So much for Sean Clifford having to fight for an opportunity on the free-agent path after the 2023 NFL Draft. The record-setting Penn State quarterback and four-time captain's fifth-round selection by the Green Bay Packers on Saturday highlighted what was a big weekend for the Nittany Lions at the Draft in Kansas City. But what does his selection say about how his career was viewed by those who watched him at Penn State?Legendary Penn State beat writer (and noted Green Bay Packers fanatic) Rich Scarcella of the Reading Eagle joined host Donnie Collins on the Penn Stated podcast this week to discuss the Clifford selection from both a Packers and Penn State perspective. They also debated which drafted Penn State player is the best fit with the team that drafted him, and which player -- outside of Clifford, of course -- went higher than both thought he would. In a jam-packed episode of the podcast, Donnie also chatted with Mike Rescigno of the Greater Scranton Penn State Chapter to discuss the return of the group's popular annual dinner, which will be held on June 8 at Fiorelli Catering in Peckville. New Penn State men's basketball coach Mike Rhoades and voice of Penn State football and basketball Steve Jones will be the keynote speakers, and local Penn State legend Matt McGloin will serve as toastmaster.Donnie also ran down some breaking news: The release of the 2024-25 College Football Playoff schedule.  For tickets to the 42nd annual Scranton Chapter Dinner, visit www.psuscranton.org, email Mike Rescigno at mike.rescigno@comcast.net, or call Mike at 570-466-7872.To contact Donnie, drop an email at dcollins@timesshamrock.com, or send him a message on Twitter @PennStateTT.Listen and subscribe on Apple podcastsListen and subscribe on Google podcastsListen and subscribe on Spotify

Penn Stated: Talking Penn State Football with Donnie Collins

The NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday night, and with it comes the opportunity every young football player dreams about: A shot to hear their name called by commissioner Roger Goodell, and the realization that they're a professional football player.A slew of players who graduated from Penn State or declared early for the Draft after the 2022 season have completed their offseason training, done the Combine, shown off their improvements at Pro Day and now just have to wait. For the rest of us, it's time to speculate. On the latest episode of the Penn Stated podcast, host Donnie Collins takes a guess at which Nittany Lions will be picked, what round fans can expect to hear their names called, and what teams will be the most interested in acquiring their services. He also answers some of the Draft's burning questions when it comes to Penn State players and former Nittany Lions alike. It seems as if Joey Porter Jr. becoming the first Nittany Lions defensive back ever to be picked in the first round is a foregone conclusion among fans. But, is that a guarantee? Donnie explains why he's not quite as convinced. There's no question someone is going to overdraft Kentucky quarterback and former Nittany Lions backup Will Levis. But, by how many rounds?Ji'Ayir Brown will be a great NFL player, but find out why Donnie isn't sure that means he's sure to be selected before the second round ends.Which Penn State prospect does Donnie think has the best chance at a 10-year NFL career?Would it be better for Sean Clifford if he wasn't drafted? And why are people so certain he won't be?All this, and more, on the special NFL Draft edition of Penn Stated. To contact Donnie, drop an email at dcollins@timesshamrock.com, or send him a message on Twitter @PennStateTT.Listen and subscribe on Apple podcastsListen and subscribe on Google podcastsListen and subscribe on Spotify

His head coaching tenure at his alma mater didn't last long, but Manny Diaz's work as a defensive coordinator has been stellar. His defenses at programs like Texas, Mississippi State and Miami consistently were among the best in the nation at forcing turnovers and creating havoc in the backfield. Now, the former Hurricanes boss is trying to resurrect his career as a head coaching prospect by leading a stacked Penn State defense to greater heights. As the 2022 season preview continues on Penn Stated, host Donnie Collins talks about why Happy Valley could be the perfect landing spot for Diaz, and why the Nittany Lions should be among the nation's top defenses this fall.

