Home Cleaning & Routine Tips I'm loving for Spring Today I'm sharing my current FAVES when it comes to being a busy Mum, especially leading into Spring when you really feel the need to freshen up and get on top of everything.Morning Routine! Do an audit and change it if you're feeling overwhelmed. If what you're currently doing doest serve you, YOU are the only one who can level up and make it better. One of my GO TO morning routine steps is making the bed, opening the blinds and windows.Do 1 load of laundry every day. Choose 1 set of sheets, one set of towels, a white load, a black load or a colour load. This breaks it down and means you will get to the weekend feeling on top if it all rather than spending your whole Sunday doing laundry. Using Dryer balls is a game changer! Highly recommend you get some.Treat yourself to some LUXE cleaning products. whatever makes you feel liek teh scent is sending you to a luxury resort, day spac or expensive store. Buying new products that make you feel good will give you the motivation and inspiration you need to get cleaning.Lay out the clothes for the next day. This includes all the kids uniforms, clothes, your gym or work clothes. This helps you not have to think in the morning and allows the kids to be responsible for some of their own routine too.Having a wind down routine that looks after my future self. Set a 10 minute timer to clean up the kitchen, the heart of the home. In the morning you will come down to a fresh, clean kitchen, ready togo for the day.Reccommendations:Domenica Formulations Cleaning Products: https://domenicaformulations.com/Send us a textSupport the Show.Suggest any podcast requests or connect with me on socials, Send me a voicey on Instagram, I'd love to hear from you!I would love to hear how you are inspired in your home. Send us a Text Message.Inspired Moment | How to Start the Day Right! Here are my TOP TIPS that will hopefully help you to think about where you could be adding more to your morning routine to bring more energy, love and organisation to the way you start the day.1. What time do you wake up each day? Are you allowing yourself the time you want to achieve your morning goals? Waking up at the same time every day is a huge one. If you are an early bird and you like your mornings, join the 5am club! Over time, your body will naturally wake up at that time, which is really cool. Use a gentle alarm tone, not one that jolts you awake!2. What puts you in the best head space once you're up? I love going for a gentle walk and then coming home to a calm hot coffee before the house wakes up. You might prefer to get up and get ready, spend time on your skin care routine or do a mediation or journaling exercise.3. Nourishing food to energise your body is super important the help you sustain energy and hormone levels throughout the day. If you're strapped for time, what can you do to prepare breakfast ahead of time. Some great breakfast meal prep ideas I love are:- Pop all smoothie ingredients, except the liquid, into a clip seal bag and keep in the freezer until your ready to blend.- Make overnight oats or overnight chia puddings.- Boil a heap of eggs and have 2 with a piece of fruit as you're getting ready or rushing out the door.Hope these tips help you to re establish a strong morning routine that gives you more energy and bring calm to the chaos.Suggest any podcast requests or connect with me on socials, Send me a voicey on Instagram, I'd love to hear from you!I can't wait to hear how you are inspired in your life. There is a difference between Stress and Anxiety. Sammy starts this episode by explaining the difference.Stress - A stressor can be removed. Physically stress can present by holding tension in the body. A tight neck and shoulders, clenching your jaw, etc.Anxiety - A prolonged state. Racing heart, shortness of breath. Removing a stressor will not help this go away. With stress, we get a spike in adrenaline and cortisol (stress hormones). So, to reduce stress there are some great practices you can put into place as well as nutritional changes you can start to bring in to assist in stress reduction. To help soothe stress, Sammy recommends these two practices:Deep Breathing - breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth.Focus on the 4 access points in our body to bring relaxation to our bodies - head/face, shoulders, tummy and feet.Nutritional ans supplemental options to reduce stress that Elise recommends are:Cut down caffeine intake or limit any caffeine to before midday. Remember, caffeine is in coffee, tea, pre workouts, chocolate bars, energy bars and so much more!Stabilise glucose crashes - help stabilise your blood sugar levels. Make sure to focus on lean proteins (like eggs, chicken, turkey) and complex carbohydrates (like oats, basmati rice, sweet potatoes) at each meal.We can't wait to hear how you are inspired in your life. Our FAVE 'Me Time' Moments for Replenishment in SpringToday we talk through our FAVE Me Time moments we wanted to share to inspire and motivate you to replenish yourself coming into Spring!Sammy shares that she has been focusing on quiet and sensory deprivation. She loves a float therapy or even just lying on her bed in the quiet and darkness. The benefits of taking out all external inputs can really help replenish and calm our nervous systems. You might like to habit stack some sensory deprivation onto another part of routine each day. Think about your priorities and where you can find 10 minutes a day. Having time out for you is actually productive in showing up to other areas of your life. It's also important to not that silence can feel uncomfortable in a world that is over stimulated. Just notice this and realise it's normal. Small steps and slowly you might find you can get used to BEing in peace and calm.Elise is LOVING meditation right now. Inspired Moment | Time Blocking and Giving