It could be your closet, a bookshelf, your kitchen cabinets, or even your workspace. Starting with a specific area will make the task more manageable.Gather Supplies: Gather the necessary supplies, such as garbage bags, donation boxes, cleaning supplies, and labels for organizing.Sort and Prioritize: Begin by taking everything out of the chosen area. Sort items into three categories: Keep, Donate/Sell, and Discard. Be ruthless about what you keep—only hold onto items that are meaningful or genuinely necessary.Clean and Organize: Before putting items back, take the opportunity to clean the space thoroughly. Dust, wipe, and vacuum as needed. Then, organize the items you've decided to keep neatly.Donate or Sell: Items in good condition that you no longer need or use can be donated to charity or sold online. Make a plan to drop off donations or list items for sale.Dispose of Unusable Items: Properly dispose of items that are broken, damaged, or beyond repair. Ensure that you recycle or dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way.Label and Organize: Use labels or containers to keep things organized and easily accessible. This will help you maintain the clutter-free space.Maintain a Clutter-Free Zone: Going forward, commit to keeping the area clutter-free. Make it a habit to regularly assess the space and ensure that it remains organized.Example for Day 6:Let's say you choose to declutter your closet. Start by taking everything out of the closet and sorting your clothes into the three categories: Keep, Donate/Sell, and Discard. As you go through your wardrobe, consider whether you've worn an item in the past year and if it still fits your style and needs. Once you've sorted your clothes, clean the closet, and then neatly organize the items you're keeping. Bag up the clothes for donation and dispose of any damaged items.Motivational Quote:"Outer order contributes tSupport the Podcast: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1590358/support Closing of ReThinkBuzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! Physical clutter can be incredibly overwhelming. Clutter on bench tops prevents you from getting full functionality out of your furniture. Clutter in your wardrobe creates too many decisions for you to make about what you’re going to wear. And clutter in your spare room represents a long list of to-dos you need to deal with. If we objectively understand that clutter is stealing some of our overall happiness and clarity, why do many of us struggle to take action to remove clutter from our lives? Decluttering, while admirable, struggles to make it to the top of our priorities. Even though we know the impact of it will completely change the way we feel. In this episode, we break down why most people struggle to get traction when it comes to decluttering and offer some tips on how you can move forward. Are you looking for more?
