Dan & David, salt & caramel, electronica & hip hop: pairings whose time has come. The second annual Trillectro festival happens on August 17 at the Half Street Fairgrounds across from Nationals Park. The concert extravaganza was conceived by DC to BC, a group of young visionaries who decided that Washington's disparate party scenes had been apart for long enough. Combining stellar electronic acts like NADASTROM, Alex Young and Tittsworth with top quality hip hop talent like Wale, Phil Adé & Travis Scott, Trillectro offers the best of both worlds to a unified audience of party people. DJ Carnage personifies both genres and stands as an example of a 21st century artist who perfectly centers the Trillectro venn-diagram. Dan & David preview the festival and share tracks from all the artists mentioned in addition to Misun, Shy Glizzy, DJ Sliink, Goldroom, & Casey Veggies. I've finally sat down and created the mix that I've wanted to create for months now!!! This is definitely a sound unlike any of my previous Podcasts and yet it's a sound that I love so much. Inspired by my recent late-September week in NYC, this is a much more down-tempo / chill and old-school house inspired set, with quite a bit of alt influence as well. This is the kind of set you'd hear out in NYC at Cielo, Griffin and The Park (so, consider it my audition tape for those places... Jared & Josh, Brian & Shawn!). It's the kind of set that you can put on for a long car road trip or an afternoon sitting by the pool. And I'm happier with it than pretty much any Podcast to date. This one is a journey... with very distinct sections... so join me on it. It's also in 320 kpbs bit rate (all of my other Podcasts to date have been 192), so while it's a large file to download (220 MB -- it is also an hour & 1/2 long!), the sound quality difference should be worth it! I'm going to be posting 3 more Podcasts this month -- ROCK-TOBER (Parts 1 &2)... which is much more my typical high-energy sound, and a special mix for my house-mates, J & G... with some of their favorite songs of all time. Please download and if you like it, PLEASE post about it on your own social media pages for me! I want to get more downloads on this one than any other Podcast to date. Tracklist: "Live In This City," Dragonette "Push It Fembot" (A Rokk Pie N Mash Up), Robyn vs. Salt N' Pepa "Robot" (The Supermen Lovers Remix), Situation f./Herbatronic TRFTF 3000 "Disparate Youth" (The 2 Bears Remix), Santigold "Super Love" (Fred Falke Mix), Lenny Kravitz "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" (Joe Gauthreaux Mix), Coldplay vs. David Penn "Mas Que Nada" (Bimbo Jones Remix), Richard Grey and Nari & Milani f./Alexandra Prince "Mayhem," Kenny Summit f./Justin Schumacher "Weooh," Marco Finotello f./Lily Latuheru "Weekend" (Josh the Funky 1 Remix), Class Action "Lookout Weekend" (Giuseppe D Radio Mix), Eva Soul "Pussy ("Back To Life")," Nadastrom "Express Yourself," N.W.A. Twenty-three year old music producer, Ryan Meblin, has been tearing down the walls surrounding conventional bass music since early 2008, when he and a former bandmate formed the internationally recognized dubstep duo known as NTRLD. From 2008-2010, the two continued to produce chart-topping singles and official remixes for major label artists including Far East Movement (Interscope), Dev (Universal), and Major Lazer (Downtown/Mad Decent). Following the split of NTRLD, Meblin adopted a new moniker, Carrier, and began to reinvent himself as an eclectic producer with a long career ahead of him. With his first official remix of Dev's hit single "Bass Down Low" hitting the blogosphere at an unexpected 100BPM, fans of Carrier's early work knew immediately that his sound was evolving. Later that month, he released his official drumstep remix of Vaski's "Spaceman" alongside Dillon Francis and Total Recall on Play Me Too Records. Within a week, Carrier's drumstep remix rose to #12 on Beatport's drum and bass chart. Less than one year later, Carrier now has a handful of releases under his belt, and two forthcoming EPs coming out in late 2011. He has consistently given away material to his fans for free via the internet, and never intends to stop rewarding them for their incredible support. In less than four years of DJing professionally, Carrier has been blessed enough to share the stage with some of bass music's biggest legends, including Noisia, Andy C, Goldie, Subfocus, N-Type, Bassnectar, Freq Nasty, Nadastrom, Antiserum, SPL, Ill Gates, Borgore, 12th Planet, Sluggo, J. Rabbit, 6Blocc, and Reid Speed. Carrier's performances have been known to hit dancefloors hard when they least expect it, seamlessly segueing through different genres and BPMs. His influences span from the broken beats and thick basslines of drum and bass and dubstep, to the dancefloor-smashing rhythms and synth lines of moombahton and tropical bass, all finely blended together with a dash of electro flavor to spice things up a bit. Moombaton production & DJ two-piece Sazon Booya made up of NYC natives Mr.Vega & DJ SAV, have been making substantial waves across the blogosphere with their original moombahton productions since the beginning of 2011, and they've received countless nods of respect from top tier tastemakers from around the globe ever since.Sazon Booya debuted their first track "IIuvia" via moombahton creator Dave Nada's soundcloud and website, to much success; instantly gaining play support from Munchi, Heartbreak, DJ Sabo, Obeyah, Skrillex, Boyfriend, Fellow and of course Dave Nada himself. With over 17k views to the video, they followed up on July 4th, 2011 with their 7-track-deep debut EP titled "La Bomba". The "La Bomba" EP soared as far as #14 on Beatport's top 100, placing among the likes of Zedd, Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Feed Me, Crookers, Mord Fustang and more. As of late, Sazon Booya have been furiously at work on their forthcoming EP featuring collaborations from Toxic Avenger (IHeartComix), Zuzuka Pondersa, Anna Yvette (Atlantic Records), and Amy Douglas (Top Billin). The EP is set to drop early 2012, while their eager readiness to drop their forthcoming releases corresponds conveniently well with their massive show with Nadastrom and Digitalism at Webster Hall on December 2nd. Their 3rd music video, "Cochinas" premiered at the beginning of October on globally renowned label/blog Mad Decent along with a brand new Sazon remix of Skylar Grey's Dance Without You to celebrate the debut. Between countless marathon studio sessions and miscellaneous high-profile video projects, Sazon Booya have traveled the states and parts of Europe playing with top acts such as Laidback Luke, Benny Benassi, Skrillex, Zedd, Nadastrom, Porter Robinson, Munchi and more; as well as on a majority of the Moombahton Massive dates, playing amongst every established name in the Moombah realm. Fully amped to rack up some more frequent flyer miles, Sazon Booya have confirmed more than a dozen dates that they will be joining the North American cross continent bass-laden coup d'état that is the almighty MOTHERSHIP TOUR, spearheaded by Skrillex, and joined by industry heavy weights, 12th Planet, Foreign Beggars, Nadastrom, and more. 'Photo by Sexy Fitsum/iLLIMETER' "Salad Days" is a hardcore punk mix that Nadastrom and DJ Stereofaith pieced together. Having been raised by the DC punk and hardcore scenes in the late 80s and 90s, they give a nod to their musical roots and continue to refer to the DIY ethos as working DJs and producers. The "Salad Days" mixtape is a celebration of the energy and passion of punk and hardcore music.
