It's Zoolander-aplenty this episode as I come rip-roaring (sort-of) back from having the flu. Zoolander 2 is out on 12th February and Zoolander is one of my favourite films of all time. I a bit love Ben Stiller. Imagine my surprise, then, that there are indeed no patterns on Ravelry for anything Zoolander themed. Not one. Not even a cheeky little amigurumi Hansel... So, don't kill the president of Micronesia. Just chill out a bit more. Relax, Derek! In Enabler's Corner, courtesy of Helen Stewart of Curious Handmade and Paula of Knitting Pipeline, I enable you to the Fish Lips Kiss Heel pattern. Let's get the Sox Therapist and her kids together for a big reunion. Breast cancer ain't fun. I am offering to gift a pattern to the first ten people that reply to the thread in the group on Ravelry. Update: Sorry everyone for being in an unannounced hiatus, I'm pregnant with my second baby (21 weeks now!) and we've found out that it's a boy. Going along with Timothy's prediction of the gender. Everything related to fiber arts: knitting, spinning, Ravelry sort of disappeared from my radar. My energy level was really low during the first trimester--it's come back up in the last 5-6 weeks, but it's hard to get back into the habit of regular podcasting again after such a long hiatus! Housekeeping notes: Challenge KAL: I have a recorded session with Kim of Craft Stash (OMG her chuppah must be nearly done now!), apologies to Jan and Ellen of The Twinset Designs podcast and Louise from Caithness Craft Collective who have prepared themselves for the July and August edition of the KAL. I feel really bad for not informing about my hiatus at least, so sincerest apologies, and Big hugs for being understanding! Thanks to: rahardjo-knits (Rina) for her review on iTunes. She likes how I tell sometimes sensitive issues in Indonesia as it is, but it's not always easy! On episodes where I talk about sensitive or controversial issues, I tend to spend a lot of time on script and editing. Dr. Gemma from Cogknitive podcast talked about the show in her podcast. Thanks for the shout out :) A few things she likes about the podcast is me being non-US and non-UK podcaster, LOL. She also likes the balance of sharing my private life without sharing too much, and she mentions KnitmoreGirls, Twinset Designs, Knitting Pipeline, and 2KnitLit Chicks in the same sentence, I'm so flattered! I'm glad she sticks to the podcast even after initially finding the show a bit hard to listen to, something about the sound quality. Off The Needles Flower power headband Flower pacifier clip Cabled headband ETA: sadly no other FOs in 2.5 months!
Thanks to Paula of Knitting Pipeline for her generous review on iTunes for the podcast. So flattered to know that she's been following and listening. Paula is a big influence during the starting days of the podcast, and she's the one that mentions my unique point is indonesia. Off The Needles (02:06) Knit Your Love by Martina Behm Swatch #1 for master knitter Swatch #2 One helpful tip to preempt some of the problems that might come up: read the questions related to the swatch in advance, so I know what commonly faced problems are. But would like to knit this in linen... Other pattern options: Hitofude cardigan by Hiroko Fukatsu, lace open front swingy cardi, Criollo by Justina Lorkowska, fitted buttoned cardi with pattern detailing on sleeve hems, body hem, and neckline, or Urban by Veera Valimaki (v-neck top with swingy short sleeves)

show notes are at www.knittingpipeline.com. Sponsored by Quince & Co, Three Bags Full, and my Longaberger Home Business. Thank you, Sponsors! This episode was pre-recorded several days early as I am leaving for Camp KIP on Tuesday! Leave a show note on the blog for a chance to win a Frog Mini Project Bag and matching accessory case from Three Bags Full! Deadline for Week #2 is Thursday April 14th at noon. Spring Peepers are singing their chorus at night. Hyla Brook by Robert Frost. Needle Notes: I steeked the Norwegian Sweater and used i-cord Three Needle BO to join the shoulders. Find videos showing technique on the show blog. Eunny Jang's video on steeking is fantastic! Blethering Room: Woolly Serger Thread is not wool. It is nylon that has a brushed coating. Find extra thick Woolly Nylon at Schoolhouse Press. Tips: Use Kid Silk Haze for reinforcing heel, foot and toe. No need to cut and weave in ends. Wooly Nylon works well. Anna Lena uses Slip Stitch Heel technique on the soles of her children's socks. Love this idea! I test drove (walked) my darned socks and they feel great. I darned another sock and am getting better at my technique. Thanks to my Celtic Cross friends Karen, Heather, Rob, and Deb (and of course, announcer Kevin) who faithfully listen to Knitting Pipeline. Music is Amzing Grace recorded at a regular Thursday night rehearsal.
My second Daybreak has a garter stitch border. A Sofia Cowl looks a lot like crochet, but it really is knitted lace. I used the Suspended Bind Off on the cowl. We survived the Blizzard of 2011 and there was a little junco hopping about in the worst of it. I swatched for the Norwegian Sweater and am ready to cast on. Tips on color pattern knitting. In The Piping Circle I talk about my husband's uncle, who witnessed the piper, Bill Millin, playing on the beach at Normandy (Episode 9 of Knitting Pipeline). Review of the Historical Issue of Piecework Magazine Jan/Feb 2011. Dutch Pipes and Drums provide a medley of tunes from their CD In Harmony.
I introduce myself as a knitter and outline the plans I have for the show.
