L’an dernier le CH 10e pire différentiel à -20.

Pete DeBoer was fired by the Dallas Stars just days after their playoff exit, despite three straight conference finals and a strong record—his handling of goalie Jake Oettinger and blunt postgame comments may have factored in. Meanwhile, Marco Sturm (Boston) and under-the-radar Dan Muse (Pittsburgh) landed head coaching jobs as the NHL’s hiring cycle continues. On the ice, the Oilers took Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final in OT with a picture-perfect team goal finished by Draisaitl, as captain Connor McDavid came alive late in the game. Sam Bennett’s controversial 1st period goal stood after a failed goalie interference challenge, and Edmonton’s depth—including Kapanen and a resurgent Kane—shined. Oh, and Leafs fans were split as Rory McIlroy repped the team at the Canadian Open, sparking more than a couple of "golf" chirps.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Hour 2 of the Big Show with George Rusic & Matt Rose is on Demand! To kick off the hour the guys are joined in studio by Brent Krahn! Krahn and the guys catchup and discuss game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals, the Oilers depth showing up, Stuart Skinner's steady performance, the importance of Kapanen, McDavid's PK ability, and the toll physically this series has on the players.(15:37) Later on, the guys dive into the controversial goaltender interference goal scored by Bennett in game 1, should it have counted, did Bennett know what he was doing, should Knobloch have challenged? The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Media Inc. or any affiliate.

It's Wednesday evening, which means a new episode of Better Lait Than Never has been recorded, edited, and mastered to perfection. With all of my editing chops put to the test, this week's podcast is ready to massage your brain feelings with an hour of Oilers-adjacent discussion.I kicked off this week's podcast with an update on the Dollars for Dogs campaign that kicked off on Monday. As much as I thought it would be fun to eat nothing but hot dogs for as long as possible, eating only glizzies and nothing else has proven to be difficult. The good news is that we've already raised over $1000 for charity, and I also had a pair of tickets to give away on today's episode courtesy of Mistaken Mexican. With my own nonsense out of the way, I turned the podcast back toward the Edmonton Oilers. Starting with Monday's 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings. Not only was Skinner fantastic between the pipes, but that may have been one of the Oilers' best defensive efforts all season. Needless to say, it was a big win. On the downside, the Kings are a dirty hockey club, and there is no better example than the $5000 fine Adrian Kempe was hit with for slew-footing. Even with Kapanen jumping in immediately, that play re-sparked my concerns about the Oilers getting tougher. Finally, I wrapped up this quick episode of BLTN with a guest edition of the Righteous Sack Beating before wrapping up the show with another round of voicemails. The inbox was quiet again for the third consecutive week, but I still got a healthy chuckle from your ideas, feedback, and voicemails. As always, I sat back and laughed while listening to everything that's been on your mind over the last seven days.
The Edmonton Oilers returned from the Christmas break with a tough 4-3 loss in overtime to the L.A. Kings. Tom Gazzola, Hernan Salas and Shawn Belle discuss the good performances by Arvidsson, Kapanen, Ekholm and details that cost the Oilers in today's game along with Evan Bouchard's poor performance once again. Plus postgame video from head coach Kris Knoblauch and winger Viktor Arvidsson as well as the Turning Point and Player of the Game.
