We're opening the doors to a world where joy isn't just a feeling but a space we live in. We're talking decluttering with the queen of clean, Tracy McCubbin. Imagine your home, but with breathing room, where every nook cradles peace instead of piled-up papers. That's where Tracy takes us, transforming cluttered caves into serene sanctuaries. So, let's declutter your midlife and make room for you! Tracy's not just any tidying guru; she's a story of transformation. Growing up amidst clutter, she saw first-hand how possessions can overshadow life's true treasures. Her journey from Hollywood's glitzy chaos to the heart of home harmony shows us that change isn't just possible; it's a path to rediscovering ourselves. Diving into the clutter, Tracy reveals it's not about the stuff but what it signifies. It's a mirror to our mental clutter, reflecting deep-seated emotions and unresolved stories. But here's the twist – decluttering isn't just about letting go; it's about uncovering joy, one cleared corner at a time. Tracy's company, dClutterfly, is more than a cleaning service; it's a ticket to freedom. She shares tales of spaces and souls reborn, proving that decluttering goes beyond aesthetics to touch the core of our well-being. Ever thought your clutter could tell your story? Tracy does. She navigates us through the emotional labyrinth of clutter, highlighting the thin line between hoarding and being human. The shame, the guilt – she's seen it all and offers a hand to those ready to step into the light. From the 'seven Clutter Magnets' to the profound 'upstream causes,' Tracy's insights are a roadmap to a clutter-free life. But her actionable tips arm us for the journey, teaching us to hold on to what truly matters while letting the rest go. As we wrap up, Tracy's dual role as a change-maker in homes and hearts through OneKid OneWorld reminds us that decluttering isn't just personal; it's a global gateway to giving back. Join us as we laugh, learn, and let go, making room not just in our homes but in our hearts for that elusive joy. It's an episode that doesn't just declutter; it delights, inspiring us to pursue that spark of simplicity in our midlife adventure. She's an organizational expert, badass entrepreneur, author, and Co-Executive Director of OneKid OneWorld, a non-profit building strong educational foundations for children in impoverished communities throughout Kenya and Central America. No big deal. She grew up with family members who hoarded, and she knows firsthand that the effects of living amongst an accumulation of possessions go far beyond the home's walls. BIG facts. This personal experience gives her contrast since she has a unique understanding of the mindset of the organizationally challenged. She was working for a major television director in Los Angeles when she discovered she had the ability to see through any mess and clearly envision a clutter-free space, and bring that to fruition for the world. That, in combination with her keen time management, allowed her to reinvent herself as an entrepreneur and organizational MASTER, and dClutterfly was born. Unfortunately, perfectly curated Pinterest boards don't always translate to perfectly organized homes. And while you can appreciate the beauty of a rainbow bookshelf, or a pantry full of labeled clear jars, those things may not actually serve you. And if in this pursuit of picture-perfect organization you've labeled yourself a bad housekeeper, or too lazy, you likely feel so off track that you don't even know where to begin again. Professional organizer and author Tracy McCubbin has spent thousands of hours helping her clients and now she is sharing the most insightful things she has learned along the way. We all want to declutter and organize our lives, but we can't do that without first talking about our buying and acquiring habits. Why do we shop and overbuy? What are clutter magnets? Where do we start when it comes to getting rid of things? Our expert guest, Tracy McCubbin, answers all of these questions and more. Absolutely loved chatting with Tracy and especially enjoyed doing '4 Things Gratitude' with her! The 4 things she's thankful for are so good (i.e. she impromptu shared some dating tips after revealing that she just got married for the first time in her 50s to a man she met on Bumble!!)    ABOUT TRACY: Tracy McCubbin is an entrepreneur, CEO, and the author of Making Space, Clutter Free: The Last Book On Decluttering You'll Ever Need (June 4th, 2019) and the newly launched book, Make Space for Happiness: How to Stop Attracting Clutter and Start Magnetizing the Life You Want (Sourcebooks, October 4th, 2022). She has always referred to herself as "Obsessive Compulsive Delightful," but who knew she could turn that trait into a booming business? While working for a prominent television director in Los Angeles, Tracy discovered she could see through any mess and clearly envision a clutter-free space. Coupled with keen time-management and organizational skills, Tracy soon found more and more people were asking her for help. Before she knew it, dClutterfly was born. Over fifteen years and thousands of clients later, dClutterfly is currently Los Angeles' premier organizing and decluttering company. Tracy has been interviewed for several decluttering segments, including Fox 5 Washington DC and ABC7 Los Angeles, KTLA Morning News, KCAL9 CBS Los Angeles, and Good Day Sacramento. She and her company have also been featured in top-tier publications, including Real Simple, House Beautiful, Goop, Refinery 29 and Woman's Day.   When not decluttering, she is the proud Co-Executive Director of OneKid OneWorld, a non-profit building strong educational foundations for children in impoverished communities throughout Kenya and Central America. www.onekidoneworld.org  Tracy lives in Los Angeles and knows where her keys are.     Website: www.dclutterfly.com IG: @tracy_mccubbin FB: Tracy McCubbin TikTok: tracymccubbin YouTube: Tracy McCubbin   Best places to find more about Amy: RadioAmy.com + @RadioAmySee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
