Only weeks away from the debut of the next Life Is Strange game, Smackerly (Ray) and TheGreenGorillaGamer (Kade) join me to talk at length about the full story of Life Is Strange True Colors. We break down all of the major points in this particular story and what choices we had Alex make. And then we all realize that we may have been making the same choices, but for wildly different reasons. We question if maybe one of us made the wrong choice, but we then realize that these choices are so nuanced that there really is no wrong choice and everything that happens makes sense for the characters in Haven Springs.

StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
Hey, folks. Adnan here. Just uploading the live-stream edition of Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast episode! We -- Adam and I -- did this episode immediately after Life Is Strange: Double Exposure was announced on Sunday. Life Is Strange: Double Exposure is the brand-new title in the franchise that debuted at the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase. Life Is Strange: True Colors developer Deck Nine is again at the helm of the new Life Is Strange, which sees the return of Hannah Telle as Max Caulfield! We wanted to thank everyone who took part in the live stream with us. It was incredible to interact with our audience in real time and we even had 57 people watching us at one point, which is wild for a small channel like this. The original live stream will stay on YouTube for anyone to watch, and a massive thank you to everyone who has watched it so far. It has crossed 1,000 views, which, again, is wild to see for such a small channel. Just an FYI: the video quality for this episode is a LOT better than the stream, but because we did a live stream, the audio quality is not the same as it normally is for our pre-recorded episodes. With all that said, I hope you enjoy watching this video (again or for the first time!). We appreciate you all!

Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast is back for our first episode of March, with Adnan and Adam (who is 'being held against his will') talking all things Don't Nod Entertainment, Deck Nine and, of course, Square Enix's Life Is Strange franchise. For this episode of StrangeCast, Adnan and Adam celebrate the sixth anniversary of Life Is Strange: Before the Storm's much-beloved Farewell DLC episode. The StrangeCast hosts also turn their attention to Jusant, which won Best Sound Design at the 2024 Pegasus. Additionally, Jusant received a nomination for New Intellectual Property at the BAFTA Games Awards. Adnan and Adam also sit down to discuss the French union SJTV and its allegations against Don't Nod over staff welfare, with the Life Is Strange developer also responding to the claims made. Speaking of Don't Nod, we also flag that Benoit Gisbert Mora has stepped down from his role as deputy general manager at the French-based developer and publisher. Finally, our main topic is none other than the sad news that Life Is Strange: True Colors studio Deck Nine has been forced to lay off some of its staff amid a brutal period for developers in the gaming industry. StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.

It's the first StrangeCast episode of 2024, so sit back and listen to all things Don't Nod, Deck Nine, Square Enix, Life Is Strange and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage on Player 1 vs The World. Adnan and Adam kick things off with two news topics around Life Is Strange: Forget-Me-Not, including details on what has happened to Max Caulfield, Chloe Price and Rachel Amber in the comic series' universe. Among our news topics is Macha Lopez talking about her former role as Don't Nod Montreal's lead narrative designer after Bloom & Rage's reveal. Speaking of Don't Nod Montreal, studio creative director Michel Koch also shared some very interesting thoughts on Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange 2. Our main topic, of course, focuses on none other than the announcement of Bloom & Rage at the 2023 Game Awards. Adnan and Adam take a deep dive into the trailer, as well as share new theories and what they expect to see from Don't Nod Montreal's title. StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast is finally back but with an all-new theme and logo! It's the same Life Is Strange fan-made podcast that everyone loves, but we felt it was in need of a fresh lick of paint. A special thanks to our designer, Christine Forster, for the new logo, as well as StrangeCast co-host Adam Evalt for our incredible new theme song.
Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast is back with this very, very special episode. We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming on the show none other than Deck Nine developer Stephan Frost. Stephan is the director of The Expanse: A Telltale Series, as well as playing the likes of Tor and Anderson Dawes in the co-developed Deck Nine title. But... before our wonderful StrangeCast interview with Frost, Adnan and Adam discuss two news pieces first. The StrangeCast hosts discuss the news that Don't Nod and Focus Entertainment have pushed back the release date of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden into 2024. Our other news piece is focused on none other than Life Is Strange: Forget-Me-Not, specifically a trailer that was dropped for the Titan Comics and Square Enix collaboration. In our in-depth chat with Frost, The Expanse director opened up on Deck Nine's work on the Telltale Games-published title, as well as working with Life Is Strange: True Colors star Erika Mori and Camina Drummer herself, Cara Gee! We also find out more about Frost's experience in the industry and how he ended up working at Deck Nine, while The Expanse director also teased what we can expect from the Archangel bonus episode. StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast is back ahead of schedule for this VERY special episode. Life Is Strange is talked about here and there in this episode, but we're all about The Expanse: A Telltale Series on this occasion. And we had the absolute pleasure to welcome on none other than BAFTA-nominated Life Is Strange: True Colors star Erika Mori, who provided additional mocap for Camina Drummer in Telltale and Deck Nine's The Expanse. Erika, who is none other than Alex Chen herself in True Colors, talks to Adnan and Adam about her work on The Expanse, teaming up with Deck Nine again, meeting and collaborating with Cara Gee and much more! Just an FYI: because we've pulled this StrangeCast episode ahead of time, we won't be dropping a new episode next week. We'll be returning to our 'normal' schedule from 29th August, which is when episode 52 of StrangeCast should drop. Until then, enjoy this episode with Erika!

