The New Jersey Devils made somewhat of a surprising move yesterday by reuniting with goalie Keith Kinkaid. They signed him to a one-year, two-way contract. Kinkaid had a good start during his first tenure with the Devils. However, his production progressively got worse as the years progressed. He might be looking to become the Devils' third-string goalie. Tomas Tatar recently signed a one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche. There were a lot of questions surrounding his free agency period, but we finally received some clarity.Check out James' article: https://newjerseyhockeynow.com/2023/09/11/new-jersey-devils-free-agent-tomas-tatar-switches-agent-contemplating-offer/Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The Boston Bruins going into Vancouver and beating the Canucks wasn't really a surprise. The Avalache are still rolling, and making trades before the coming trade deadline. Jack Johnson is coming back home to Colorado after being traded for Andreas Englund, but is this the right move to make for the Avs defensive depth? Was it really necessary to move Englund to bring Johnson back? Next, Keith Kinkaid was traded for Shane Bowers to give the Avs some more insurance at goalie. But most importantly, the Avalanche are playing some of their best hockey of the season with dominant victories over the Winnipeg Jets and Calgary Flames, and have already knocking on the door for the lead in the West without Cale Makar and Gabe Landeskog in the lineup. Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche
It was an interesting weekend for the Colorado Avalanche both on and off the ice.On the ice, the Avalanche finished their 3rd of three straight back to backs in dominating fashion with a 5-1 win against the Winnipeg Jets. Then came home the next day and ran over the Calgary Flames, 4-1.Out of 12 possible points in the three back to backs the Avalanche came away with 11. Yea, this team is hitting their stride at the perfect time.Off the ice, Chris MacFarland and Joe Sakic made a duo of depth trades, both of which have us scratching our heads a little. One sent Shane Bowers to the Boston Bruins for backup goalie Keith Kinkaid, while the other brings back defenseman Jack Jonson for Andreas Englund. Not the best moves the front office has made, but we shall see how they work out.We break it all down! In hockey terms, a wagon is a team that's rolling over the opposition and can't be stopped. That's the 2022-23 Boston Bruins so far this season. Keith Kinkaid stepped up and helped the Bruins beat the Sabres in Buffalo on Saturday, with Jakub Zboril scoring his first career goal. On Sunday, Boston won its 9th straight at home to begin the season, their longest such streak in team history. Tomas Nosek was the Big Bear in this one, finally scoring a goal and also dropping the gloves in defense of his friend and teammate David Pastrnak. Ian McLaren breaks down the weekend's action, and points to how the good times should keep rolling this week before the Bruins likely come down to earth a bit later this month. The Rangers are up against the salary cap, and with Kaapo Kakko still needing a new deal, there doesn't appear to be room for Tyler Motte. Assessing the Rangers' new-look goalie depth chart behind Igor Shesterkin, which now includes Jaroslav Halak and Louis Domingue! Thoughts on all six Ranger free agents that signed elsewhere: Andrew Copp, Ryan Strome, Frank Vatrano, Kevin Rooney, Justin Braun and Keith Kinkaid. The Rangers have been on fire since the trade deadline, and outside of a stinker against the Devils have the look of a team who can make a deep playoff run. On this week's episode of Live from the Blue Seats, Dave and Rob size the team up against their Metropolitan Division counterparts. While matchups against Pittsburgh and Washington seem favorable, the Carolina Hurricanes loom in round 2. The other big issue is the play of Alexandar Georgiev, who has allowed 4 goals in each of his last two starts, and isn't inspiring much confidence in him as a backup should Igor Shesterkin go down with an injury. Should the Rangers consider promoting Keith Kinkaid? Dave also quizzes Rob on some stats-based trivia, and the answers to some of the questions may surprise you. As always, the show concludes with a slew of fantastic fan-submitted questions.Follow @BlueSeatsLive on Twitter, and make sure to submit a question for next week's show! Locked On Canadiens - Daily Podcast on the Montreal Canadiens
It's our first collaborative episode with another Locked On Podcast! We were joined by Sie Morley and Kyle Demetrius of Locked On Sharks to preview the game between the Habs and the Sharks tonight. We talked about how the Sharks have opted not to play defense, and how the Canadiens need to figure out a solution to their problems on the penalty kill. We discussed not discussing Erik Karlsson's contract. We all had theories on which players on each team were probably serial killers, and Kyle came up with a fun new nickname for Keith Kinkaid that had the other hosts crying with laughter. Plus: which basic fact does Laura forget this episode? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The Trade Deadline is always one of the most exciting days on the NHL calendar for both buyers and sellers. Ray Shero turned Brian Boyle, Ben Lovejoy and Keith Kinkaid into a 2019 2nd, 2019 3rd, Connor Carrick and a 2022 5th round pick. We'll discuss the moves made so far as well as dive into anything that transpires with Marcus Johansson. We will take your calls as well about anything related to the trade deadline and some of the moves Ray has made.
While it wasn't their prettiest effort to date, the result was more of the same. The Devils used two third period goals to squeak past the San Jose Sharks 3-2 at Prudential Center. We'll break down the win, which featured two more goals from Kyle Palmieri and another strong performance in net from Keith Kinkaid.
Goaltending might be the biggest question mark for the Devils as they head into the regular season. Keith Kinkaid was great last season and will look to build on his 2017-2018 campaign, but where/when does Cory Schneider fit in? Regardless of who it eventually is getting most of the starts between the pipes, the Devils will need good goaltending if they hope to make the playoffs once again this season. We'll discuss it in depth after starting with last night's roster cuts.
Today's grades will focus on the netminders, as we just about wrap up the player grades segment of the offseason. Cory Schneider, Keith Kinkaid, Ken Appleby and Eddie Lack will all be discussed.
As we roll on through May, it's on to two more polarizing players for grades. Jesper Bratt started out strong but finished the second half of the season without much production. As for Sami Vatanen, he was instantly the Devils best defender since coming over from Anaheim. We'll also touch on Team USA at the World Championships, as Keith Kinkaid notched his 2nd straight shutout in a 3-0 Team USA win over Germany. Towards the end of the show, we react live to the latest information about the successful surgeries for Taylor Hall, Cory Schneider and Patrick Maroon.