Penn State defensive tackle PJ Mustipher injured his knee on Oct. 9 of last season. He was back and ready to participate in training camp in just around nine months. So, how did that process go, and how was training camp for the senior defensive tackle? That's what the BWI Daily Edition discusses today after Mustipher spoke with the media on Tuesday night. Host Thomas Frank Carr breaks down what happened, how impressive Mustipher's return to play timeline is and shows you what Mustipher had to say about his readiness to face Purdue on Sept. 1.  T-Frank starts the show by reviewing where Mustipher was at the start of camp and what milestones he had passed on his way back from injury. But now that he's had a month of football, where is he physically? Finally, we hear from Mustipher about how the camp went and how he thought he performed.  Next, T-Frank explains why that's such an impressive feat. He also explains why he's confident Mustipher tore his ACL against Iowa last October and how hard it is to be ready in nine months for a player like Mustipher. What went into that? Mustipher explains what he learned about himself and adversity.  Finally, the Penn State team leader gives an upate on what he can and can't do against Purdue. He also hints at how the Penn State defensive line will rotate players this season. Penn State football held an open practice on Wednesday night before head coach James Franklin and several members of the team and staff spoke with the media afterward. Today on the BWI Daily Edition, host Thomas Frank Carr and senior editor Nate Bauer discuss what they saw and heard last night before opening the BWI Daily mailbag and answer questions from fans.  Bauer and T-Frank start by offering their impressions of practice and what Franklin said when speaking to media members after practice. Bauer points to the young players and their development so far. He comments on Franklin's assertion that the group collectively "hit a wall" in installation this week. T-Frank picks up on that thread and points to the Nittany Lion's Week one matchup with Purdue and how important it is for the team to be ready early in the season.  Meanwhile, T-Frank focused on the players returning from injury and how they are progressing in the second week of camp. He observed defensive linemen PJ Mustipher and Adisa Isaac going through drills and gives his feedback. Next, they discuss Bauer's conversation with Ji'Ayir Brown and how the senior safety discussed his fellow teammates in the secondary. Does he see each of them progressing in the necessary areas? And does Bauer believe that to be the case if he does?  After wrapping up with some final thoughts, the pair moves on to the mailbag portion of the show. The first question deals with Penn State's other freshman running back. How much are fans or media overlooking four-star freshman Kaytron Allen? Bauer rejects the notion that Blue White Illustrated has overlooked Allen but details what he's heard that indicates the question is correct in spirit.  They also take on the interior of the offensive line and the position battle between Hunter Nourzad and Sal Wormley. Who is the starter? Which players are trying to get snaps where? T-Frank pushes the conversation past Wormely and Nourzad to include center Juice Scruggs and left guard Landon Tengwall.  Bauer and T-Frank also discuss the intricacies of the new Big Ten media right deal from both a football and basketball perspective. Does college basketball in the Big Ten take a hit with the move away from ESPN? T-Frank wonders aloud how television stations that don't have four of five dedicated channels like ESPN will broadcast games. He speculates that streaming could be a future but Bauer points to the reality of the situation.  Next, they tackle the new deal from a football angle. What happens to the White Out now that Fox has the rights to marquee games? Fox's plan of playing big games at noon ruins the atmosphere of one of the iconic scenes in sports. Bauer has a strong opinion on the type of question asked, while T-Frank enjoys a moment speculating.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Penn State football is currently in the first week of training camp and will cap it off with media day on Saturday. To prepare you for what you will learn and what ot expect, reporter Greg Pickel joins host Thomas Frank Carr on the BWI DailY Edition to preview the event. The duo will go through the top five questions that Pickel wants to have answers for from head coach James Franklin, along with other news and notes we might learn on Saturday.  They start with the top five questions that Pickel would ask James Franklin if he could have a one-on-one interview instead of a press conference. Pickel begins his line of questions with the safety battle beside returning starter Tig Brown. Several names are vying for the opportunity to play the field safety position in Penn State's defense but will it be Keaton Ellis, Zakee Wheatley, or Jaylen Reed? Next, T-Frank throws a fourth mystery name into the competition and asks for Pickel's thoughts.  