Hour 2 with Joe Starkey and Paul Zeise: It's probably a must-win game for the Penguins today against the Capitals. It's old school, vintage Pens-Caps with playoff implications on the line. We hope the stars shine bright. Penguins-Capitals memories that stand out in the Crosby-Ovi rivalry. Games are being canceled because of the eclipse. We clearly don't understand the eclipse well enough.
Hour 1: Tonight is a huge one for the Penguins as they get set to meet the Capitals in DC. It is a de-facto playoff game for both teams. Do you trust the Penguins to pull off a big one at 7 pm? What would it mean if the backup goalie comes up again? Who are you counting on in a game like this? We heard audio of Mike Sullivan ahead of tonight's game between the Pens and Caps. "It's bad pedagogy." It's a new year! But like the Washington Capitals, this pod is back on its traditional and beloved bullshit. And we've lots to discuss, including Ethan Bear, the Pens-Caps nursing home derby, leech fears, the return of Dima, hot mic vendettas, broken jaws, classiness, and whether or not we want Dylan Strome to face Connor McDavid at the ASG in front of god and everyone so we can study his micro-expressions in gif form. Locked On Penguins - Daily Podcast On The Pittsburgh Penguins
Happy Wednesday, Penguins fans! Hunter starts the show by going over some news and notes from today's practice as the Penguins welcomed a couple of players back but also got some bad news on goaltender Tristan Jarry. He goes into Kasperi Kapanen and Josh Archibald practicing and wonders whether one or both will play in these final two games before their bye week or if they'll be rested. He looks at the impact that Archibald could bring to the fourth line and how he looks to be a bit closer to returning than Kapanen. He then looks at how it might not be so bad that Jarry is out until after the All-Star Break as that can give him time to rest up whatever new ailment is bothering him. After that, Hunter shifts to previewing Round 2 of Pens-Caps as the Penguins are set to visit Washington DC for the second and final time on Thursday. He catches up with the Caps as they've fallen off a little bit after their hot streak but that doesn't mean they can't be dangerous. Hunter analyzes what to expect from their top players as Backstrom and Oshie are likely to come back in this one, plus how Alex Ovechkin is continuing to still defy time. He also gives some keys for the Penguins to win this game after they had some great success against them just a few months ago. Finally, Hunter ends the show with a look at a potential trade target for the Penguins as the deadline is creeping up fast. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Locked On Penguins - Daily Podcast On The Pittsburgh Penguins
Oh boy, there are A LOT of changes that were made at Penguins practice on Tuesday. Hunter starts the show with some new-look lines and pairings as Mike Sullivan has had enough of the same old stuff. What did he do to the forward lines? Is Rakell back up with Crosby? Is Hallander getting the nod over Kapanen? He then looks at the defense and why Marcus Pettersson deserves this shot with Kris Letang. He looks at the numbers from MP28 so far to show the listeners just how good he's been at providing offense and limiting chances against. He then discusses why POJ also rightfully got a promotion while then discussing the logic for why Brian Dumoulin got moved down to the third pairing. Will he easily crush those minutes? Could it be a similar situation to how good Mike Matheson was in the last two seasons? After that, Hunter previews the game against the Washington Capitals, a team that has also struggled a lot this season. He looks at how banged up they are, especially at forward, and how the Penguins can exploit that on Wednesday. Hunter also gives some keys to victory for the Penguins as this rivalry is always must-watch on television. All that, plus much more on this episode of Locked On Penguins.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. February 15, 2021 | The Hockey Betting Podcast The roads may be icy today from Texas to Qikiqtaaluk, but Brian and Cam are on fire like they’re racing in the Daytona 500 on this Monday, February 15, 2021 episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast. Brian and Cam dive in to the NHL betting lines for today’s games and for the upcoming games on Tuesday February 16, and Wednesday February 17, 2021. They also cover everything else under the sun - or under a nor'easter in this episode - including whether Canada needs to make inclusive holidays more inclusive or if Cam’s inferiority complex is just another flavor of ginger ailments. Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast to get all of Brian and Cam’s shenanigans, sharp betting insights and NHL free picks. Monday, February 15, 2021 NHL Betting Lines, Analysis, Picks St. Louis Blues at Arizona Coyotes 2019's Stanley Cup champions have rebounded from losing three in a row to threatening to win the final trio of games in a marathon regular-season series. After so many in row, Cam just can't deal with any more Arizona vs St. Louis match-ups, but overall, he thinks it has made for some quality pond shinny. Brian wonders if backup GK Ville Husso can handle the NHL crease, though camaraderie between teams in coronavirus protocol has led to a lack of vinegar and physicality. Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast to catch their take on today’s afternoon game. Florida Panthers at Tampa Bay Lightning Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast. New York Islanders at Buffalo Sabres Jean-Gabriel Pageau two goals led New York to triumph over Boston, but Buffalo's defense pairings are reaching to full depth following a COVID-19 scare. Columbus Blue Jackets at Carolina Hurrcanes Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast. Ottawa Senators at Toronto Maple Leafs Toronto's stinginess makes the Maple Leafs a solid "under" trend. Ottawa's scoring punch isn't scary, but the Senators could impact a lot of Monday parlays. Tune in to today’s episode of The Hockey Betting podcast and hear Brian and Cam's advice on how to avoid costly juice when picking NHL favorites to win. Chicago Blackhawks at Detroit Red Wings The guys discuss a sneaky main-market prediction on a get-well-game opportunity for both clubs. Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast for the details. Nashville Predators at Dallas Stars Brian's not touching Nashville's odds to win, but Cam's "in all day" on a Stars-Preds prediction. Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast and hear Cam’s betting tips and free NHL picks. Winnipeg Jets at Edmonton Oilers Cam thinks there's a line worth looking at, and dishes on Jets-Oilers goaltending and "SKINNERRRR!" before Brian reveals his O/U betting system for the back-to-back games dominating the NHL's schedule. Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast and hear the guys’ discuss NHL betting trends and how to identify betting angles in the NHL that you can capitalize on. Calgary Flames at Vancouver Canucks Vancouver is glad to be home, but Brian says the Canucks are a piñata. And with Vancouver being responsible for one of their misses from last Thursday's (02/11/2021) episode, in addition to their letdown season so far, Cam likes Calgary. Go figure. Anaheim Ducks at San Jose Sharks Brian offers a crucial angle on Anaheim's prospects to win, though the guys’ mistrust of San Jose factors equally in the prediction for Monday night. Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast to hear their take on this match-up. Tuesday, February 16, 2021 NHL Betting Lines, Analysis, Picks New Jersey Devils at New York Rangers Could the Devils be the next upset-winner thanks to a long rest? Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast to find out why and when it could be time to wager New Jersey. New York Islanders at Buffalo Sabres Buffalo comes off the shelf after a long layoff, leading Cam to point to a Monday-Tuesday trend angle. As always, Brian has much to say about the Sabres. Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast to hear the conversation. Washing Capitals at Pittsburgh Penguins Brian sounds alarm at Sid the Kid's slew-foot attack on Nic Dowd, which could exacerbate bad blood in the Pens-Caps rivalry. Ryan O'Reilly may have tolerated Crosby's "friendly" cheating, but there's no guarantee the 2021 Capitals will. Cam identifies a value-pick on the moneyline. Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast for Cam’s free NHL picks. Nashville Predators at Dallas Stars Dallas is a (-155) favorite to defeat Nashville, which plays right into the guys’ “avoid-the-juice” angle, as they also discussed earlier on today’s episode. Listen to The Hockey Betting Podcast to hear Brian and Cam’s NHL betting strategy discussion. Minnesota Wild at Los Angeles Kings Once again, another NHL club is coming off the shelf with a chance to surprise. Brian dishes on watching Monday's outcomes before making a final call on Minnesota. Listen to this episode of The Hockey Betting Podcast to hear the play.
