Njegov lik obavijen je misterijom i legendama: priče govore da je poznavao Lenjina i Staljina, da ga se kralj Aleksandar plašio, da je učestvovao u organizovanju vojnog puča 27. marta, da je imao desetine ili stotine lažnih identiteta i da je bio ključna figura sovjetske obaveštajne mreže na Balkanu. Ali, koliko od svega toga zaista stoji? Da li je Mustafa Golubić bio vrhunski špijun, ili je deo njegove biografije pažljivo građen u posleratnoj mitologiji i propagandi?
