It's Christmas 1988, and single mom Stephanie Harrington is stuck in a seemingly dead end job working as a maid in a high class hotel in Manhattan. That is until she meets a handsome politician who is looking to make a name for himself by gentrifying a run down Skeevo-led neighborhood. Or maybe I'm mixing this up with a movie I just watched? Lots of new paranormals in this one, DP7 style!

New year, new show! We're back to our regularly scheduled programming and ready to talk about our movies of 2002! For the first (and likely only) time on Media Made, Rod & Jess tackle two movies built around romance. First, they examine that star-crossed love story of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, and all the horrible implications therein. Then, they take a trip to New York to discuss the Jennifer Lopez romcom Main in Manhattan, with all its Cinderella sensibilities. Let's continue our JLo series with another classic, Maid In Manhattan. This is the movie where JLo and Lord Voldemort fall in love and bond over their passions for bettering the community. We believe this love story 100% and are trying to figure out how to write their sequel. Marie & Coni gush over some swoon-worthy one liners and try to keep it together since this was their last recording for the evening and many drinks were had. Believe it or not, Coni doesn't mind the little kid in this movie so much, probably cause now he's a real life heartthrob. . . And Marie gives all the brownie points to men who want to help the community. Kindness is sexy AF. Only want to listen to certain segments? We gotchu boo. With South William Street securing centre-of-the-universe status over the past week, we talk to Lord Mayor Hazel Chu about the lack of preparation for an outdoor summer, and how - if possible - a change of culture in Dublin City Council needs to occur so that the city thrives. Praise New Yawk, we gotta new ep!That's right, we couldn't resist a J-Lo flick with how much Hustlers is popping off so it's Maid in Manhattan (2002) time! Starring Jennifer Lopez, Ralph Fiennes and a ton of great supporting actors. The hustle is real for a maid (in Manhattan), especially when you're a poor, single mum, raising a young Republican. But never fear, a handsome senator-to-be doing the worst American accent might be just around a corner with a dog and Stanley Tucci in tow.Had we already made (in Manhattan) our minds up about this mixed bag? Everybody knows that before Jennifer Lopez was the multihyphenate superstar she is today, she was Jenny from the block. But most people don’t know how she made the leap from a dancer to an actor to a singer to an icon. “I always knew from a very young age that I loved performing,” Lopez tells Hillary Kerr on episode 44 of Second Life. With the help of Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas (then her agent, now a producer), who’s had a few career swaps of her own, J.Lo catapulted herself to international success. Lopez’s philosophy for mastering the pivot? “If you feel like you need to move, move.” Find out how both women paved their own paths.
"Second Act" is a comedy in the vein of "Working Girl" and "Maid In Manhattan." Jennifer Lopez stars as Maya, a 40-year-old woman struggling with frustrations from unfulfilled dreams. Until, that is, she gets the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as book smarts, and that it is never too late for a second act. Film stars Milo Ventimiglia and director Peter Segal joined BUILD.