Adnan and Adam return in a brand-new episode of Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast podcast, with Life Is Strange: True Colors developer Deck Nine and Life Is Strange studio Don't Nod Entertainment dominating the news. We kick things off with news directly from the Xbox Games Showcase after Don't Nod announced its new action-puzzle climbing title, Jusant. Switching away from Jusant, Adnan and Adam keep it all things Don't Nod as they discuss the new footage of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden from the Summer Game Fest and the announcement of a collector's edition for the Focus Entertainment-published title. The StrangeCast hosts also turn their attention towards Deck Nine, with developers from the studio speaking about the forthcoming The Expanse: A Telltale Series. Additionally, Adnan and Adam spotlight an interview with Cara Gee about her return as Camina Drummer for The Expanse title. Following our news segment, Adam shares with Adnan his thoughts on Harmony: The Fall of Reverie so far. And our main topic for this show is celebrating Don't Nod's 15th anniversary, all the while asking what is next for the French developer in the next 15 years? StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
Adnan and Adam are back to talk all things Deck Nine, Don't Nod Entertainment, Square Enix and Life Is Strange in an all-new episode of Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast podcast. We have a lot of news to cover in this episode, so we kick things off with the news that Deck Nine and Telltale Games have announced a release date for The Expanse: A Telltale Series. Additionally, Adnan and Adam have an in-depth chat about Deck Nine after the Life Is Strange: True Colors developer was hit with shock staff layoffs. The StrangeCast hosts turn their attention towards Don't Nod Montreal, with studio executive producer Luc Baghadoust revealing that the studio is continuing its recruitment on its unannounced project. Speaking of Don't Nod, the French publisher and developer announced 'Liva's Story' DLC for Gerda: A Flame in Winter, which was developed by Bird Island (formerly PortaPlay) in 2022. Finally, Adnan and Adam round off StrangeCast's news segment by celebrating the eight-year anniversary of Life Is Strange Episode 3: Chaos Theory. Our main topic is all about GQ's divisive list of the 100 best titles of all time, compiled by the 'experts' that were consulted for the piece. Life Is Strange, unfortunately, did not make the cut, but Adnan and Adam ask if the 2015 critically acclaimed episodic title should be considered a 100 best titles of all time contender. StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
StrangeCast, Player 1 vs The World's fan-made podcast on all things Deck Nine, Don't Nod Entertainment, Life Is Strange and Square Enix, is back with an all-new episode. We (finally) have news to cover in this instalment of StrangeCast, so Adnan and Adam kick things off with a discussion on Deck Nine's Life Is Strange: True Colors emerging victorious in the 'Interactive and Immersive' category at the Peabody Awards. Life Is Strange developer Don't Nod is also back in the news, with Harmony: The Fall of Reverie getting release dates for PC and Nintendo Switch as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. The Expanse: A Telltale Series is set to appear at the upcoming Tribeca Festival, while Life Is Strange 2 Episode 3: Wastelands celebrated its four-year anniversary earlier this month. Finally, our main topic is our review discussion on Rosiee Thor's Life Is Strange: Steph's Story, with True Colors star Katy Bentz providing VO work for the audiobook version. StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
We've pushed back our Life Is Strange: Steph's Story review episode -- that's Adnan's fault, by the way -- so we've decided to visit a topic pitched by one of Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast listeners, Jace! Jace asked us to rank every Life Is Strange: Before the Storm episode, including Farewell, and every Life Is Strange: True Colors chapter, including Wavelengths. We covered Before the Storm on our last podcast outing, so now it feels right for Adnan and Adam to turn their attention towards Deck Nine's True Colors! It's been pretty quiet on the news front when it comes to Square Enix, Don't Nod Entertainment, Deck Nine and Life Is Strange. So, with that said, there's no news segment for this episode. However, enjoy our feature-length main topic on True Colors -- and thanks again to Jace for the topic idea. StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
We are BACK! Adnan and Adam are here with an all-new episode of Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast, featuring all things Square Enix, Don't Nod Entertainment, Deck Nine and, of course, Life Is Strange. The StrangeCast hosts kick off this episode with our only piece of news: Square Enix announced that Life Is Strange: True Colors has been nominated in the 'Immersive & Interactive' category at the Peabody Awards. For our main segment, we have to thank one of our listeners, Jace, for the topic suggestion! Adnan and Adam sit down for an in-depth chat on Life Is Strange: Before the Storm, with the duo ranking every episode released in Deck Nine's 2017 prequel. StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
