We travel back to late 2018 when Clemson was on a rampage to its second national title in three seasons. In the days before Clemson's rivalry game against South Carolina, we visited with Steve Spurrier for his recollections about his epic wars of words with Dabo Swinney when Spurrier was the Gamecocks' coach. As Spurrier crept closer to walking away from the game, and as he saw Swinney building Clemson into a powerhouse, the two became closer and Spurrier ended up inviting Dabo and wife Kathleen to his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. Late in 2018, Rinaldi traveled to Clemson for an in-depth ESPN story on the 10th anniversary of Swinney taking over as Clemson's head coach. As he said during this interview, the inspiration for his feature was a multi-part series Tigerillustrated.com reported on the same topic earlier that fall. The interview with Rinaldi took place as Clemson was preparing to face Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl. The Tigers went on to beat the Irish and Alabama by an aggregate 74-19 in the 2018 College Football Playoff.

Hour 1 Rex Ryan said he wouldn't be surprised if the Bills fired Sean McDermott and brought in Bill Belichick. This is probably just a hot take by Rex. Boomer would keep McDermott and get some wide receivers for Josh Allen and get back all of the defensive players that got hurt. Allen really likes McDermott, so Boomer said he's not breaking that up. Sources are saying that Arthur Blank wants Bill Belichick in Atlanta, but the front office doesn't want him. Boomer wonders why Belichick wouldn't consider a year off. Maybe the Giants job will be open after next season. Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first Boomer is worried about Jerry because he has a headache. Jerry started with Joel Embiid scoring 70 points last night and Karl Anthony-Towns scoring 62. DeMeco Ryans talked about CJ Stroud's rookie season. Todd Bowles was asked about not taking a timeout late in the game. Ochocinco does not know how to say ‘cognac'. Evan Roberts doesn't want the Lions in the Super Bowl because that's another team that would have gotten over the hump before the Jets. Boomer roots for people, not franchises. He's rooting for Dan Campbell and Jared Goff. Boomer said Kyle Shanahan is ‘a little swarmy'. Gio thinks he looks like an over the hill skateboard guy and someone who would be friends with Spike. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Dan Campbell screaming about knocking off hot teams. John Harbaugh said he's not been distracted and won't be distracted by Taylor Swift. Joel Embiid scored 70 points last night and Karl Anthony-Towns scored 62. In the final segment of the hour, Snoop Dogg said he called Pete Carroll right after he was fired and Pete told him he wanted to coach the Chargers but they didn't want him. Bill Belichick and Kirk Cousins to the Falcons could work. If the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl, could Taylor Swift go from Tokyo to Vegas and then back to Australia for her shows? Boomer said Travis Kelce needs to propose on the postgame show of the Super Bowl if the Chiefs win.  Hour 4 Rex Ryan said he wouldn't be surprised if the Bills moved on from Sean McDermott in favor of Bill Belichick. We don't see that happening. The Bills had a lot of injuries on defense and they do need another wide receiver. Boomer said the Bills have a good thing going and you can't go to the Super Bowl every season. He needs a number one wide receiver because Stef Diggs isn't it anymore. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with Joel Embiid scoring 70 points last night and Jerry wonders if it's more impressive than Wilt's 100 in his day. Karl Anthony-Towns scored 62 last night as well. Gio heard Marco Balletti on the air and he hasn't been out to dinner in 25 years and wasn't aware that lemon could be in a dessert. He also doesn't like steak. The Penguins scored a goal against themselves. The Moment of The Day involves the Korean broadcast of the Bills missed FG and the Devils radio broadcasters. In the final segment of the show, Boomer and Gio have a ‘chalk talk' at Tellers on Thursday night with Bill Cowher. They are going to be close to Gio's house, maybe they all hang out there. Gio said this time of year it's a petri dish of viruses.