The next question on Pickel's mind centers around incoming transfer Chop Robinson at defensive end. Pickel's question sparks a conversation that T-Frank wants to have about the defensive end group. So he asks Pickel about not just Robinson but where he thinks that position will land during the 2022 season. Question three (in ascending order) that Pickel would ask Franklin deals with Penn State's top camp battle. How is the competition shaping up between Tyler Elsdon and Kobe King? The center of the defense won't be stabilized until one of those players takes command of the position, so finding out which player is ahead after the first week is essential.  The second question on Pickel's mind deals with the health of PJ Mustipher. The senior defensive tackle was present and participating during the opening portion of Penn State's practice on Monday, which is a good sign. But how much and what type of participation does Mustipher have during team periods? The senior defensive tackle's health will go a long way to determining the defensive line's success.  Finally, the top question that Pickel would ask Franklin deals with the opposing units in football. Is the offense ahead of the defense or vice versa? While this is a common question for the media to ask during camp, Pickel has a specific reason he wants to know this time of year.  They also discuss the offensive line situation and the training camp timeline. Finally, Pickel gives T-Frank an update on Penn State wrestling.  JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: https://bluewhiteonline.com Download our podcasts: https://cms.megaphone.fm/channel/LRL3155877513?selected=DSVV2664982394 Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3 Sound effects obtained from https://www.zapsplat.com Learn more about your ad choices. Penn State football is counting on several familiar faces returning from injury to power its defensive line for the 2022 season. But, with the addition of some exciting new faces, will this group hit the heights of their potential? Or will there be too many 'ifs' for this group to succeed? The BWI Daily edition tackles the Penn State defensive line in today's season preview.  Host Thomas Frank Carr and senior editor Nate Baur start at the top with Penn State's need to replace second-round pick Arnold Ebiketie's production from last season. Additionally, senior defensive tackle PJ Mustipher is returning from injury. His timeline back to full strength is a key part of the equation. They discuss how likely it is that Mustipher and defensive end Adisa Isaac will play well this fall. Next, T-Frank introduces viewers to the starting defensive line, with even more questions outside of Isaac and Mustipher. Nick Tarburton returns to his role from last season, while Hakeem Beamon returns from a non-injury absence in 2021.  Next, T-Frank introduces the rest of the depth players and the new faces to the defensive line this fall. He asks Bauer how long it will take for Penn State's starting defensive line to change from what it is now. Through that conversation, Bauer and T-Frank bring attention to Penn State's depth players, such as Coziah Izzard and Dvon Ellies. Those to players struggled to fill in for Mustipher last season. Finally, the duo considers if things can lead to a more positive outcome this fall.  Finally, they dive into the new players for Penn State. Five-star defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton, transfer Chop Robinson, and freshman defensive tackle Zane Durant have impressed this offseason in one form or fashion. T-Frank and Bauer discuss the possibility of all of them playing meaningful roles in the fall.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Host Thomas Frank Carr and senior Editor Nate Bauer team up to discuss the thoughts and opinions of Blue White Illustrated subscribers and Penn State fans. Today they'll tackle Big Ten Media Day, the return of PJ Mustipher, and more.  T-Frank and Bauer start with a discussion about the Penn State defensive line. A BWI Message board member wants to know the projected two-deep at the defensive line for the fall. Does the news that Mustipher is cleared for camp change their opinion? The duo discusses the pros and cons of returning from an ACL injury, how players perform when they do and what fans should expect from the senior defensive tackle early in the year.  Next, they take a question regarding the 2022 Big Ten Media Days and Penn State's performance. Was Penn State successful in weathering the storm of controversy brought earlier in the week? Did head coach James Franklin and his players achieve their goals? T-Frank found himself disappointed in the responses, but Bauer has some different context to bring to the show.  