What do you do when everything you built is taken from you in a single storm? Almost no one thinks that question will ever land on them personally, and then one day it does. Pastor Brian preached this message to a congregation whose city had just been devastated by an EF3 tornado, and the answer he gave is one every person is going to need at some point.In this sermon, Pastor Brian opens with a hard truth. On July 27, 2026, an EF3 tornado over a mile wide touched down for more than twenty minutes and tore through the neighborhoods of Appleton, Menasha, and Neenah. Miraculously, no one was killed. But the loss will take generations to rebuild. And in a moment like that, everyone around you starts watching to see how you respond. Not because you asked for the spotlight, but because the world is quietly asking a question in every disaster. Anthony Fauci testifies under oath before the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, after more than 1,100 pages of his private diary have been make public. They are raising questions about how he responded to secret intelligence and whether his private assessments matched what he told the American people. Fauci has not publicly responded to the latest disclosures.In honor of the late Senator Lidnsey Graham, Senators advance a Russia and Iran sanctions bill that was championed by him. The bill aims to cut off Russia's profit from oil and gas sales and to restrict funding for Iran. These actions also heavily impact China, with Senator Richard Blumenthal saying it's intended to punish China and India for financing Russia's war. A final vote on the bill is expected later this week.Residents across northeastern Wisconsin are beginning the difficult task of cleaning up after one of the state's strongest tornadoes in decades. The National Weather Service's preliminarily readings rated the tornado an EF3 with winds approaching 140 mph. The twister stayed on the ground for more than 20 minutes, carving a roughly 12-mile path from Appleton through Menasha before lifting over Lake Winnebago.

An apparent tornado on Monday caused catastrophic damage in the Fox Valley. The city of Menasha was especially hard-hit. 

Three Wisconsin counties have been the first to detect tar spot in corn fields. Pam Jahnke gets the latest update from Dr. Damon Smith, UW-Extension Plant Pathologist. Smith says the plant symptoms we're seeing today started with injury and infection weeks ago. Smith says the current hot and dry weather in Wisconsin has successfully lowered the risk of major crop diseases, providing a "saving grace" after a wet, mild June that initially raised concerns about disease potential. Current infections resulted from favorable conditions three to four weeks ago. Smith says disease pressure will likely increase if rainfall returns, creating a "race" to mature the corn crop before the disease compromises it. He says advancements in hybrid genetics are providing "partial resistance," which helps by creating smaller spots and slowing down secondary infection cycles, allowing the crop more time to reach maturity. Smith is also keeping an eye on the potential for white mold in Wisconsin soybeans. He says, again, the risk for white mold has dropped significantly due to the hot, dry weather. He does not though that irrigated fields continue to face a different risk profile and should still be monitored carefully. We get a break from some of the heat today according to Stu Muck. That will give folks in the Fox Valley a chance to clean up after a tornado rumbled through Menasha. Rainfall reporters said they received anywhere from 1.5" of rain to literally nothing in the whirlwind weather activity that crossed the state. He looked at 3 pieces of popular farm equipment and found out that the equipment's maintenance matters. Dean and Director Glenda Gillaspy announced that she will move into a new role serving as the university’s director of the Wisconsin Rural Partnerships Institute. Hello Mexican cattle! USDA has announced it will allow Mexican cattle back into the United States despite ongoing concerns over New World Screwworm. John Heinberg, market advisor with Total Farm Marketing in West Bend says this sent the cattle market into a tailspin. He notes that this sell off has been building. Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every single day. We are in the Gospel of Mark. Today, we're reading Mark 1:21-45: And they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and was teaching. And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes. And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him. And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.” And at once his fame spread everywhere throughout all the surrounding region of Galilee. And immediately he left the synagogue and entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. Now Simon's mother-in-law lay ill with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her, and she began to serve them. That evening at sundown they brought to him all who were sick or oppressed by demons. And the whole city was gathered together at the door. And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. And he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him. And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. And Simon and those who were with him searched for him, and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.” And he said to them, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.” And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons. And a leper came to him, imploring him, and kneeling said to him, “If you will, you can make me clean.” Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, “I will; be clean.” And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean. And Jesus sternly charged him and sent him away at once, and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a proof to them.” But he went out and began to talk freely about it, and to spread the news, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter a town, but was out in desolate places, and people were coming to him from every quarter. — Mark 1:21-45 Jesus walks into the synagogue and doesn't just teach—He commands. His words land differently. Not like the scribes. Not recycled thoughts or secondhand opinions. Jesus speaks with authority, and it stuns people. It's the kind of authority that silences demons and heals sickness with a touch. This is power and compassion, side by side. He speaks, and spirits flee. He touches, and sickness disappears. He lifts a woman by the hand—and she rises, healed, and starts serving. Jesus isn't just full of authority—He uses it to serve, not dominate. He doesn't flex to impress. He acts to restore. That's the kind of King He is. And word spreads. Fast. People start crowding the door. Sick, desperate, oppressed—everyone wants a moment with Jesus. But here's the key: the ones who encountered Him didn't just get relief, they experienced release. Not just healed from something—but freed for something. When Jesus shows up, things change. People don't stay the same. So, here's the question: Have you allowed his authority to change you? Not just inspire you—but actually disrupt, heal, and transform you? #JesusHeals, #SpiritualAuthority, #FaithOverFear ASK THIS: What do you notice about the way Jesus uses His authority? How does His power give you comfort instead of fear? Where do you need healing or freedom today? What's stopping you from bringing that to Jesus right now? DO THIS: Surrender an area of your life where you've been resisting Jesus' authority—ask Him to transform it today. PRAY THIS: Jesus, I don't just want to admire your power—I want to be changed by it. Heal what's broken in me, and lead me in freedom. Amen. PLAY THIS: Same Power.
