Meet Fr. Charbel — his order, his mission, and why Marian consecration is centralFr. Charbel introduces the Franciscans of the Immaculate, an order founded to continue the Marian mission of St. Maximilian Kolbe:Total consecration to Mary as a fourth vowA spirituality built on St. Francis + St. MaximilianMissionary availability (“Send me anywhere in the world”)Heavy emphasis on prayer, poverty, obedience, and Marian devotionHe explains how Our Lady's presence has shaped every major moment in salvation history — from Nazareth to the Cross — and why consecration gives Mary “permission” to form us the way she formed Christ.2. A surge of young men seeking GodAs the newly appointed vocations director, Fr. Charbel reveals something astonishing:40+ serious vocation inquiries in just two months. Why the sudden surge?Men want something realThey crave mission and purposeThey want orthodoxy and reverenceThey want a spirituality that demands something of themMarian devotion draws them in a unique way“It's inspiring,” he says. “Young men want authenticity.”3. Fr. Dom calls all Catholics to wake up and stand firm. The Church is not an institution to critique from a distance. She is a living, supernatural reality. She is the Bride of Christ. When you attack her, you attack Him. When you defend her, you honor Him. This homily is a direct charge for Catholics to reject passivity, confront the idols in their own lives, and reclaim their place as protectors of God's household. In this homily, you are confronted with the reality that the Church is not optional. She is not a social club, a human institution, or a cultural relic. She is divine. She is the unsinkable ship. She is the Bride of Christ, brought to life through His blood and water. Attacking the Church is attacking the Bride of God. You are called to honor her, defend her, and deepen your own fidelity to her. You'll hear how Ezekiel's prophecy points directly to Christ's crucifixion, how Jesus' cleansing of the Temple reveals the righteous anger of God, and how St. Paul's warning about the destruction of the temple applies to every single man today. The message is simple: if you refuse to fight, you will lose the soul entrusted to you. Christ did not die so men could drift into lukewarmness. He died to raise men into warriors who defend His Bride.THREE POWERFUL QUOTES FROM THE TRANSCRIPT“The Catholic Church is the unsinkable ship on a stormy sea. The gates of hell shall not prevail against us.”“If someone said your wife was evil, you would cleanse the temple. That is exactly what Jesus did.”“If anyone destroys the temple, God will destroy that person. Jesus is not a pacifist. He loves us too much.”KEY TAKEAWAY FOR MEN TO APPLY IMMEDIATELY Identify one idol in your life — anything that steals time, devotion, or obedience from Christ — and remove it with the same zeal that Christ used to cleanse the temple. Do not delay. Fight back.Send us a text Support the showPlease prayerfully consider supporting the podcast on our Buy Me A Coffee page. to help grow the show to reach as many men as possible! Most Catholic men talk about trusting God, but very few surrender the one area that reveals the truth: their generosity. In this episode, Jacob Cokely joins me to confront a battlefield most men avoid. His new book, Kingdom Generosity: Discovering the Secret to the Abundant Life, calls men out of comfort, out of passive belief, and into the dangerous, countercultural obedience that Jesus demands.Jacob shares how God confronted him twelve years ago and told him to give away everything he had. He only had five hundred dollars to his name. He gave it away. Nothing happened at first. No rewards. No blessings. No instant turnaround. But that step launched a life of radical trust, radical risk, and radical freedom. Jacob shows how generosity is far bigger than finances. It is your time, your gifts, your talents, your attention, and your willingness to act when God prompts you. He reminds us that Jesus Himself is the model of generosity as the one who became poor so we could become rich in grace. At the end of the episode, I issue a direct challenge to every man listening: Take one uncomfortable step of generosity this week. Not talk. Not theory. Action. This is spiritual warfare, and the enemy uses fear, scarcity, and self-preservation to keep men small. Break that chain. For men serious about reclaiming their leadership, rebuilding trust in God, and stepping into authentic Catholic manhood, this conversation is essential.Products and Resources Mentioned• Kingdom Generosity by Jacob Cokely (Amazon) • Free 3-Day Devotional — KingdomGenerosity.Podia.comThree Powerful Quotes From the Transcript“God has something for you. He doesn't need anything from you.”“Men are soldiers. We are called to do difficult things and lead — especially in generosity.”