They answer questions regarding the defensive end position, and the competition at guard between Sal Wormley and Hunter Nourzad, among others. Finally, the show ends by picking the freshmen in the Class of 2022 that will become fan favorites. Bauer chooses five-star players, Nick Singleton and Drew Allar, while T-Frank picks five-star defensive end Dani Dennis Sutton and receiver Kaden Saunders.  Learn more about your ad choices. Of the topics he discussed, Bauer brings up his conversation about the Penn State defense and how much of a task it would be to learn the new system under first-year defensive coordinator Manny Diaz. So how has that gone this spring? Next, Bauer explains what Franklin had to say. T-Fank comments on how that conversation has changed this offseason from Franklin's first comment to now. Finally, they discuss how learning a new defense has held back discussions about leadership on the defensive side of the ball. Next, They move on to Franklin's comments about the offensive line. The head coach was more open about the injuries that his front five suffered this spring and who has been able to play. First, Bauer and T-Frank discuss the names he mentioned to set the stage. Next, they discuss how that has impacted the group before T-Frank says how the Nittany Lions dodged a bullet with the players that did stay healthy. Finally, Bauer discusses what Franklin said about the running back room. Specifically, Bauer mentions how Franklin described the effect of freshmen Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen on the group. From there, they dive into the BWI Mailbag to answer your questions. They start with Tim, who wants to know how good Penn State could be next season if they had four or five All-Big Ten Freshmen on the team. Next, t-Frank and Bauer spend quite a bit of time discussing which positions would make the most impact, which players are possibly a factor, and which jobs are not up for new blood. Finally, T-Frank tries to ascertain how much difference those players could make to the overall record. They also discuss how the defensive tackle position can help edge rushers do their job, PJ Mustipher's return from injury, and more. #PennState #NittanyLions JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: http://bluewhiteonline.com Download our podcasts: https://cms.megaphone.fm/channel/LRL3155877513?selected=DSVV2664982394 Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3 Sound effects obtained from https://www.zapsplat.com Learn more about your ad choices. Penn State football has a long and successful track record of recruiting players, especially defenders, from McDonough high school in Maryland. The next in that line is three-star defensive end, Mason Robinson. The junior defender is heading into his senior season, holding an offer from Penn State, and is fresh off a visit to the school. He sits down with the host of the BWI Daily Edition, Thomas Frank Carr, to discuss his time in Happy Valley. They'll also discuss his trip to South Carolina, his game, and T-Frank finishes the interview by getting to know Robinson better. They start with Robinson's trip last weekend to Penn State's campus to watch practice and meet with the staff. First, Robinson takes a moment to thank the people that hosted him over the weekend. Next, he explains that he wanted to get to know defensive line coach John Scott Jr. more on his fourth trip to the school. The 6-3 defensive end came away impressed with Scott and the program overall. He also gives T-Frank insight into Penn State head coach James Franklin as a coach. Next, Robinson lets T-Frank know who he met on the trip from a player level. There's a long list of McDonough players on the roster, and Robinson met them all. That includes fifth-year defensive tackle PJ Mustipher, whom he met for the first time. He gives some insight into the conversation they had as well. Next, they pull back from Penn State and discuss what Robinson looks for from a school. Finally, he explains what environment he and his parents want for his next football destination. With that in mind, T-Frank asks about Robinson's trip to South Carolina on April 4th. Robinson gives his impressions of the school, the football program, and what he thought of the weather. After that, they shift to discussing Robinson's game on the field. After discussing some of the Maryland native's favorite pass-rushing moves in their last conversation, they look instead at his approach to the game mentally. First, t-Franks asks Robinson to describe himself as a football player and then discusses what he's seen of the McDonough edge rusher on film. From there, they discuss film study, his father's influence on him, and what he has in store for himself from a physical growth perspective. Finally, they wrap up with some "get to know you" questions. On Thursday, Penn State football held their annual max testing day open to the media. Host Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel were at Holuba Hall to take in the sights and