In Jude's closing benediction, we're given one of the most stabilizing promises in all of Scripture: God is able to keep you from stumbling (Jude 1:24). In this episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explains why saving faith is not only God's gift—but also God's sustaining work. You are not kept by fear-driven performance; you are kept by Christ's faithful power. Dr. Youssef brings this promise to life through the imagery behind Jude's words: Jewish wedding traditions. In betrothal, the groom would seal the commitment with a costly dowry—then return home to prepare a place—then come again for his bride with joyful announcement. In the same way, Jesus—our Bridegroom—paid the highest price with His own blood, returned to the Father to prepare a place, and will come again. And when He does, He will present His redeemed bride without blemish or stain, declaring what His cross and resurrection accomplished. This devotional strengthens believers living in dark seasons of apostasy and pressure: keep your eyes on the future Christ secured. When you feel weak, unstable, or tempted to spiral into “trying harder,” remember the Truth—Jesus is holding you up. He will keep you from falling. Prayer: Father, help me to rest in the Truth that You will never let me go. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “[T]o the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen” (Jude 1:25). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Many believers struggle with spiritual imbalance—either stuck in regret over the past, overwhelmed by the present, or distracted by speculation about the future. In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef shows how Scripture calls us to a complete, steady picture of faith: past, present, and future held together. You'll explore how key parts of the Christian life span all three: Salvation: you were saved when you trusted Christ, you are being saved as God works in you daily, and you will be saved eternally in glory. Transformation: the Holy Spirit made you new at conversion, continues shaping you into Christlikeness now, and will one day perfect you forever. Kingdom of God: the Kingdom arrived with Jesus, reigns in believers' hearts today, and will be fully revealed when Christ returns. Prophecy and the End Times: God's Word shows promises fulfilled, being fulfilled, and still to be fulfilled with precision. This devotional invites you to live with grounded maturity—learning from the past without being trapped by it, walking faithfully in the present, and anticipating the future with awe-inspiring hope in Jesus Christ. Prayer: Lord, give me wisdom and understanding as I look into Your Word to see Your sovereignty at work. May I be filled with joy, love, and thankfulness as I remember the past, follow You in the present, and anticipate my future with You. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplatethe Lord's glory, are being transformed into his imagewith ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18). There's one essential Truth every believer must grasp: grace equals power—supernatural power that can raise a dead soul to life and carry you through the darkest seasons. In this episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef anchors your heart in God's promise to Paul: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Dr. Youssef explains why thorns matter: without weakness, we would rarely see—or be able to testify to—the sufficiency of God's grace. Grace is most clearly displayed when self-reliance collapses, when circumstances feel heavy, and when you realize you need God more than you need relief. You'll also be reminded of God's steadfast commitment to finish what He started in you (Philippians 1:6), to empower you for godly living (2 Peter 1:3), and to keep you secure in His hands forever (John 10:28–29). No sin is beyond the atoning reach of Christ's blood, and no trial is too dark for the Gospel's sustaining hope (2 Corinthians 4:16–18). If you've been staring so long at the thorn that you can't see the rose of grace, this devotional calls you to look up—remember God's promises—and rejoice in the power of His sufficient grace. Prayer: Lord, help me to take my eyes off my thorn. May my gaze instead be fixed upon Your throne. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God's grace given me through the working of his power” (Ephesians 3:7). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. If you feel like progress is slow, or you are questioning where you are heading, this moment is for you. Jesus is not finished with you. He is still shaping, still leading, still completing what He has begun. Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to You in this moment. You know where I feel uncertain. You see the places where I wonder if anything is changing. And through Jesus, You remind me that my life is still in Your hands. You have started something in me. And You are not leaving it unfinished. So I pause here. I take a breath. I bring my journey back to You. Jesus, I bring the areas where I feel stuck. The places where I feel slow or unsure. The moments where I question my progress. I place them before You. I release the frustration of not seeing immediate results. I release the doubt that nothing is moving forward. I release the fear that I have missed something along the way. I release it to You. And now, I receive.I receive confidence that You are working in me. I receive patience for the process I am in. I receive strength to keep moving forward. Jesus, continue what You have started in me. Shape my life according to Your purpose. Guide my steps with clarity and peace. Help me to trust the process, even when I cannot see the full picture. Strengthen my faith to keep going. Steady my heart when I feel uncertain. Remind me that You are faithful to complete what You begin. I receive. And now I continue with confidence. Not rushing. Not forcing. But trusting You step by step. Jesus is with you now. You are not alone in this moment. Across the world, lives are being shaped with purpose. From Johannesburg to Lima, from Toronto to Manila, Jesus is working in hearts and bringing His plans to completion. Jesús, confío en que estás obrando en mi vida y completarás Tu obra. It's part of human nature to perform—for God, for ourselves, and for others. In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef identifies two common traps that quietly distort Christianity: The Do-Gooder: believing enough good deeds, kind words, or moral improvement can earn heaven—yet Scripture says our best righteousness apart from Christ is “filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6). The Ritualist: trusting Jesus initially, then drifting into rituals and traditions as though baptism, communion, or a familiar church routine can secure salvation—subtly adding works to grace. Dr. Youssef brings the focus back to the true Gospel: salvation is God's work from beginning to end because He “so loved the world” (John 3:16). Jesus is the author and perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12:2). Faith itself is God's gift (Ephesians 2:8–9), and God will sustain what He started in you all the way into eternity (Philippians 1:6). If you've been exhausted by striving—or tempted to settle into spiritual autopilot—this devotional will help you rest in Christ's finished work and live from grace, not performance. Prayer: Father, at times I have focused more on doing good things and on the rituals of my faith than focusing on Christ, the only means of my salvation. Forgive me and help me to remember that faith is a gift prompted by Your grace. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). The world puts us on a conveyor belt from the moment we arrive. Recalibration is the decision to step off — not to build a better version, but to unearth who you already truly are. Episode 366. The final Sunday. The commission that doesn't end when the season does. From the moment we arrived, someone was measuring us. Developmental milestones. School timelines. Career progressions. The whole architecture of a human life, pre-mapped and prescribed — a conveyor belt that moves whether we chose to step onto it or not.The conveyor belt was never built for someone with a one-in-four-hundred-quadrillion probability of existence. Psalm 139 knew this. Identity-Level Recalibration was built on it.This episode is the Vertical Alignment close of Week 16 — and the final episode of a 366-episode year. Rooted in Psalm 139 and Philippians 1:6, EP 366 holds the deepest truth of everything the season produced. What we hold in this episode:Why the conveyor belt shapes not just behavior but our sense of what we are forThe one-in-four-hundred-quadrillion reality of your specific, unrepeatable existencePsalm 139 as the theological root of identity-level recalibrationWhy the year's work was excavation, not constructionPhilippians 1:6 as the commission: he who began a good work in you will carry it onThis isn't self-improvement. It never was. The recalibration this year was the long, patient work of shedding what the conveyor belt deposited and returning to the person who was always there — knit together, known completely, held through every drift and every return. The season is completing. The work is not. We know God is in control. We know He is able to heal, but right in the middle of the messy and the painful, many of us tell God what we believe to be our own carnal truth: We don't always understand His love or His mercy in stressful times, and often that's when our faith is severely tested. Your story isn't over. God's not finished with your story just yet. No matter what. For the year of 2024, host Sue Duffield will be teaching and training women HOW to write their own faith story. This will happen at a few retreats that she'll be speaking for this year. And just because we start writing our faith story, doesn't mean life is over - in fact it's quite the opposite! Our faith story is progressing every day and with an open-ended story, we can be hopeful that God will carry you until its completion. “I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 www.sueduffield.com
Hey, is your workplace culture such that many are “puttering around” on priorities that are secondary or even unimportant? Perhaps even your CEO is just “clocking time.” Or is your leadership team functioning as a “potter” for greatness, shaping or re-shaping the organization as a sort of malleable clay for its greatness for the long haul. And, likewise, how about your church? Join Kevin as we talk about the divergent paths of “puttering around” and “pottering for greatness!” // Download this episode's Application & Action questions and PDF transcript at whitestone.org.

