Was haben wir gewußt? ArchivWare vom 26. März 2020: Corona-Tote sollen nicht am Virus, sondern mit dem Virus gestorben sein - sagt Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg. Der in der Öffentlichkeit gerade hoch strittige Experte wird und wurde in den Medien entsprechend diffamiert. Kaum eine Auseinandersetzung mit seinen Thesen blieb sachlich und oberhalb der Gürtellinie. Darum zunächst eine Reihe von Expertisen: Dr. Wodarg ist unter anderem Lungen-Facharzt, ist Arzt im staatlichen Gesundheitswesen, Arbeitsmediziner ehemaliger Leiter des Gesundheitsamts der Stadt Flensburg, wo er als Amtsarzt unter anderem die Abteilung Lungen- und Bronchialheilkunde leitete. Er war Mitglied der Prüfungsausschüsse der Ärztekammer Schleswig Holstein für Umweltmedizin, Lungen- und Bronchialheilkunde und für Sozialmedizin. Wodarg gab Lehrveranstaltungen an der Charité Berlin und an weiteren europäischen Hochschulen zu den Themen: Forschung und Ethik, Europapolitik, Gesundheitswesen und soziologische Fragestellungen aus dem Gesundheitswesen, der Politik und des Wissenschaftsbetriebes. 1991 erhielt er ein Stipendium für Epidemiologie und Gesundheitsökonomie an der Johns-Hopkins-Universität in Baltimore. Weiterhin ist Wodarg politisch tätig, er war Vorsitzender des Bundesausschusses im Gesundheitswesen, Mitglied des Deutschen Bundestages, hier Sprecher der SPD-Bundestagsfraktion in der Enquête-Kommission Ethik und Recht der modernen Medizin. Er hatte 2009/2010 den Fehlalarm „Schweinegrippe“ angeprangert. Damals wurde ebenfalls eine Pandemie ausgerufen, weltweit starben 15.000 Menschen am H1N1-Virus, in der selben Saison 500.000 Menschen an der Grippe. Er hatten damals die Untersuchungen des Europarates zur Rolle einiger Impfstoff-Hersteller und der WHO initiiert.

Giselle Dariele Chetty from Deccan Rooad Primary School in Pietermaritzburg was buried on Monday after contracting the H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu. The KwaZulu- Natal Health department said there was no confirmation yet that 9-year-old Pietermaritzburg girl died from swine flu. Since then, there have been two cases of swine flu from pupils at the school which has resulted in the suspension of lessons to conduct a "deep sanitisation" of its classrooms. Following the news of the death of Giselle Chetty, only 350 pupils out of 1,097 have attended school since Monday. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Advocate Rumen Maistry on the cases of swine flu at Deccan Road Primary School in Pietermaritzburg.
