The Keyboard Warriors talk UFC 238 this weekend, Gustafsson and Manuwa, Mo retire, Andy Ruiz upset victory and more!
Henry Cejudo only went and done it at UFC 238, getting an outstanding win over Marlon Moraes. All while carving out a niche as a pantomime villain. Plus there were amazing wins for Shevchenko amd Ferguson, Sterling and Yan. Then we've got the bad news of UK fans having to pay for certain UFC PPV events and the repurcussions of that. Manuwa retired, Shore is in the UFC and Loughnan on the Contender Series!
We breakdown all of last weekends action, how good is Anthony Smith, what should he do next, Gus and Manuwa retire, Rakic is scary, Joshua gets knocked out, how much we love Ruiz, why we like loses in boxing, Khabib Poirier confirmed, UFC 238 preview and more
SRS runs down the Sweden card! - Smith's big win - Gustafsson retires - Rakic KOs Manuwa!
First, light heavyweights. The big boys are fighting, and none of them are quite as good as it as they'd like you to think. But next week... next week, folks, it's UFC 238, and it's been a long time since we've seen a lineup this good. Today on Heavy Hands: How much better is Alexander Gustafsson than Anthony Smith, really? Oezdemir vs Latifi: WHO WILL BOOP FIRST Did Devin Clark teach Aleksander Rakic enough to beat Jimi Manuwa? Aljamain Sterling vs Pedro Munhoz: a main event matchup that didn't even make the main card of UFC 238
This week on Heavy Hands, we're looking back at UFC 231. Keep your eyes peeled for a preview of next weekend's Lee vs Iaquinta on our Patreon. Topics on this episode include: - Max Holloway's dramatic beatdown of Brian Ortega--how he confused and outclassed T-City for the better part of four rounds - Valentina Shevchenko beat Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Phil needs at least 15 minutes to gloat - Gunnar Nelson continues to befuddle, dropping the first round badly only to get an uncharacteristic (and disgustingly gory) comeback win over Cowboy Oliveira - Thiago Santos. THIAGO SANTOS. - THIAAAAGOOOO SAAANTOOOOOS
Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping and stand-up comedian Luis J. Gomez sit down in person for an episode from LA where the pair discuss Mike's love for California and how it compares to life in England, before pitching Luis on an exciting location for their first live show. They also preview UFC 231 from Holloway's return to the cage for the first time in nearly a year and how training injuries can change your perspective on an actual fight, plus a deep dive into the under card including JJ vs Valentina Shevchenko, Manuwa vs Santos, Nelson vs Olivera and more, plus what McGregor vs Poirier means for everyone involved and the light weight division in general, The pending NSAC ruling from 229, Why Nick Diaz may be looking for a new opponent, how to hold judges accountable, listener questions and so much more!Support our sponsors!BlueChew.com - Use promo code: BYM to get your first shipment for free! It's time. IT IS TIME. UFC 231 is upon us, and that means two of the most intriguing title fights we've had in some time--and only one of them is a "superfight," and such a good one that no one has even bothered mentioning it. This week on Heavy Hands: - How fully has Max Holloway recovered, really, and can he still be a stylistic thorn in T-City's side? - What would it take for Joanna Jedrzejczyk to beat Valentina Shevchenko, who bested her three times in Muay Thai? - Cowboy Oliveira and Gunnar Nelson: what the hell is going on - Jimi Manuwa vs Thiago Santos: will middleweights continue to take over the light heavyweight division? - Claudia Gadelha vs Nina Ansaroff: a gimme for the grappler, or perfect timing for the up-and-comer?
Sean Ross Sapp and Showdown Joe Ferraro offer up their thoughts on UFC 227 and more! - UFC 227 - Cejudo beats Mighty Mouse - Dillashaw beats Garbrandt - Who is next? - Conor vs. Khabib - Nate Diaz is back.... or is he? - Glover vs. Manuwa. - Viviane Pereira Opts To Not Re-Sign With UFC - Bellator welterweight tourney - Rizin

11 - In this episode I pick some fights for this weekend's UFC event in London with Entertainment Tonight Canada Freelancer and co-host of the Ragin MMA Podcast Shakiel Mahjouri. At heavyweight we have Mark "Hand Of" Godbeer vs. Dmitriy "Wicked Machine" Sosnovskiy. Godbeer probably owns the best nickname in all of sports, he's coming off of two wins - although his last win was because of a disqualification when Walt Harris illegally head kicked him. Then you have 10-0 Sosnovskiy, who is making his first walk to the UFC octagon, and has beaten anybody I've heard of except Fedor's brother. Oh, and he hasn't fought since May 2015.Next at lightweight - I want very badly to say Ragin' Kajan Johnson vs Stevie Ray…. but we have a name change… The Magic Man! Now I think Kajan has dropped that as well. Kajan has won 3 straight against, I don't want to say unknown fighters but I personally am not very familiar with them. His last fight a knockout in the 3rd round Adriano Martins. Stevie Ray is coming off a loss to Paul Felder, but before that had two very close decisions go in his favor against Ross Pearson and Joe Lauzon. At light heavyweight a rematch from April 2015 with Jimi Manuwa and Jan Błachowicz In the first fight, Manuwa took home the decision. This is an interesting rematch, Blachowicz is coming off of two wins, and Manuwa is coming off of a devastating knockout loss to Volkan Oezdemir that knocked him out of title contention for the time being. In the main event, we have heavyweights Fabrício Werdum and Alexander Volkov. This is one where recent wins and losses don't exactly mean I see a clear winner. Werdum hasn't lost but twice since June 2011, and that was to current heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic and a decision that went to Alistair Overeem. Volkov is coming off of five wins in a row, but against lesser competition like Timothy Johnson and a possibly declining Stefan StruveI also talk with Shak about why this card has special meaning to him, how we met, and more!UFC Fight Night 127: Werdum vs Volkov will be held on March 17, 2018, at The O2 Arena in London, England. Please don't place any bets based on my picks!Interested in being a guest? Will UFC Fight Night 107 be remembered as the evening in London when Jimi Manuwa stomped into the collective consciousness of the light heavyweight division and announced he wasn't there to make friends? Perhaps. Perhaps. What is an undeniable fact, at least according to Ben and Chad, is that Manuwa did about as good a job utilizing his screen time on The Fight Pass Dot Com as anyone could have imagined on Saturday. First, Manuwa put Corey Anderson to sleep with a left hand, then got on the mic to call for a title shot, then went to the press conference to say Jon Jones tarnished his legacy with steroids. So, yeah, all in a night's work for The Paper Boy. In addition to that, your dudes discuss Gunnar Nelson's win over Alan Jouban and also, goddamn it, they were just kidding about having Kelvin Gastelum fight Anderson Silva. All that, plus AYFKM and Just Sayin' Stuff.