Pastor Marc Sharp continues with Part 27 of the current series that is an epic journey through the New Testament Gospel of Mark, verse by verse. The book of Mark was most likely the first one written, and is generally attributed to John Mark, a close associate of Peter, and also of Paul and Barnabas. The Gospel of Mark is all about Jesus and the good news (Gospel) of the kingdom of God. Who was Jesus really, and why exactly did he come? Last week Pastor Marc preached on the feeding of the four thousand and the disciples' unbelief. In today's message, Pastor Marc explains some of the meaning behind Jesus' progressive healing of a blind man and the ensuing discussion of Jesus' identity. With today's message, Pastor Marc Sharp concludes the series from the New Testament book of Jude. The focus has been on Jude’s stern warning about (and descriptions of) false teachers, prophets and believers. The central theme has been Jude’s exhortation to “contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.” We can’t play fast and loose with the gospel. It must be the only genuine gospel, not a cheap counterfeit. Most of us enjoy a good mystery novel; especially one that has a plot twist. Every chapter draws us further into the story and we are sure that we know what is coming, but the author has a surprise for us. We serve an author who loves to give a good plot twist. God can provide an unexpected event that can totally turn our life around. The bible is full of stories that include plot twists: Noah, Daniel, David and Goliath, Joseph, and the entire gospel story all end much differently than expected. But what about when it is our story? What about when we do not know the next step? God knows the ending from the beginning, but we do not. What about when we have failed time and time again? What about trusting the author when it is us not David? What about when we find ourselves in the lion’s den? What do we do then? The answer is our text from Philippians: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Jesus will finish what He started. Our plot twist is just beyond the challenge we might be facing right now. Today might not be our best day, but God is declaring this is not how the story ends. The author of our faith has a flourishing finish in store for us. God is getting ready to open doors that we thought could not be opened. God is not finished writing the story. Are we willing to let God interrupt our story?

The answer is our text from Philippians: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Jesus will finish what He started. Our plot twist is just beyond the challenge we might be facing right now. Today might not be our best day, but God is declaring this is not how the story ends. The author of our faith has a flourishing finish in store for us. God is getting ready to open doors that we thought could not be opened. God is not finished writing the story. Are we willing to let God interrupt our story?
Child of the King Oh my soul, you can stop hiding. He knows where you are; he’ll meet you in all your shame. Oh my soul, you can stop striving. Lift up your eyes; his blood is enough to save. [Chorus] Oh be still, oh my soul, be still. You are perfectly loved; you are perfectly healed. ©2018 Joe Deegan. Words and Music by Joe Deegan. Oh believe, oh my soul, believe. You’re no longer an orphan; you’re a child of the King. Oh my soul, you can stop searching; The love that you seek is here in your Father’s smile. Oh my soul, you can let down your guard. You don’t have to impress; he’s already made you his child. [Chorus] Oh my soul, hold fast to this truth: There’s no power on earth That can make him stop loving you, He’ll never stop loving you. [Chorus] [Tag] You’re a child of the King. You’re a child of the King.

The restoration of the temple had stopped and needed to be started again and finished.
It's the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018. Where are you in your walk with Jesus? If you are like most of us 2017 ends with a fair share of unmet goals and an ongoing struggle with sin in our lives. Take heart! There is great encouragement to be had from God's promises to us.
