Have you heard of a book called 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck'? I'm guessing you have since it's sold, uh, 16 million copies since it came out in 2016. There hadn't been a non-fiction book that big and disruptive in a long, long time… Mark's meteoric success is the product of a giant mind which has mastered the art of taking the biggest, densest books on the planet and then simmering them down into simple, profanity-laced models and stories that hit you like a ton of bricks. The world is so loud! So busy. So full. Everything is screaming at us to buy this, buy that, do this, do that. You know what we need in this wild world? Guides! Clear voices. People who give us simple and practical advice that we can follow and put into place… Mark Manson is one of those guides for me and millions of others. I follow his popular YouTube channel and read his simple and punchy tweets. In this classic 3 Books chapter, in Mark's cramped hotel room at The Drake Hotel in Toronto, we go deep on building trust in an era of clutter, why Mark poo-poos self-help gurus, what is the root problem with the 'advertising model,' why Mark played video games for months after the success of his book, what his writing routines and principles are, and, of course, his 3 most formative books… Let's flip the page back to Chapter 28 now...

What if beating procrastination and taking action were actually easy? In the book The Map of Consciousness the author Dr. David Hawkins says: "Change and letting go of the familiar is easy, but we avoid it because it seems like effort to the ego. But It only seems like effort if we go at it the hard way of forcing ourselves, by using willpower."He explains that not much effort is actually needed to overcome our aversion to change. Instead, he suggests that by simply paying attention, things can start to shift on their own. In this episode I share with you my results from trying what Dr. David Hawkins suggests, whether I found it easy or not, and I offer some suggestions how you could try this out on your journey from chaos to peace in your home, office, files or finances - what if it were easy to get organized? >> I'd love to hear from you, send me a Text Message ;-)From Chaos to Peace Consulting Inc - https://connygraf.comGet notified of the next live round of Chaos to Peace Jumpstart

We are officially in back to school and back to work mode with the Sun now in the sign of Virgo, I hope you enjoyed the warmer months if you like me in the Northern Hemisphere. Summer is my favourite season and so It is bitter-sweet to see the leaves starting to turn and some even falling off already. Nature reminds us that letting go is a natural occurance in the cycle of life. I can be quite sentimental and then I listened to a conversation between James Corden and Jay Shetty. James was the host of The Late Late Show for 1198 episodes, and resently called it quits even though the show was immensly popular and he loved doing it. He says: I just knew that I wanted to to do it and then stop doing it and see if there's something else. He then shares a beautiful analogy of letting go a baloon and how that's magical. Let's face it: moving is stressful and challenging on many fronts - emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially. Yet, each year, tens of millions of people in the US relocate from their place of birth or current residence to another location within the same city, county, state, country, or abroad for many reasons. (Read more at: https://www.mymovingreviews.com/move/how-often-and-why-americans-move/) During these moves, we tend to accumulate belongings along the way, and the next thing we know, we have more stuff than we know what to do with. In this episode, I chatted with Deanna Yates about this very topic and how minimalism has played a significant role in her life of relocating 16 times in the past 20 years. She provided listeners with practical decluttering and downsizing advice for those who are ready to let go and who crave more space in their homes and lives. I hope you enjoy and are helped by this conversation with Deanna. Deanna Yates is the busy mama behind the top-ranking podcast, Wannabe Clutter Free, where she helps other busy families learn how to let go of the stuff holding them back so they can enjoy more time together, stop spending their weekends cleaning house, and wake up excited for the day ahead. In the first part of the episode I talk about the reasons why a cluttered space feels so very heavy and how we are energetically connected with everything we own. Which then leads me to my guest Marilyn Penny. Marilyn is a Soul Realignment Practitioner and a reader of the Akashic Records. She brings a unique blend of spiritual insight and pragmatic expertise to real estate as well as our personal well-being with a specialized focus on dissolving negative energetic blocks. I have already as a teenager realized how our environment has an effect on us, how when we change the environment to the better we can feel better, we'll think clearer, and act with more clarity. So I was particularly excited to talk with Marilyn about her work that complements so beautifully with my work and mission. Marilyn and I talk about: how homes have a soulthat emotions can get locked in spaces why a house can make us feel stuck or worse it can make us even sick what are the Akashic Recordswhat happens during a Soul Realignment sessionWhat recurring things she had to clear from properties andwhat the benefits are of energetically clearing our spaceFrom Chaos to Peace Consulting Inc - https://connygraf.comConnect with me on LinkedInGet to know the more private me on Instagram orLike and Follow my Facebook Page
Although age does have its advantages, we know all-too-well that becoming a senior citizen does have its share of challenges. One of the most challenging is facing our own mortality. Despite this rather formidable concept, however, there's been an idea that's been sweeping both Europe and the U.S—and that is the phenomenon known as Swedish Death Cleaning. Our guest, Dr. Regina Lark is a well-known entrepreneur, speaker, and author. In 2008 she founded A Clear Path, a professional organizing and productivity company whereby Regina and her team of “ninja organizers” provide professional physical, emotional, and psychological support for people who wish to clear clutter and chaos from their lives. Regina is joining us to share her thoughts on Swedish Death Cleaning and the ways that organizing our clutter can provide great benefits to multiple areas of our lives. Not only does clearing the clutter enhance our immediate living environment, it enhances our emotional health and overall wellbeing. If you want to find out more about the numerous benefits you will reap from the practice of Swedish Death Cleaning, you won't want to miss this show!

