the shownotes.   When the subtle energies are aligned with what you want, they will work for you.  You will start to draw health, opportunities, people, money, clients or anything you want into your life with a lot more ease. This will allow you to work less while having more impact and attracting great clients into your business. It will help you become healthier, stronger, more powerful, and empowered.

It's your feelings, your heart- self love that becomes highlighted. It's a time for you to own your Divine Feminine energy. Mother Earth is so fertile right now and she calls for you to reflect that as well. Get sexy! It is time for the Wild Woman to arise and to shift into the shape you want it to be. Shapeshifting is the ability to physically transform oneself through an inherently superhuman/intuitive abilities, divine guidance, rituals  spells, and learning how to work with your energy! Imagine shapeshifting  parts of you that have gotten stagnant, caught in old habits, that need a little weeding, and pulling in a Wild Woman for your summer amusement. Can you see the part of you for this desire to shift?  Book a Shapeshfting call with me… part of my Summer energy Specials. As I teach in the Medicine Wheel, the season of summer is found in the direction of the South.   In this direction we allow for growth. Qualities - Patience for Growth, Power in Manifestation, Passion in Love, Divine Feminine, the Wild Woman energy. It is a time to find patience with yourself, to sit back, relax into the season and have fun.. As much as I would like to stand over my little plants and say grow.. grow.. it doesn't quite work that way.  We must give space to all the many things we are working on. And we do this finding amusement and joy.    Activate the Devine feminine energy within  you to bring forward the richness in life. To to grow your dreams.  Just look around you.. They is so much growing all around… allow yourself to do the same.   The element of summer is water.. Water holds so much possibility. Its a time to cleanse the body … jump in a lake.. swim.. move energy… it's also the time to feel the feels .. to understand all the emotions that you have.. are they stuffed down.. or do you allow yourself to really feel them.   Not always easy. But that is how we process them.   The animals of prey are our totem.. the lion - Lion Spirit can also be a summer totem for you. Lion wins the prize for most relentless fighter in the face of life challenges. Lion spirit represents courage and strength in overcoming difficulties. The presence of this power animal could also mean that something “wild” or difficult to control is happening. As such, lions symbolize emotions that are difficult to manage, such as anger or fear. Lion as a spirit animal or totem symbolizes: Strength, assertiveness, personal power Passion A common meaning for the lion spirit animal is predatory feelings, such as anger, aggression directed at someone else or towards you Personal struggle to deal with these feelings Lion spirit animals warn about a threatening situation or event in your life What is it for you… what animal will you call in for Summer? What amusement will you find? How will you allow yourself to grown. Follow along with the meditation. I offer a  channeled message during the mediation to see what Spirit has to offer.   I live in the present and see the world as it is The illusions of th world do no cloud my positive manifestation I move toward the horizon and emvrace the world I envision. I AM power in Action.

We begin a special collection of Indigenous voices, stories and ideas carefully curated to entertaing and educate during this uniquely hot summer. In order to establish a bridge to the experiences of the Incas, we begin by  listening to Eagle/Walking Turtle as he describes the dislocation the Native People of this land we now call the United States experienced when Europeans arrived, and he invites us to explore their contemporary descendants in the introduction to his book, Indian America. He also introduces us to the concept of the Medicine Wheel, central to the ideas and values of his people. As we progress in this season, I will lead you to visit all 36 stations of the Medicine Wheel throughtout the summer. We will visit 3 stations of the 36 in every episode, in order to allow time for reflection. In each episode, we will also listen to a story from one of the many peoples who were the original inhabitants of many different corners of America, from lands as distant as Alaska to the southernmost tip, La tierra del Fuego. Do join our unique adventure, and gather some Victorias Amazonicas to cherish.

On this week's episode of The 1 Girl Revolution Podcast, we welcome the phenomenal Shelly Denny, co-founder of Medicine Wheel Ride - a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to raising awareness and support for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women (MMIW) and their families. Shelly lives in Arizona and is an enrolled member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, which is an Anishinaabe Tribe in Northern Minnesota, also known as Ojibway or Chippewa. She is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and works full time in Indian Country as an acupuncturist. Shelly grew up in a biker family and has been on a motorcycle since she was in the womb. In 1996, at 19 years old,  she bought her first motorcycle and hasn't let go of the throttle since. Shelly has logged over a quarter million miles on a motorcycle with numerous cross-country trips, many of which were solo rides. Shelly's activism started in her teen years and she became an organizer and volunteer in groups like Earth First, Food Not Bombs, Catholic Worker Community, and Indigenous rights groups in various peace and justice issues. After seeing the egotism and anger that can get in the way of good activist work, Shelly took a break from direct action to work on internal healing of trauma and addiction and develop healthy and productive modes of coping with obstacles and difficulties. This groundwork of healing and recovery has added a deeper level of resilience and commitment to service. Shelly believes there is great power in knowing exactly who you are and spiritual commitment that extends beyond mere faith. In this episode, you'll hear:  Shelly's inspiring life story; Her experience being raised in a biker family, in the Indigenous community, and being in-and-out of the foster care system; How Shelly goe into volunteerism and activism - and how that was her “rebellion”; About the crisis of Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Relatives; How the Medicine Wheel Ride came to be and all about their incredible work to raise awareness and support for MMIW/MMIR; And so much more.  Listen and Subscribe: Don't miss this inspiring episode - and so many others! This researcher wants a new particle accelerator to use before she's deadPhysicists exploring the nature of reality need ever more capable particle colliders, so they're exploring a successor to the Large Hadron Collider in Europe. But that new machine is at least decades away. Tova Holmes, an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is one of the physicists calling for a different kind of collider that can come online before the end of her career – or her life. This device would use a particle not typically used in particle accelerators: the muon.Is venting the best way to deal with anger? The scientist says chill out.It turns out that acting out your anger might not be the best way to get rid of it. Sophie Kjaervik, a researcher at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va., analyzed 154 studies of the different ways to deal with anger. Her results, published in the journal Clinical Psychology Review, suggest that techniques that reduce your heart rate and calm your mind are more effective than blowing off steam.High intensity wildfires may release toxic forms of metalsWildfire smoke might be more dangerous than you think. A recent study in the journal Nature Communications found that when wildfires pass over soils or rocks rich in a normally harmless metal called chromium, it is transformed into a toxic form. The hotter and more intense the wildfire is, the more of this metal becomes toxic. Scott Fendorf, an Earth system science professor at Stanford University, said this study shows we should factor in the type of geology wildfires pass over to provide more targeted air quality warnings about smoke risks. AI might help solve the problem of runaway conspiracy theoriesConspiracy theories seem to have multiplied in the internet era and so far, we haven't had much luck in debunking these beliefs. The preliminary findings of a new study on PsyArXiv, a site for psychology studies that have yet to be peer-reviewed, suggests that artificial intelligence may have more success. Thomas Costello, a postdoctoral psychology researcher at MIT was the lead author on this study, and said their findings can provide a window into how to better debunk conspiracy beliefs. An Indigenous ecologist on why we need to stop and listen to save the planetEarth day is April 22. And Earth is not in great shape to celebrate the day. Overheated, overpopulated, overexploited – we're not being particularly careful with our planet. We talk to Indigenous ecologist Jennifer Grenz, of the University of British Columbia, about her new book, which is part memoir, part prescription for the medicine our planet needs – a compound of science and traditional wisdom. Her book is Medicine Wheel for the Planet: A journey toward personal and ecological healing.