sounds. Pickel starts by giving you his general impressions of the day and the environment in the makeshift weight room. Penn State is undergoing major renovations to its weight-lifting facility, so the team set up a makeshift quarter in Holuba Hall. What did Pickel think of the situation, and how the team responded? Next, he gives you who he thought was notable during the lifting session. T-Frank then brings up two freshmen in running back Nick Singleton and defensive tackle Zane Durant. New strength coach Chuck Losey singled out two players as having exceptional winter conditioning workouts among the first-year players. Then, he asks Greg to fill listeners in on what Losey had to say about the young quarterbacks who enrolled in January. T-Frank follows up with his impressions of the young gunslingers during his evaluation process. He thinks what Losey said should give fans even more hope about the future of five-star quarterback Drew Allar. Next, Pickel fills T-Frank in on what he saw from Penn State's injured or absent players in 2021. Hakeem Beamon, Adisa Isaac, and PJ Mustipher were all at the liftings session, and Pickel gave his thoughts about what they looked like in that setting. While the details about Mustipher's injury aren't precise, T-Frank thinks he has a good idea of the timeline for his return based on what he saw on Thursday. They shift to the young defensive linemen that lifted on Thursday because T-Frank spent a good bit of time watching them lift. Fatorma Mulbah and Jordan van den Berg both drew praise from Losey, and T-Frank now thinks they can be contributors this spring at the tackle position. Along with his observations of Amin Vanover's build, that gives some insight into the depth and talent this spring. However, Pickel disagrees and gives his reason why. After that, they shift to Penn State's young offensive line and discuss Olu Fashanu and Landon Tengwall. How did they look? T-Frank and Pickel discuss what they saw from each. Finally, they wrap up the show with a preview of the Big Ten Wrestling Tournament, which is coming up this weekend. Penn State may be the favorite to win the tournament, but Pickel thinks it won't be a walk in the park. He details the areas that Penn State needs to get support, the key wrestlers, and highlights matchups that everyone should hope they get to see in the finals. #PennState #NittanyLions JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: http://bluewhiteonline.com Download our podcasts: https://cms.megaphone.fm/channel/LRL3155877513?selected=DSVV2664982394 Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3 Sound effects obtained from https://www.zapsplat.com Learn more about your ad choices. It's been a week of announcements for Penn State Football: More came yesterday in defensive tackle PJ Mustipher, returning for a fifth year in 2022. Penn State quickly replaced special teams coordinator Joe Lorig in Boise State's Stacy Collins. Punter Jordan Stout announced he was leaving the program for the NFL. So how does Penn State replace the player that served as their kickoff specialist, punter, and field goal kicker? Senior editor Nate Bauer once again joins the BWI Daily edition to talk about those three moves, along with long snapper Chris Stoll announcing that he was also coming back to Penn State for one final season. They start with Mustipher, the four-year contributor for the Nittany Lions returning for an extra fifth year of eligibility. Unfortunately, not much is known about the nature of Mustihper's injury, which he suffered in the first quarter against Iowa. Since his injury happened in October, can he be ready to participate fully for Penn State next season? T-Frank and Bauer go through that, along with what Mustipher gets from coming back to Penn State, outside of just one more year of games. They also speculate about the nature of his injury and how that sets a possible timeline for his return. T-Frank cautions fans from expecting the same player they saw in 2021 and explains why. Bauer also brings up the intangible benefits of bringing back a leader like Mustpher and how he can help, even if he's less than fully healthy. After the lengthy discussion about Mustipher, the duo examined Collins' resume and why Penn State hired him away from Boise State, where he served as the speical team's coordinator. Next, T-Frank and Bauer look at his resume and examine all the different stops and job titles he's collected along the way. T-Frank also explains how two of his job titles with Penn State say the same thing. Finally, the duo discusses punter Jordan Stout's announcement that he's headed to the NFL. The Penn State do-it-all special teamer leaves a void on kickoffs, punting, and field goals. Bauer takes you through the names and backgrounds of all potential candidates to replace him. Last but not least, they discuss the importance of long snapper Chris Stoll coming back for his sixth year of eligibility. It's senior day on Saturday at Beaver Stadium for the Penn State football team. Typically this has been a time to celebrate outgoing classes and reflect on their accomplishments as they head on to the next chapter of their lives. But, is that the case anymore?  