David Waldman wouldn't miss a KITM even for a lunch date with Stanley Tucci and the US women's hockey team, probably. That's how important you are to him! Everyone from Thomas Massie to Jamie Raskin figure that at least a half-dozen men are being protected in Epstein files. Ya think? It's driving some Democrats to vulgarity! It's driving MAGA to bellow, "HO HUM!" After all, as Donald K. Trump has been saying since 2006, everyone knew about Jeffrey Epstein and that Ghislaine Maxwell was evil. Bad Bunny is the pressing issue today. The only thing more boring to a Gop than Epstein would be ICE. Why are people so obsessed with those guys? Let's talk about something more pertinent, like the 2020 election, which may be due to uninterest them again soon. Listen, if you want something new to cry about, Trump always has something cooking. Time for some traffic problems on the Gordie Howe bridge, the international bridge Gops refused to pay for and now want half of. If you want to talk about tariffs, Gops can put you in exactly 4 to 6 months from now. Or how about never? After all, Trump's man in the Fed says, why worry? Anyhow, Trump's pick to head the Fed, Kevin Warsh, will have the economy growing three times faster than any time in history soon, why not?

This week Sam takes on another adventure quest with the 2025 movie Fountain of Youth. Join Luke (John Krasinski) as he gallivants around town stealing art with zero repercussions. After his latest art theft, he goes to London to ruin his sister Charlotte's (Natalie Portman) life by stealing from the museum she curates and getting her fired. You'd think John Krasinski could pull off making that charming, but you'd be wrong. None of that matters because now that she's been fired, Charlotte can join in on his latest scheme! What scheme is that? Why, it's leading a billionaire-backed expedition to locate the the Fountain of Youth (which neither fountains nor youths, but that's for another time) to cure the benefactor's liver cancer. Why you ask? Fame and glory. Definitely not to follow in their father's Indiana Jones footsteps regardless of what the movie tells you. This, of course, requires stealing a bunch of Renaissance art because six artists hid clues in their paintings for some unfathomable reason, though not really in their paintings, more just kinda on them. This leads our heroes to some of the lamest puzzle solving this side of The DaVinci Code which Sam complains about. A lot. This has made them a target for Interpol and Charlotte has dragged her eleven-year-old son on the lamb with her in a bid to become the world's worst mother. There's also some psychic protector of the Fountain hot on their trail, though she proves remarkably inept. None of this can prepare our hosts for the end of this movie which is so incomprehensible it completely breaks their brains. This is in no way aided by a brief exposition cameo by Stanley Tucci, and in fact only muddies things further. So join us on a rip-roaring adventure that leaves Sam begging Danielle to watch the movie herself to see if she can figure it out. We're sure it makes sense to someone, just not us.

