BUFFALO, NY- October 9, 2024 – A new #review was #published in Oncotarget's Volume 15 on September 30, 2024, entitled, “Zika virus and brain cancer: Can Zika be an effective treatment for brain cancer? A systematic review.” As highlighted in the introduction of this review, many studies have identified oncolytic viruses as a promising new class of therapeutic agents for central nervous system (CNS) tumors, particularly glioblastomas (GBM). Zika virus (ZIKV) proteins, specifically targeting certain stem cells, have shown promising results in both in vitro and animal model studies. In their review, researchers Mateus Gonçalves de Sena Barbosa, Beatriz Rodrigues Messias, Rafael Trindade Tatit, Maycon Cristian Gomes de Paula, Valdecir Boeno Spenazato Júnior, Maria Gabriella Borges Braga, Caio Vinícius Marcolino Santos, Luiza D'Ottaviano Cobos, Vinícius Otávio da Silva, Eberval Gadelha Figueiredo, Nicollas Nunes Rabelo, and Bipin Chaurasia from Atenas University Center, Passos; University of Israelita de Ciências da Saúde Albert Einstein; University of Sapucaí Valley; Atenas University Center, Sete Lagoas; Nove de Julho University, Campus Vergueiro; José do Rosário Vellano University, Alfenas; School of Medicine-University of São Paulo (FMUSP), Hospital das Clínicas/FMUSP; and Neurosurgery Clinic in Birgunj, evaluated the efficacy and safety of using ZIKV for treating CNS tumors. Data from in vivo studies were extracted and assessed for bias using the Robins-I tool, evaluating factors such as selection, performance, detection, attrition, and reporting bias. The 14 studies demonstrated that ZIKV reduced cell viability, inhibited the growth and proliferation of glioma stem cells (GSCs), and decreased Bcl2 expression, potentially enhancing chemotherapy and radiotherapy effects. ZIKV caused cytopathic effects, induced tumor cell damage, showed oncolytic properties, and selectively killed GSCs safely. This ultimately led to significant tumor remission and improved long-term survival through an enhanced T-cell response. “Although current evidence suggests ZIKV as a promising treatment for CNS tumors and may improve survival when combined with surgery and radiotherapy.” DOI - https://doi.org/10.18632/oncotarget.28647 Correspondence to - Bipin Chaurasia - trozexa@gmail.com Video short - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JINORGdqAO4 Sign up for free Altmetric alerts about this article: https://oncotarget.altmetric.com/details/email_updates?id=10.18632%2Foncotarget.28647 Subscribe for free publication alerts from Oncotarget: https://www.oncotarget.com/subscribe/ Keywords - cancer, Zika, neurotropism, glioblastoma, glioma, brain tumor About Oncotarget Oncotarget (a primarily oncology-focused, peer-reviewed, open access journal) aims to maximize research impact through insightful peer-review; eliminate borders between specialties by linking different fields of oncology, cancer research and biomedical sciences; and foster application of basic and clinical science. Emotional Support Animals Often confused, there is a major difference between Emotional Support Animals and Service Animals. Lori Brooks has the lowdown on what this means for you and your Emotional Support Tarantula. Yes, he'll be able to get on a plane, but he may be legally turned away from your favorite restaurant. Listen Now Dog-napped! Stolen pets are on the rise. It doesn't matter what breed you have. An estimated two million pets were stolen last year in the United States. That's up 32% according to the American Kennel Club. And the number of actual dogs stolen could be potentially much greater. You need to be extra careful with your furry-family or they might end up in the ugly under-belly of human nature. Listen Now Welcome the Pets in Bed Many experts say "keep the pets out of the bed." But a recent study from the Center for Sleep Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona could change some minds. Researchers surveyed 150 sleep center patients and found that more than half of pet owners allowed their pets to sleep in the bedroom. One out of five described their pets as disruptive, but 41% said their pets were quiet and even beneficial to their nightly sleep. Listen Now Zika Virus and Animals The big question this week is about the Zika Virus - and if our pets can be affected. While there is no evidence yet that they can carry it or transmit it, the relevant question is if they can be sickened by it. Listen Now Read more about this week's show.