“This is the one area where God says, ‘Test Me.' He puts His name on the line.”One Immediate Takeaway for Catholic MenStop waiting for perfect conditions. Give God one concrete act of generosity this week — time, money, or talent — that costs you something. Obedience begins with a single step.Send us a text Support the showPlease prayerfully consider supporting the podcast on our Buy Me A Coffee page. to help grow the show to reach as many men as possible! Every man wants to be great but few are willing to endure what it takes to become a saint. In this powerful All Saints Day reflection, Fr. Dom reminds us that sainthood isn't for the perfect but for the men who refuse to quit the fight.Drawing from the Gospel of Matthew and the Beatitudes, this episode calls every Catholic man to return to the fundamentals: obedience to the commandments, the sacraments, and daily perseverance in the spiritual battle. Fr. Dom challenges you to stop making excuses, pick up your spiritual weapons, and start running the race toward heaven just like the saints did.He breaks down what it means to live the Beatitudes in real time, reminding us that the saints were ordinary men and women who chose extraordinary endurance. Just like a triathlete pushing through pain, the saint keeps moving forward even when everything in him screams to stop. The path to heaven is not for the faint-hearted. It's for those who never give up.In this episode, you'll discover:Why All Saints Day is more than a commemoration—it's a battle call for the living. How “a saint is a sinner that never gives up” should define your daily fight. Why obedience to the commandments is not optional for those who love Christ. How the sacraments—especially Confession and the Eucharist—are your training fuel for holiness. Why the saints in heaven are cheering you on like teammates in a race, calling out, “You can do this!”Fr. Dom issues a direct challenge to every man: Honor the saints, study their lives, and imitate their endurance. Find a saint whose story matches your own struggles and ask for his intercession. Heaven is your real home—live like it.He reminds us that to love Christ is to obey Him. As Scripture says, “If you love me, you will obey my commandments” (John 14:15). Those who claim to love God yet ignore His commands are, as St. John says, liars. This is the hard truth every man needs to face: holiness demands action, not lip service. You were confirmed to be a soldier of Christ. The Holy Spirit has already equipped you with every weapon you need. It's time to unlock that power and start living as a man who trains for eternity.Three Powerful Quotes from the Episode:“A saint is a sinner that never gives up.”“The saints are in heaven shouting, ‘You can do this. I've been where you are. Pray more. Go to confession. Persevere.'”“If you love me, you will obey my commandments. If you don't, you are a liar and the truth is not in you.”Send us a text Support the showPlease prayerfully consider supporting the podcast on our Buy Me A Coffee page. to help grow the show to reach as many men as possible! In light of Pope Leo XIV's canonization of the Catholic Church's two newest saints last week Sunday and due to other timely and relevant reasons you'll hear cited at the very start, this is a reissue of what was Episode 188, exactly three years ago this month. The now departed George Rose was the Executive Advisor of Pacific Rim Operations with the New York Yankees, which included having served as a Japanese translator for the likes of Hideki Irabu, Masahiro Tanaka, and Hideki Matsui, among others. He also served as an advisor for Japan's Yomiuri Giants baseball team. He was a board member of "Catholic Men for Jesus Christ," a more than 25-year old organization. He also had a radio show called, "Brothers in Arms," which he talked about here. And, he was a cancer survivor who by far was not only the first person to come on this show with a story about a miracle that would help confirm a saint, but probably the ONLY person who will be a guest and have that kind of witness to share -- the closest that any of us will come to hearing something like this firsthand.

An online forum thread sparked a firestorm when a young Catholic woman asked why so many Catholic men seemed to lack financial ambition while also desiring large families. Have we confused gospel poverty with financial irresponsibility? In this episode of The Catholic Money Show, Jonathan and Amanda dig into the tension between faith, finances, and ambition. They explore what holy simplicity really means, why lack of financial formation creates painful realities for young Catholic families, and how men and women alike can discern career and family decisions responsibly. Whether you're single, newly married, or deep into family life, this conversation will challenge and encourage you to think differently about vocation, responsibility, and provision.

We live in a world that feels more divided than ever. Every issue seems split down the middle—until we discover what I call 100% issues: causes that no one can argue against. What if the Church set its sights on ending childhood hunger in America? What if Christians became known, once again, for living lives of staggering generosity? In this talk, I share how generosity can transform not only the Church but also the culture around us. You'll hear stories of priests, parishes, and ordinary people who discovered the freedom of trusting God more than money and the joy of giving beyond expectations. Generosity is not just about money—it's about time, encouragement, praise, and creativity. When we grow in generosity, we ignite the world with hope and faith.

