Pastor Greg Melvin emphasized spiritual growth, urging listeners not to become satisfied where they are with God but to keep moving forward in faith, prayer, service, and purpose. Using examples from Isaac, Paul, and Moses, it taught that growth comes from persistence, refusing to quit, and staying focused on God's plan rather than looking back or standing still. The sermon also encouraged the church to believe that families, finances, relationships, and ministries are all going somewhere when they continue advancing with God.

In this deeply personal episode, Stephen shares a major life update: after four years on staff at Northview Church, he's stepping into a new season — working alongside Valley Christian Counseling and Wellness to oversee marketing, social media, and church partnerships, while also pursuing writing, speaking, and resource development.Stephen and Megan unpack the process of discernment, how long-term dreams from years ago (including conversations from 2021) began to align with God's timing, and what it looks like to hold dreams in tension with present faithfulness. From Abraham's "Going Somewhere" journey to the challenge of “leaving tomorrow while staying forever,” this conversation explores calling, obedience, and the sacredness of transition. They also talk through the completion of Stephen's upcoming book, navigating emotions in transition, and listening to God's voice in everyday life.Get Updates on Stephen's book process!Follow Stephen Glasser on Instagram Follow Going Somewhere Podcast on InstagramAsk a Question or Suggest a Guest | goingsomewherepod.comSubscribe to us on YoutubePodcast Music: Electric Ten by Broke in SummerGoing Somewhere is a resource of Northview ChurchStephen's Instagram & Website

Andrew Marino, PhD, JD is a retired biophysicist and lawyer specialising in the biological effects of electromagnetic energy. Working closely with Dr. Robert Becker for much of his career, Marino has played a pivotal role in understating the impacts of non-native electromagnetic fields via stress response pathways in animals and humans. His work has raised fundamental questions about the safety of wireless communications technologies, powerlines and the ever-growing number of gadgets we are surrounded by.He is the author of several books including, ‘Going Somewhere', which documents the harsh realities of a life in science. His story is poignant and highlights how science can be manipulated and watered down at the whims of those in power with little regard for human safety. His forthcoming book (Winter 2025), ‘Philip Handler: Toxic Pope of Science' details the long-lasting effects some critical figures have had in shaping what we perceive today as science. Please consider subscribing to my Substack where I share my detailed thoughts and insights on my podcast topics and beyond. Dan Mangan is fond of summing up his whole approach to a creative life in music with a simple axion: "It's cool to care." Dan models that approach in everything he does. Whether he's starting his own label, Madic Records, or co-founding community concert platform, Side Door Access; acting as a longtime vocal advocate for the de-stigmatization of discussions around mental health; or through his countless epic live performances over the years and seven albums to date... it's very clear that Dan cares, and he doesn't mind who knows it. Ever since he first burst out of the Vancouver scene with his debut album, nearly two decades back, Dan's been deeply interested in trying to involve people in not just his music, but what music can do; drawing people into that shared experience. Sometimes he's bringing his dynamic range all the way down to whisper-quiet, making audiences lean in closer. Sometimes - as on the giant Going Somewhere tour which brought him to Alberta in Fall 2023 - it's sending out a phone number to fans and asking them to text him their song requests before the shows. The point is, he cares about those moments of real human connection, and he hopes that you think it's cool to care, too. Dan's latest Juno-nominated and Polaris Prize-shortlisted album Being Somewhere is a distillation of his whole ethos. And this autumn, he brought some of that music to CKUA. Amidst the stacks of vinyl and shellac in CKUA's legendary music library, Dan shared an insightful and occasionally hilarious conversation, and performed beautiful, intimate, solo acoustic versions of two songs: Being Somewhere standout "Fire Escape" and as his latest, a single called "Say When." The Hidden Track Podcast is produced by CKUA Radio and made possible by the generous contributions of our donors. Thank you for your support! In our last conversation, (Episode 26) we shared Alice Lovelace's tumultuous history as a solo teaching artist and performer working with young writers all across the rural south. What follows is Alice's next chapter. In it she talks about building an extraordinary multi-disciplinary, cross-sector cultural institution that rises up from the funky detritus of the pandemic as a new beachhead of creative change in a small Georgia Community. BIOAlice Lovelace is a cultural worker, performance artist, teacher, poet, organizer, author, playwright, and arts administer. Since 1976 Atlanta has been her home of choice; a fertile ground for artistic growth and activism, and in 1978, she discovered the Neighborhood Arts Center and met Ebon Dooley (Leo Hale) and Toni Cade Bambara. Together, they organized poetry readings and classes while conducting meetings for the Southern Collective of African American Writers (SCAAW). In 1981, Ebon and Alice founded the nonprofit: Southeast Community Cultural Center located at the former Grant Park Elementary School and in 1984 opened the former school as The Arts Exchange – a studio space for artists, a theater, recording studio, two galleries, a dance studio, and home to the Atlanta Writers Resource Center. Between 1998 and 2000 Alice became executive director of Alternate ROOTS, an artists-led southern regional organization; and along with Dr. Lisa Delpit and actress Jane Fonda, she founded and stepped into the role of executive director of the Atlanta Partnership for Arts in Learning (APAL). Currently serving as the president of the board of ArtsXchange, Alice continues to serve the public need through programs implemented at the nonprofit's newly renovate facility in East Point, GA.
