On this very special episode we're getting back together with two mamas we talked to last year to see how the first year of parenting has gone. We talked about delivery, feeding, raccoons, Home Depot, repetitive use injuries, and Longaberger baskets. We also started this episode with a chat with "Dairy Carrie" Carrie Mess, recorded live at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin. Carrie was Caite's mentor for starting the podcast, a well known agvocate, dairy farmer, and mother of two. This ended up being a long episode, but it's one of the best demonstrations of exactly why we started this show. Husband and Wife cover Proverbs 31, thereby finishing up the book of Proverbs. The Book of Proverbs is a collection of collections, the FIFTH of which (Proverbs 30–31) are referred to as appendices.Proverbs 31: The words of Lemuel / Admonitions to a King, AND Praise of a Good (ideal) Woman and a description thereof. Lemuel's mommy actually offers some good advice with regard to being a good leader, which basically comes to this: Keep your head straight and don't get distracted by that party life. When it comes to the ideal woman... well, basically she should run the household 24/7 and never sleep. She's expected to do all the work, with the help of her slaves, and even tho the husband is supposed to bring in the main source of income, the Mrs. must engage in that side-hustle life, which is how we ended up with ridiculous try-hard MLMs like Avon makeup, Scentsy candles, Tupperware containers, Longaberger baskets, LuLaRoe leggings, Pampered Chef kitchenware, and Paparazzi jewelry. Husband wants to know why Wife hasn't purchased him a vineyard; Wife wants to know why she hasn't been given an allowance with which to do so.Join us on DISCORD: https://discord.gg/8RwwMrb5zKSkip the ads by joining Acast+ https://plus.acast.com/s/6331d364470c7900137bb57dThank you for stopping by Sacrilegious Discourse - Bible Study for Atheists!Check out these links for more information about our podcast and merchandise:Our Homepage: https://sacrilegiousdiscourse.com/Help support us by subscribing on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/sacrilegiousdiscourse Join Acast+ to enjoy our podcast adfree! https://plus.acast.com/s/sacrilegiousiscourse. This podcast is the first in a series of five that will walk you through different life phases and stages I've experienced, and how The Sunday Basket® has been my partner in productivity along the way! Join me in my time machine as we take a glimpse into what my life looked like in 2002 and how The Sunday Basket® was created to support me during this phase of life. In 2002, I had two babies, a successful career in direct sales, the same house I still live in today and of course, Greg! I also had a paper pile problem. And everyday I was playing “the paper pile game”. I would leave my ever-growing pile of papers (bills, mail, to-do lists, calls to make, checks to be deposited and everything in between) on one side of my kitchen island. Each day I would have the best of intentions to tackle that paper pile; but often I would have just enough time to shuffle the papers around before one of the babies needed me and then right back on the counter it would go. That process was repeated day in and day out. How could I make this paper pile more actionable? One night as my family slept, I finally laid out all the papers in front of me. I began to sort the paper piles into categories. By the end of that evening, I had 40 separate “piles” that were now categorized. The next day I was able to grab just one of those categories (I had separated them all into binder dividers I had on hand) and take immediate action. Oh my goodness! What a profound impact this had on me. It felt so good to finally be taking action and little by little I watched the paper pile shrink. I put all the binder dividers in a Longaberger basket (remember those?) and I began to add any new mail, paper, notes, to-dos, etc. into the basket. Then each Sunday, I would sit down and go through it. This is where I learned how to prioritize things that needed to be done before the next Sunday and plan my week ahead as a mother and direct sales leader. The impact of breaking down my paper piles into actionable chunks was HUGE. This is how The Sunday Basket® was born! Want to have your own The Sunday Basket® experience like I did? We have a FREE 5 Day Sunday Basket® Mini Course that you can join now. This course will walk you through gathering your paper piles and how to sort them in 5 daily tasks. Join me next episode as my journey takes a stark turn from babies and bliss to chaotic and unexpected. For a generation, a handcrafted Longaberger basket is something of a home decor showpiece. Dave Longaberger founded the company in 1973, and by 1975 had hired his daughter Tammy to work there. When Dave died in 1999, Tami took over as president and CEO. In 2001, a book that Dave Longaberger had written was finally published, and Tammy went on tour to promote it. That's when I met her. At the time, the Longaberger company was at its peak, with thousands of employees making all kinds of home decor products, They even built a company headquarters building in Ohio that looks like a giant Longaberger Basket.

The Sunday Basket System If you are brand new to my site, allow me to introduce myself. I’m Lisa Woodruff, a professional organizer and productivity expert. I have another podcast called Organize 365, and it’s been going strong for almost six years! This podcast is only 1 episode long. The Sunday Basket® Podcast is an actionable podcast. I hope to inspire you to take action in order to get your household paperwork organized. Where The Sunday Basket® Idea Came From Going back 18 years ago, when my kids were 6months and 2 years old, I was running a couple side businesses that equated to full-time jobs. I was a wife, mom, caretaker, homemaker, cook, laundress… sound familiar? I had a lot of paper. Plus, I had an addiction to these beautiful baskets made in Ohio called "Longaberger." You can already see where this is going! One particular evening, I decided to tackle the 12-inch pile of paper on my kitchen counter. The paper stack was disorganized and there were a lot of actions for us to take within that stack of paper – including bills to pay, adoption paperwork, invoices to send out, orders to place, etc. The first action that I took was to sort the paperwork into piles. I had 40 different actionable kinds of piles. I found I’d been paying bills late simply because I didn’t know where they were. Being disorganized can be demoralizing and you start to question yourself. It can feel like your life is out of control. This is how I felt with my 40 piles of paper. I was overwhelmed, but I knew what I needed to do. I created a plan to tackle each pile of paperwork one at a time. Well, that was 15 years ago and that’s when I consider the Sunday Basket® System to have been created. During the 15 past years of having a Sunday Basket®, I’ve gone from having just a few bits of paper in it, to having an overwhelming pile of paper. It ebbs and flows, but I always have one. In essence, it was a basket that I sorted through on a Sunday. Sunday has always been the day of the week for me when I manage to get some time to myself and I have the most energy. Let Me Help You I am a teacher by trade, a professional organizer, an Amazon no.1 bestseller, and I have taught thousands of women how to organize their homes online and in my local city of Cincinnati. I am going to help you create a system in your household for organizing your paperwork so that it never has to be overwhelming again. Get your Complete Sunday Basket with On Demand Workshop here!