Most Catholic men can recite the Sign of the Cross in their sleep. But do we truly grasp what we're invoking every time we say those words?Fr. Dom cuts through the confusion and calls Catholic men to stand firm in one of the most attacked and misunderstood dogmas of our faith: the Most Holy Trinity. From Scripture to heresy, from the Catechism to the Creed, this episode dives deep into why the Trinity is not just a theological concept—but the very heart of Christian manhood. We walk through salvation history, tracing how the Trinity was slowly unveiled, culminating in Pentecost when God fully revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is not just a mystery to study—it's a mystery to live. And in a world that mocks the sacred, we are challenged to reclaim our bold, public witness to this truth.Fr. Dom reminds us that every time we make the Sign of the Cross, we are drawing the sword of Christ's victory over Satan. Every confession, every Eucharist, every act of prayer—these are moments where we are in direct contact with the living Trinity. But how many men cower when it's time to make the Sign of the Cross in public? This episode issues a direct challenge: Catholic men must stop being ashamed of their faith. Stop being passive. Start embracing the power of the Trinity that was poured into your heart at baptism.Key Challenge Issued:“We must stop being ashamed of making the Sign of the Cross in public. The world needs to know who we are and what we stand for.”One Key Takeaway for Men: Begin and end your day making the Sign of the Cross slowly and reverently. Do it with conviction. Do it in public. Do it as if your soul depends on it—because it does.

The Church has entered a historic moment—and you, Catholic man, have a mission. In this episode of The Manly Catholic, we reflect on the election of Pope Leo XIV, the first American Pope in the history of the Church, and the profound implications this moment holds for Catholic men across the world. This isn't just a historical event—it's a spiritual challenge. With clarity, conviction, and a deep love for the Bride of Christ, Pope Leo XIV comes out of the gates with power. Drawing from the charism of the Augustinians and inspired by Pope Leo XIII, our new Holy Father is already taking bold, countercultural stands. In just his first week, he infallibly declared that marriage is between one man and one woman and proclaimed the family as the nucleus of civilization. He is not holding back—and neither should we.We are facing our own Industrial Revolution: Artificial Intelligence, the breakdown of the family, confusion about human identity and sexuality, and an increasing rejection of moral truth. But like Pope Leo XIII before him, Leo XIV is standing in the breach—and he's calling us to do the same.Key Takeaway: Live your faith publicly and boldly. Do not hide behind silence or comfort. Proclaim Christ with your life, especially in your home. Begin by strengthening your marriage and leading your family in sacrificial love. That is where the Church is rebuilt.References & Products Mentioned:Pope Leo XIII's encyclicals, especially Rerum NovarumThe St. Michael the Archangel PrayerSt. Augustine's quote: “Our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”The “Room of Tears” tradition in papal historyThe Gospel of John 13:34–35Catechism of the Catholic Church (sections on papal infallibility, marriage, and the Church)Final Charge: Pope Leo XIV isn't waiting around—and neither can you. The current crisis of masculinity is rampant in our society, but few have responded to this cultural moment like Mike Pacer in his new book “Prayers for Catholic Men.” Instead of encouraging men to simply gut it out and take responsibility, Mike encourages men to fall on their knees, and he provides them with the resources to encounter God in a meaningful and profound way. “Prayers for Catholic Men” not only teaches men how to pray, but it provides many unique and personal prayers that men at any stage in their life will resonate with. In this episode, Andrew Petiprin sits down with Mike Pacer to talk about the common struggles men encounter when praying and what resources they can use to strengthen their spiritual life. Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”The human heart has an extraordinary capacity for resilience. Even in our current era—where young men grow up bombarded by toxic influences that rob their innocence and shatter their moral imagination—something remarkable is happening. They're awakening to the sacred.Mike Pacer, president of Five Stones and author of "Prayers for Catholic Men," joins Jack to explore how prayer is transforming young men's lives against all cultural odds. Pacer shares his own journey of faith—leaving behind a successful career as a trial attorney when God simply said "leave"—and how surrendering to divine guidance led him to a more authentic life. The conversation centers around three foundational spiritual practices for men: beginning each day on your knees in surrender to God, viewing temptation as an invitation to prayer rather than a cause for shame, and committing to love the next person you encounter. These simple yet powerful habits create a framework for spiritual growth amid today's distractions.Purchase "Prayers" For Catholic Men by Mike Pacer Contact Jack: info@jp2renew.orgJacks Blog on Substack: https://johnpauliirenewal.substack.com/If you're interested in being a sponsor of the Become Who You Are Podcast, please email us at Info@JP2Renew.orgSupport the show, Sign up for our Newsletter: https://jp2renew.org/Support the show
