Alex speaks with Mike Felger, co-host of 98.5 "The Sports Hub's" afternoon drive "Felger and Mazz" show, and the face of Comcast Sports Net New England. Alex and Felger discuss Mike's continued criticism of the Boston baseball media this season for not asking probing questions, and what Felger's take on the Rich Shertenlieb "psuedo-controversy" is. Also, when Felger was a beat writer, how did he attempt to balance maintaining relationships with asking tough questions? Alex and Felger also talk about the key to the success of "Felger and Mazz," and how WEEI has changed since 98.5 launched in August of 2009. In addition, Alex and Felger touch upon the Red Sox, and whether ownership will be able to resist signing Josh Hamilton or Zack Greinke this offseason. The Yankees are in-town for a three game series, and the Red Sox have an opportunity to play the role of spoiler. Alex spots some patterns in the Yankees' play this September, and the Red Sox' play last September. Alex also gives his opinion on what Jacoby Ellsbury's future with the team is, and why Alfredo Aceves should be cut immediately. In the "Around the League" segment, Alex looks at the AL East standings, which remain tight at the top. The new playoff format has generated the best September in recent memory, as 19 of 30 teams are within 5 games of a playoff spot. Plus, will Roger Clemens actually pitch for the Astros this month?