ComplimentsThis week we are back with an inspired moment episode. We love this!!Sammy has started Time Blocking. This uses all the hours of your day and blocks every single thing you might need to do in your day. She LOVES it and can't recommend it enough. We will check back in a few weeks to see how she is going with it :)How to time block you ask? Start with blocking out free time and self care FIRST, then appointments or family commitments, then work deadlines etc. Don't forget to block out time for eating or planning for meetings too. This way, you prioritise looking after yourself first. It also takes the overwhelm out of keeping track of the mental load that comes with all the tasks you have taking up brain space.Elise's inspired moment is all about giving friends or family compliments. Be an advocate for everything that is happening in their lives, positive or negative. No matter what the change or situation is, it is so easy to be supportive and caring, no matter what. Just remember to accept compliments, thank people you love for moments that have meant something to you. Why is Death so Taboo? A Gentle chat with Kim Somerville about End of LifeToday we welcome Kim Somerville to the podcast to talk about a topic that can be really uncomfortable and brings up a lot of emotions. By talking with Kim and having this conversation we hope we can enable more calm and support to end of life situations and experiences.Kim explains how having a terminal illness does not have to be taboo. Death should be an honour to witness, just as birth is. As a death Doula, Kim tunes into the needs of a family unit navigating death and helps them have difficult conversations in a calm and honest way. Kim reminds us that conversations about death and dying can be started now. She shares some ways you might like to open up conversations about wishes with loved ones or parents now, even if there is no illness. We talk about how to navigate speaking to children about grief and loss. Children are so innocent and this can actually be a beautiful opening and inspiration to follow. We hope this episode is thought provoking and brings you peace if you are going through the illness or death of a loved one or, if you are on this path yourself. Perfect Marriages Don't Exist! A Real Chat About Relationships and CommunicationWe strive to keep it real and raw on Inspired to Be. This week we felt called to chat about our marriages, the ups and downs and how when 'life happens' our relationships change, challenges arise and we can easily forget that all relationships need love, nurturing and continual attention. Sammy talks through her journey, falling pregnant after only dating Brad for one month. Then, after Cooper was born, they navigated months in hospital with him and many life threatening health challenges. Through this time and pressure, Sammy says they focused on their solid grounding and individual independence while navigating the ups and downs of a relationship and life together.Elise talks through the ever changing experiences that can be challenging on a relationship like babies, moving, deaths and illnesses in families, as well as financial constraints. These are all so hard and can make you question your marriage but this is totally normally. Some of our best tips and thoughts that we feel help our relationships are:Are you equally finding time independently outside of your relationship and home life?Have you given yourself permission to have self care time and time outside of being a wife or mother?Find confidence in bringing up conversations and being vulnerable together. This is where change begins.Communicate how you're feeling. If you feel like your needs aren't being met, think about how you have communicated this. Can you communicate differently in a calm space where it can be received. It's ok to feel emotional and voice that you need a break before coming back when you feel calmer.Listen to listen, and understand. Don't feel the need to respond straight away. Pause and honour what has been said.Schedule in and find pockets of time where you can be present, feel balanced and checked in to conversations.Make sure you understand correctly what your partner is communicating by reflecting back to them what they have said. Remember, Every day YOU have the choice to fall in love with this person again.Commit to falling in love through the person you are, today. Make a conscious effort to show up and nurture your relationship. A weekend away or time to reconnect.Notice the small moments of connection, play and fun.Check in with your goals individually and as a couple.Sammy Recommends - Esther Perel Relationship CardsWe can't wait to hear how you are inspired in your life. Inspired Moment | Wild Peace and Changing ThoughtsSammy shares about a retreat she went to recently in the Blue Mountains, NSW.On the retreat, one part that really resonated with Sammy was honouring wild peace. In more detail, holding duality for stillness in mindful practices as well as movement, fun and wild play. Maybe you could start to give yourself permission to allow your practice to be a little bit wild. Allow movement and allow your creativity and inspiration to come through. If your energy needs to come out, allow it. Both can exist together. Think about this…What if you allowed your mindful practice to be peaceful and wild? What would like to be expressed through me? Elise shares a book that she has not been able to put down!Book - 101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think by Brianna Wiest: Get the Book HERE Elise loves this book because it's a really easy read, short ‘essays' that are thought provoking without being too deep or too full on to read before bed. You could use the points Brianna notes down as journal prompts or reflections on yourself going into meditations or even at stressful or overwhelming moments throughout your day.