In March 2015, Brazil reported a large outbreak of the Zika virus infection. Over the next year, the disease became a global medical emergency. Thousands of babies were born brain-damaged, after their mothers became infected while pregnant. As the World Health Organisation discusses the current global Zika situation and the lessons learned from the outbreak, Claudia Hammond is joined by Dr Graham Easton to hear from the families affected in Brazil and ask what life is now like for the babies who were born with complications. We also hear about new recommendations for how communities around the world can better prevent Sudden Cardiac Death, as well as research on whether how far away you are from a defibrillator is related to how deprived your area is. Claudia speaks to a psychiatric nurse and the woman who says she saved her life by going above and beyond the call of duty. And we hear about the world first from Australia, where scientists discovered a living worm in the brain of a woman who'd been experiencing stomach pain and night sweats. Since first being detected in Brazil less than a year ago, the Zika virus has spread like wildfire and has now been reported across Latin America. The virus usually only results in a mild rash and fever, but it's also been linked to a surge in microcephaly – a condition where babies are born with abnormally small heads. Although the epicentre of the outbreak is in Northern Brazil, there've also been several cases of Zika in Rio de Janeiro. Olympic officials here say that in the run-up to this year's games they will inspect and if necessary fumigate areas where mosquitoes that transmit the disease might breed. Some countries including the United States have advised pregnant women not to travel to Zika-infected areas, including parts of Brazil. With concerns about the impact on athletes and spectators coming to Rio for the Games, the British Olympic Association told the BBC they've been liaising with the London School of Tropical Medicine and will be monitoring the situation closely. 词汇表spread like wildfire 象野火般迅速蔓延rash 热疹fever 高烧abnormally 不正常地,异常地outbreak 爆发in the run-up to 前夕,拉开…

Segment 4, July 8th, 2023 An oft asked question during adventure travel season is, "what's the best insect repellant"? The answer comes from the owner of Charlotte outdoor store, Jesse Brown's. Bill Bartee explains in this Carolina Outdoor segment, that the repellant helps prevent bites & the illnesses that come from mosquitos & ticks. These animals help spread germ & disease such as ZIKA Virus, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, & Lyme Disease. Those concerns outweigh the concern that should be had by using DEET. However we should still now which one is best. When preparing for a trip you will find different concentration & mixtures using DEET. The best two are: 100% DEET, offers the longest period of time for protection. While being the highest concentrate brings concerns to many, you should only apply this to exposed skin. In fact, 100% DEET can be used very sparingly, like applying cologne or perfume. On your neck, wrists, arms, ankles, & legs (if not covered by clothing). 100% DEET will keep the bugs away but should only be used by adults. 30% DEET, is what the American Medical Association recommended in their 1998 report. Although application is the same as 100% DEET, using 30% DEET can be used more often but should still be applied by adults. You'll find on your trip that you'll just apply the 30% DEET more frequently. Notes about DEET: 1. Apply to only exposed skin 2. 100% DEET you may apply once a day, while 30% DEET can be twice 3. When you're back to your lodge, resort, hotel, or home, wash off the DEET 4. Don't use DEET on children less than 2 months old Don't eat or drink DEET. If it is accidentally consumed, drink a small amount of water & call Poison Control 800-222-1222. Other preventions at the outdoor store in Charlotte are: 1. Long Sleeved Shirts, Long Pants, & hats. 2. Be most careful at dusk and dawn (that's when the mosquitos are most active). 3. Check yourself for ticks after each day. information was also taken from EPA & POISON CONTROL
Mosquito haters, rejoice: Researchers in Israel have created an insect repellant made of cellulose (plant compounds) that could save lives and make summer nights way more enjoyable.

This comes at the same time as the CDC warns of a totally different endemic string of diseases coming from the Gulf which just happens to ALSO risk 50% of people infected. So what is actually going on? We know that Bill Gates has been working on GMO mosquitoes that carry "vaccines" and diseases for nearly a decade and that this research has been sped up rapidly in the past 2 years, especially with the release of GMO mosquitoes in the Gulf throughout Florida. It just happens that wherever these mosquitoes are released, death follows. It is also important to note that these fake illnesses that are likely chemical injections can be used as an excuse for the mass die off which is increasing from the jabs. One this is for sure, there won't be an isolate and they won't give evidence for the specific illnesses, just like last time. The NHS notes that the mosquito borne illnesses are not something doctors can easily diagnose and that most people will have NO SYMPTOMS! The illnesses include Zika Virus which is an RNA strain, Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever, Rift Valley Fever among many others. And what's it being blamed on instead of the obvious release of GMO mosquitoes admittedly carrying diseases? Climate change. You can't make this up... But these psychopathic globalists figure they'll give it a try. Resist the tyranny in the coming lockdowns. They're trying to kill us. Protect yourself and your family. Disobey. Maybe the most consistent year of my career, 2015! Even when I was ranked #1 - when Bolt came around, you had to be on guard. Going back to Doha in 2015, where I ran away with 1st place and a 9.7. Coming off Doha, people were talking and I put everyone on notice. I was running 9.7s consistently, I was in such a rhythm. From my broken ankle to a strange 2016 Olympics at Rio, dealing with the Zika Virus, it wasn't a typical Olympic experience.