Clearing clutter is not merely a physical task; it is a mindful endeavor that extends far beyond the tangible possessions we accumulate. It's a process of peeling away the layers, shedding not just excess belongings but the weight of unnecessary burdens on the mind. The very act of sorting through belongings becomes a ritualistic dance of introspection, an excavation of what truly matters.

We believe that prioritizing relaxation is paramount, even when we feel overwhelmed. Chronic tension can have detrimental effects on our physical and mental well-being, so it's crucial to find ways to reduce stress. Increasing resilience is one approach we suggest, starting with slowing down, reducing our to-do lists, and scheduling regular breaks throughout the day. Deep breathing is also important, as our breath is closely linked to our emotions. Breathing deeply from the diaphragm can help promote relaxation. Incorporating humor into our lives is another tip we offer, as laughter can act as a tension reliever. Additionally, following a balanced diet consisting of natural, whole foods can enhance our bodies' ability to manage stress. Paying attention to our sleep is crucial as well, as everyone requires different amounts of rest. We encourage listeners to discover their ideal amount of sleep by experimenting on weekends or vacations.Moving on to sleep quality, we explore various strategies. We recommend experimenting with your sleep schedule to find the optimal bedtime, gradually moving it back by an hour each night until you wake up feeling refreshed. It's crucial to maintain this consistent sleep schedule even on weekends and holidays. Regular exercise is highlighted as an effective stress management tool. Whether it's resistance bands, strength training, or a simple walk, finding an exercise routine that suits you is key. We also discuss the therapeutic effects of creative outlets such as painting or writing for reducing stress. Cultivating supportive relationships is essential for managing stress. We encourage reaching out to family and friends and advocating for your needs. In this episode I share a bit about my frustration with myself of only collecting ideas without organizing them, and more importantly without sharing them. How I almost went down a rabbit hole about how to organize my ideas and files in Evernote, on how to restructure my PKM system (personal knowledge management) In the process of re-organizing my Evernote I found wisdom shared from my past self when I helped a client, a (recovering) perfectionist like me, to organize her office and workspace. It made it clear again, we can't think our way to perfection, to the perfect office, the perfect system, we can't know what that is until we start. Don't just take it from me, hear what my client has to say, how resistant she was to this idea and how surprised she was by all the positive side effects.