On the BWI Daily Edition, host Thomas Frank Carr looks at the senior class and precisely two members in it as to whether or not they should return for their extra year of eligibility. First, senior tackle PJ Mustipher exited in early October with a season-ending injury. Should he come back for one more season to put tape on film for NFL scouts? T-Frank weighs the pros and cons of Mustipher's upcoming decision. T-Frank spends the bulk of the first segment considering the future of signal-caller Sean Clifford. The fifth-year senior could come back for a future season, but does that do him any good for his NFL future? On the flip side, does Penn State want him back? Finally, would it be good for the team and fans to have Clifford under center in 2022? T-Frank looks at some key factors that would determine Clifford's success based on his performance this season and some stark contrasts in critical metrics. He also plays some comments from James Franklin about players that will directly impact that situation in the future.  Next, T-Frank checks in with basketball reporter Dave Eckert about the Penn State Hoops team and their upset loss on the road to UMass Monday night. He gets the scoop on what happened, why Penn State struggled, and what it means for the team going forward.  They also discuss the program as a whole under first-year coach Micah Shrewsberry and what casual fans need to know as the season ramps up at the Bryce Jordan Center.    JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: http://bluewhiteonline.com Download our podcasts: https://bluewhiteillustrated.podbean.com/ Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3

So how should Penn State fans feel about the second half of the season? BWI senior editor Nate Bauer joins host Thomas Frank Carr on the BWI Daily Edition to discuss just that. They also get into what rumors they are hearing about the status of Clifford and what that might mean for the season ahead. From there, they extrapolate what an offense, and team, identity will need to be for the Penn State football team to be successful if Clifford misses any amount of time in 2021. They also discuss the parts and pieces around backup quarterback Ta'Quan Roberson that will need to improve for the team to continue to find success. All of that is wrapped up in the single game that Penn State played against Iowa and how the Nittany Lions' offensive and defensive performances on Saturday will have to change moving forward. The Blue White Illustrated Staff returns for their Monday Live Show Recapping Penn State's 23-20 loss to Iowa at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday.    Dave Eckert and Greg Pickel join host Thomas Frank Carr as they discuss the details and the fallout of Penn State's loss of not only the game, but potentially starting quarterback Sean Clifford. They spend the first half of the show breaking down Ta'Quan Roberson's performance replacing Clifford, and how the team got to the point that their backup quarterback was unable to perform against the Hawkeyes' defense.  They also discuss how Penn State was playing before the injury and how things might have played out if Clifford had stayed healthy throughout the contest. Then the question is asked: What's next? How does Penn State use the bye week to prepare in the event that Clifford can't play, and how might the offense change moving forward.  They focus on the offensive line and their ability to block players, as well as the schemes and other blockers that have led to an anemic rushing attack from the Nittany Lions. They look at the receivers and their contributions to the offense to see if they will be able to burden any more of the load going forward.  Running backs have yet to make a true impact for the team and T-Frank, Dave and Greg talk about the group of players there. T-Frank gives his thoughts as to why Noah Cain is still valuable despite being clearly less than 100% and why Keyvone Lee struggles to be consistent as a runner. Dave and Greg also chime in on the rotation and whether or not it's time to pick just one player.  They then shift to the defensive side of the ball and highlight Tariq Castro-Fields' play this season and whether or not fans are correct in being unhappy with his play. T-Frank also asks how you should feel about the defense's performance on a day that they ultimately gave up a late game-winning touchdown, but kept the Nittany Lions ahead for most of the game without an offense to support them.  They look at the defensive line and how they performed without PJ Mustipher, discuss the pass rush and then look at the linebacker's performance against the Hawkeye rushing attack before closing the show with final thoughts.
