The Lakers started on what could be the toughest road trip of the season—their first stop...in Houston for game one of two straight games against the Houston Rockets. A second-half adjustment by JJ Redick had constant double-teams on Kevin Durant, which helped LA to force 22 turnovers. And despite scoring only four points in the first eight minutes of the fourth quarter, the Lakers were able to come up with a late-game run keyed by Luka Doncic (36 points), Deandre Ayton (7 points, 11 rebounds), and Marcus Smart (a dagger three late in the fourth) to get an important Western Conference victory, 100-92 over the Rockets.