Robert Burns' poem "To a Louse" is read by Alan Wood of Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland. Alan is friend of the charming Louise, host of a podcast I enjoy, The Caithness Craft Collective. I read Robert Frost's poem "A Considerable Speck" which isn't exactly about a louse, but could be. I review the books that I consider most important for those interested in Norwegian Sweater knitting. Of course, there are many out there so I just picked my favorites. Elizabeth Zimmermann's Knitting Without Tears, Knitting Workshop, or The Opinionated Knitter Sheila McGregor's The Complete Book of Traditional Scandinavian Knitting Norwegian Knitting Designs by Annichen Sibbern Bohn. For the very enthusiastic knitters and historians, consider Annemor Sundbo's Setesdal Sweaters: The History of The Norwegian Lice Pattern. There is an update on my projects, although the Norwegian sweater has been stalled for the past week. I finished Baby Slippers from Knitting at Home by Leanne Prouse. They turned out lousy. I started on a new project and picked up a pair of socks that had been in hibernation since the summer. New to share about Franklin, Knit, and Purl who seem to have flown the coop and information about avian pox, a highly contagious bird flu. I finished by Flourish Shawl, a pattern by Rose Beck and love it! A tip from a Pipeliner, SpinningLil, on using a crochet hook to lasso those nupps. A tune, Downstream, by Shira Kammen from the CD Music of Waters.
This is the full episode of 36 minutes. The original release cut off at 16 min. I finished the Swallowtail Shawl by Evelyn Clark, my Rip Van Winkle Project. This pattern gets an A+! On Saturday I visited with knitters from the guild in Springfield IL and then spent the afternoon piping at Reformation Days. I read Pipeliner notes on the ergonomic advantages of knitting the English method. The episode ends with a tune, The Rose of Kelvingrove, by The Dutch Pipes and Drums. Show notes at www.knittingpipeline.blogspot.com
I read a long letter hand-written in green ink, with a dried piece of spaghetti, dated Dec 1, 1979 from Elizabeth Zimmermann. Plus advantages of learning to knit both Continental and English/American and the answer to the question, "Does knowing the EZ method spoil you for using other patterns?" The musical selection is a Welsh harp piece, The Ash Grove, by Cheryl Ann Fulton from her album, The Airs of Wales, in honor of Elizabeth Zimmermann's Welsh heritage. Be sure to check out the show blog to see photos of the actual letter and the dried spaghetti. www.knittingpipeline.blogspot.com
Is Flo the Elephant a knitting conspiracy? You decide. I started on my Rip Van Winkle Project, The Lovely Swallowtail Shawl by Evelyn A. Clark. I muse on the Clapotis and why it is the most knitted design on Ravelry. Nature notes about a Great Blue Heron, goldfinches, and "golden autumn". A Ravelry tip on sharing projects, stash, and blog posts with groups.
Knitting Tip from Pipeliner Shirley to use a music stand as a skein holder/swift. Ravelry tip on groups and forums. Finished projects: Kaellingsjal and Cabled Raglan Baby Cardigan. New project: Citron by Hillary Smith Callis. High Notes: Cranford, Return to Cranford, and Lark Rise to Candleford. Music: Scotch Tune by Mr. Solomon Eckles (Eccles) performed by Da Camera on their CD A Celtic Celebration, available for download from Magnatune.
Were you asleep when other knitters were busy with a popular design? Let's go through our pipelines to find those projects and move them UP to the top. I'll be giving away a Longaberger basket, handwoven in Ohio, U.S.A. to the winner whose name will be drawn from the entries. Leave your name on the thread in the Knitting Pipeline group on Ravelry or in the comments on the show blog. I finished the Cedar Leaf Shawlette by Alana Dakos. We add more patterns to our list of easy lace shawl patterns, tips from listeners, and end with Heyken's Serenade from The Dutch Pipes and Drums CD In Harmony.
Approaching sock knitting with a double S strategy: sport and stealth. Pipeliner Stephanie wrote a letter to sock knitting. I read a letter from Ursula about her crows and then try to talk myself into appreciating crows more than I do. Piping Circle news about a friend from Australia, Mervyn. And top it all off with one of my favorite tracks from In Harmony by The Dutch Pipes and Drums: The Sands of Kuwait.
This letter from Elizabeth Zimmermann was written to me in Oct 1979. It is written in her own hand. View it on the show blog. In Needle Notes I discuss my completed Merope by Rosemary Hill, made with Harmony Sock Yarn from The Woolen Rabbit. This show is sponsored by my Longaberger Home Business.
A Fiber Weekend results in 3 new energetic knitters! Thoughts on teaching knitting and first projects. More easy lace patterns for beginners, Pipeliner Notes, Knitting Tips, and Butterfly awareness.
Stitches Midwest 2010 Recap with Charr, my finished Maia Shoulderette by Rosemary Hill, A Piping Adventure, Nature Notes, and a letter from Elizabeth Zimmermann. We continue our EZ Challenge of committing a technique to memory. Enter on the show blog or on the Ravelry board.