Join Here: https://ow.ly/msoH50WCu0KIn this segment of Notorious Mass Effect, Analytic Dreamz reacts to the newly released official trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2006 fashion icon classic. Nearly two decades later, Meryl Streep reprises her legendary role as the formidable Miranda Priestly, joined by Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton, and Stanley Tucci as Nigel. The trailer teases their return to the high-stakes world of Runway Magazine amid shifting industry landscapes, with Miranda facing new challenges from a rival executive—Emily herself—in a battle for power, advertising revenue, and relevance as print media declines.Analytic Dreamz breaks down the trailer's key moments: Miranda's signature wit and intensity, nostalgic callbacks to "that's all," glamorous New York settings, and hints at deeper character arcs, including Miranda nearing retirement and potential health concerns sparking fan speculation. With David Frankel returning to direct, the film promises sharp satire, stunning fashion, and the signature blend of humor and drama that made the original a cultural phenomenon. As excitement builds for the May 1, 2026 theatrical release, Analytic Dreamz shares thoughts on the cast chemistry, trailer tone—more comedic yet still cutting—and why this sequel feels timely in today's media landscape. You first heard Katie Parla on our show a couple years ago when we recorded a live episode at Omnivore Books (hi Celia!) in San Francisco to discuss her then-newest cookbook, Food of the Italian Islands. [Listen to that chat here.] Now, Katie's back with her 11th cookbook and it's a deep-dive into Roman history and cuisine. Born in New Jersey, Katie has called Rome home for more than two decades and she's been obsessed with uncovering the city's culinary—and non-culinary—history the whole time. She's written culinary guides, hosted TV shows and podcasts, showed folks like Stanley Tucci and Andrew Zimmern where to eat in Rome, and built a tour company. This new book distills much of what she's researched—and ate—into a 350+ page opus titled Rome: A Culinary History, Cookbook, and Field Guide to Flavors that Built a City. Part guide book, part history book, part cookbook—this is a love letter to the city that's been feeding people for over 2,700 years.Late last year, I met up with Katie for an evening tour of Trastevere. What struck my most about our conversation is how Katie approaches Roman food as not a static collection of recipes, but very much a living and evolving story that reflects everything the city has been through: ancient empire, Renaissance opulence, cucina povera, Jewish ghetto traditions, modern immigration, and more.--Additional Music Credits:Beat Mekanik - Stylin' (FreeMusicArchive) This is a public episode. Stanley Tucci nearly broke the internet in 2021 when he made a Negroni on Instagram. But long before that, the award-winning actor built his career around his love of food. He created the iconic food film Big Night, he's written best-selling cookbooks, and now he eats his way through Italy on the show Tucci In Italy. In 2021 he released a memoir, Taste: My Life Through Food, which includes the revelation that a few years ago he battled oral cancer. The experience changed his relationship with food forever. He and Dan discuss that and much more, including the art of eating on camera. This episode originally aired on October 11, 2021, and was produced by Dan Pashman, Emma Morgenstern, Andres O'Hara, Tracey Samuelson, and Jared O'Connell. Actor Tony Shalhoub joins Sam to discuss living out both their dreams while traveling the world eating bread for his new CNN show Breaking Bread. This week Erin and Brennan get the worst job that a million girls would DIE for: second assistant to Miranda Priestly. They deal with getting Michelin-quality steak in 15 minutes, eating a cube of cheese when they feel light headed, and generally giving up carbs because they have been fat-shamed by Stanley Tucci. We really agree that ALL of Andy's friends suck except for Doug (JUSTICE FOR CLOSETED-DOUG!!). I mean, Nate moans most of the movie, Lily thinks it's funny to try and get her friend fired, but Doug is there to be supportive and totally understands why she needs to go to Paris Fashion Week! (To get with Christian Thompson, pretty boy editor-manager-freelance-writer-dude. [Actually, we don't know what he does but he's hot so who cares]). At the end of the day, will Miranda slightly smile or purse her lips at us? We fear the latter.

This is the true story of how a special investigative unit (called "Spotlight") of the Boston Globe spent upwards of almost two years working to uncover a massive scandal developing within the Catholic Church involving accusations of priests who were molesting children....and the systemic cover-up to protect those priests. And it was not only an important story but highly acclaimed to the point where this would win the Oscar for Best Picture that year. Directed by Tom McCarthy (The Visitor, The Station Agent, Stillwater), it also features an all-star cast lead by Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber, and Stanley Tucci. Chris Plante is a journalist, editor, and one of the sharpest voices working in video game media. After studying at New York University, he worked as freelance writer for outlets including The Guardian, Vulture, and Edge before, in 2012, co-founding Polygon, a website blending coverage of pop culture, longform storytelling, and thoughtful games criticism. Alongside his journalism, he co-wrote the story for the hit podcast series, Limetown, later adapted into a TV series starring Stanley Tucci. In 2017, after a stint overseeing the Culture desk at The Verge, he returned to Polygon as editor-in-chief. “The course of true love never did run smooth.” We watched “A Midsummer Night's Dream” with our friends Michael and Callum from “Once Upon a VHS - 80s and 90s Fantasy,” and we need a dictionary. This star-studded adaptation was riding high on the wave of late 90's Shakespeare craze, and we're digging the queerness this cast is bringing. Rupert Everett and Stanley Tucci are giving us body for days as Oberon - King of the Faeries - and Puck - a mischievous sprite, respectively. Aside from the faeries strutting around the forest in the buff, we also have some human characters that are easy on the eyes. Christian Bale and Dominic West play lovelorn Demetrius and Lysander and feature some forest frolicking after Puck hits them with the old Love Potion. We would be remiss if we left out the diva herself, one-miss Michelle Pfeiffer as Titania, Queen of the Faeries. Listen, this movie may be style over substance, but it sure is fun to watch. We also talk about our introductions to the Bard, be they cable television Animated Tales or clandestine passing of Broadway musical cassette tapes.