Once upon a time, a random guy played a game called Life Is Strange: True Colors. What they didn't know, was it would be a once in a decade experience that stuck with them long after they completed it multiple times. Perhaps it's obvious that random guy is me. Nevertheless, you're encouraged to place yourself into those inaugural sentences. It would be criminal not to, because this experience is moving, nuanced, authentic, and unforgettable. Here Is My Discussion Of That Experience. #lifeisstrange #lifeisstrangetruecolors #videogames #gaming #gamingvideo
Apologies for last week's delay for Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast. As we mentioned on some of our social feeds and here on YouTube (if you haven't already, be sure to follow us on social media and subscribe to us on YouTube!), we scrapped our previous episode due to technical issues. But anyway, we are back, and the episode turned out how we wanted it to this time (thankfully!). So, without further ado, Adnan and Adam kick off this StrangeCast episode with our only news topic: the announcement that Deck Nine's Life Is Strange: True Colors and Don't Nod Entertainment's Life Is Strange 2 have both been added to the PlayStation Plus 'Extra and Premium' tiers for March. Our main topic for the episode focuses on Adam and Adnan looking back at the latter's time in the gaming industry, specifically when he wrote about Square Enix's Life Is Strange series. With that said, Adam offers his two cents on Adnan's Metacritic-approved reviews he wrote for Hardcore Gamer on Episode 3: Chaos Theory, Episode 4: Dark Room and Episode 5: Polarized, as well as the full season of 2015's Life Is Strange. The StrangeCast hosts also discuss Adnan's reviews for Episode 1: Roads, Episode 2: Rules, Episode 3: Wastelands and Episode 4: Faith, along with how he would have scored Episode 5: Wolves and Life Is Strange 2 as a whole had he reviewed them in 2019. StrangeCast can be accessed on the following podcast services (among many others!) below.
Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast, a Life Is Strange-focused podcast made by fans for fans, is back with an all-new episode. StrangeCast is a one-stop destination for all things relating to Life Is Strange publisher Square Enix and developers Deck Nine and Don't Nod Entertainment! Adnan and Adam kick things off with Don't Nod sharing details on 'Project 12,' a brand-new large-scale action RPG that is expected to arrive "beyond 2025." The StrangeCast hosts also discuss a report from Simply Wall Street that Don't Nod's shares could be '21 per cent below their intrinsic value estimate,' with Adnan asking Adam if he thinks the French developer and publisher could be a major player in the gaming industry in the future. Our final piece of news focuses on new footage from Telltale Games and Deck Nine's The Expanse: A Telltale Series being shown at IGN Fan Fest 2023. For the main topic, Adnan and Adam name their picks for Life Is Strange characters who should have had more on-screen time in the series. From Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange 2 to Life Is Strange: Before the Storm and Life Is Strange: True Colors, we take a deep dive into some of the memorable characters we've crossed paths with in the franchise. Adnan and Adam have decided to drop this all-new episode of Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast ahead of schedule because of two major news pieces we received! In episode 341, we review Dying Light 2 from Techland. This zombie parkour game is a blast to play but a buggy mess. We also play Pokemon Legends Arceus and although it's a new change for the tired formula, we question whether it's enough. Brett also has a blast with the story in Life is Strange True Colors. It's a well written game with a lot of emotion that even plays a part in the gameplay. In the news, we talk about Sony buying Bungie and what that means for their suite of studios. We also take a look at the news from Wolf Among Us 2 and explore whether or not Battlefield 2042 has a future after their delayed season. Nintendo also had a sizable Direct we talked about. Our topic of the show is about open world games and how to fix them. After Dying Light 2, we're concerned that open world games try to do too much and feel lost and broken. Too much emphasis is placed on the world which makes the story feel disjointed and unimportant after a while. How can they improve this?Show Notes:1:33 - Dying Light 224:30 - Pokemon Legends Arceus43:54 - Life is Strange: True Colors59:08 - Sony Buys Bungie, Wolf Among Us 2 and Nintendo Direct 20221:50:00 - Open World Games are Broken: How to Fix It2:24:13 - Upcoming Video Game ReleasesBecome a part of the conversation!
