The hosts also unravel the complexity of discerning truthfulness in music, sharing their insights on the process.Join the conversation as Jon and Dan tackle the idea of Christianity being labeled as the "Most Pessimistic Religion in the World." They discuss their reactions to this evangelism approach and explore the nuanced differences between Christians doing good deeds to earn a place in heaven versus doing good deeds because they believe God has already saved them.In a thought-provoking segment, the hosts address the surprising statistic that 40% of Christians wouldn't attend their church if it was solely online. They invite listeners to reflect on whether they could work at a church that holds online-only services and explore the distinctions between in-person and online communities, questioning if churches should embrace both.Get ready for some personal insights as Dan shares his current interests, ranging from non-religious topics to anything capturing his attention. Today we have a convo with Chad Gardner of Kings Kaleidoscope. What's most intriguing about Chad is that he is an incredibly efficient, high-level, high-energy problem solver. He fits a pattern that we see over and over again in this world of kids who come from families with engineering and technical talent and use this to power high level creativity and art. chad's ability to lead creative teams and react and improvise is what leads to the aesthetic and musical excellence that Kings Kaleidoscope is known for. They are also known for having a rebellious spirit from within the Christian music and worship worlds, pushing boundaries, and an extremely DIY approach to everything. They have a new self-titled album out today, go listen on Spotify, and also a full US tour starting this week, go to https://kampkaleidoscope.com/ to find your city and get tickets.

"Trigger results that optimize outcomes." Whether it is nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, stress reduction, or any other aspect well-being to be addressed, the strategies used should be designed to produce a result that leads to the best possible outcome. What can I do to cause the effect that optimizes my hoped-for outcome? What am I doing right now in some of the most important areas of my life? Patterned behavior is the blueprint for results, whether good, bad, or somewhere in between, so the key is to develop the habits that lead to optimized outcomes. _____________________ Attributions: "Story" by Kings Kaleidoscope featuring Madison Ryann Ward. https://kingsk.bandcamp.com/ https://soundcloud.com/kingskaleidoscope https://kampkaleidoscope.com/ _____________________ My Wellness Friend website: https://www.mywellnessfriend.com/ Free 14-day Wellness Jumpstart guide: https://www.mywellnessfriend.com/wellnessjumpstart Johnny's coaching page: https://www.mywellnessfriend.com/coaching Links to resources I use to amplify my health and wellness efforts (as an affiliate I will receive compensation at no additional cost to you): AG1 - 75 high-quality vitamins, minerals, and whole-food sourced nutrients in one simple scoop JockoFuel - Assorted protein supplements and energy drinks to fuel your daily efforts. Mars Hill's music grew out of the same counter-cultural ethos that defined the rest of its ministry. Most of the church's founding members thought Christian contemporary music was too saccharine and polished for their tastes, and what evolved at Mars Hill reflected the gritty and dark sounds of the city around them. But like many other facets of the Mars Hill story, there was much behind the music. Often selected for their charisma and talent, Mars Hill bands found that few cared about the condition of their souls or the posture of their spirits.  Chad Gardner became a worship leader later in the church's history, having grown up listening to the church's music. His eventual decision to leave would mean sacrificing community and intellectual property rights over his band's contributions to the ministry. Some band members, damaged by various spiritual abuses, would leave the faith altogether. In this bonus episode of The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill, host Mike Cosper sits down with Chad Gardner, worship leader at Mars Hill, to hear the hard and beautiful stories of the music that defined the community. Peek backstage for a glimpse of what worship leadership meant in this alternative church culture, and hear stories behind some of King's Kaleidescope's albums. Finally, find out why Chad told us, “I never wanted to do a duet with Mark.” “The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill” is a production of Christianity Today  Executive Producer: Erik Petrik Produced, written, edited, and hosted by: Mike Cosper Associate produced by Joy Beth Smith and Azurae Phelps  Music, sound design and mixing: Kate Siefker Graphic Design: Bryan Todd Editorial consulting: Andrea Palpant Dilley Social Media: Kate Lucky  Theme Song: “Sticks and Stones” Kings Keleidoscope Additional Music: Brad Currah, Red Letter, Team Strike Force, The Sing Team, Citizens, and Kings Kaleidoscope. Episode 948 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com Questions in this Episode 1. We believe that the OT saints were saved by looking forward to Christ. But were they regenerated, were they what we would call “born again”? 2. How can I put sin to death in my life? 3. Is it ever ok to use explicit language in our prayers with God? For instance, there is a Christian band called Kings Kaleidoscope and they use the f-word in one of their songs. I have heard defenses for using this language because the writer was in a time of grief after the loss of his son. I bought this for a while, until I found a YouTube video of a concert where they sang this song, and there were a lot of young people belting out the f-word. Is it okay to publicize, publish, and repeat an explicative just because it is genuine and heartfelt? 4. If you accept Christ on your deathbed, can they be truly saved? 5. Does Ezekiel teach that the sacrificial system will be renewed? 6. Why didn't the disciples notice any of Jesus's other words? On this episode of GodTalk, Nora and Sam discuss there fav topic: worship! We share why we as Christ followers should be abiding by the Regulative Principle, but also realizing that so many other solid Christians don't worship the way we do, and that's okay -- they are saved. Worshipping a Holy God is so important, and it needs to be discussed more. For Worship 101, we discuss why "Surrounded" by Upperroom should not be sung in corporate worship, but provide "In Christ Alone" by Kings Kaleidoscope" for a better alternative.
