It's kind of like choosing your favorite ice cream flavor, but this feels more like a real family episode, because I get to bring in some friends from the Found Collective. Found Collective is a new event for women to lean more fully into Jesus with Bible teachers and worship leaders. I've got three of my dear friends from the Found Collective, Hosanna Wong, amazing Bible teacher, spoken word artist, Kari Jobe, who's like a little sister, and one of my favorite modern-day psalmists, and Taya Gaukrodger. Taya is also just an amazing artist and worship leader, and we are just kind of hanging out on the porch talking about Jesus, talking about salvation and all that He's done for us. So, this is a little more testimonial than some of our other episodes, which means I hope you are wearing stretchy pants or something comfortable. I hope you've got some sweet tea or your favorite coffee. We want you to lean back, put your feet up, and just enjoy this time of leaning into the embrace of Jesus more fully on the porch. A common struggle among people from all walks of life is believing untruths about ourselves, due to things spoken into us and over our lives that influence and shape us into who we are. Author, speaker, and spoken word artist Hosanna Wong experienced this firsthand, and found herself feeling like she couldn't measure up. But what she discovered by learning stories of other people on the streets of San Francisco was that so many of us feel unworthy, unloved, and unseen. Hosanna turned to Jesus' life as the example for how we can know ourselves, and be set free from the lies we're told.   Quotes “Growing up, I believed the lie that I was not enough. I remember thinking that I had to change who I was in order to be accepted, in order to be loved. As I got older, that lie continued with me into my adult life. A few years ago, I started being healed from this lie and set free from this lie, resisting a culture that wants me to be defined by what I do.” - Hosanna Wong “What you think about yourself determines how you live. If you think you're not enough, you might start living like you are. You might try to change yourself, or work harder, or produce more, or do more, or hustle harder in order to be loved. If you believe you are a burden—a burden to be loved—you might start living like you are.” - Hosanna Wong “You are more than you've been told. My hope is that people discover who they really are, that they stop looking at their lives through the broken lens of other people, and start to see themselves through the lens of God. When you know who you are, it changes how you live.” - Hosanna Wong “God knew we would believe lies that we have to do more, or produce more, or perform more to be more valuable, so God commanded rest, and then Jesus exemplified a life of rest. It shows us that we can do everything God has called us to do and also rest in knowing we are loved without doing one thing.” - Hosanna Wong   Guest's Links Hosanna Wong's website Hosanna Wong's Facebook Hosanna Wong's Instagram Hosanna Wong's Twitter   Resources Mentioned in This Episode “You Are More Than You've Been Told” by Hosanna Wong Connect with Sally Lloyd-Jones Jesus Storybook Bible Facebook Jesus Storybook Bible Instagram  Sally's website Sally's Facebook Sally's Instagram *Episode produced by Four Eyes Media*

Do you consider yourself a master of anxiety? You find yourself feeling anxious easily, always concerned about the next thing or something seemingly out of your control? Maybe you wouldn't say you're a master of anxiety . . . maybe you're just a duke of anxiety, or an apprentice. I don't think there's any denying that we all feel anxious at times. And for many people . . . the global statistics suggest an ever-increasing number of people . . . anxiety is a part of daily life. In this episode of Doable Discipleship, host Jason Wieland is joined by Alan Fadling, President and Founder of Unhurried Living and author of the new book, “A Non-Anxious Life: Experiencing the Peace of God's Presence.”Today's episode focuses on what the Bible says about anxiety, common issues that bring anxiety into our lives, and practices that we can do to move from being masters of anxiety to masters of peace. If you are struggling with anxiety right now, this episode is for you. If you have ever struggled with anxiety, this episode is for you. In today's episode my friend Hosanna Wong and I discuss what it means to abide in Christ and live the life He has called you to live. Hosanna Wong is an international speaker, best-selling author, and spoken word artist helping everyday people know Jesus for real. Hosanna preaches in churches, conferences, prisons, & other events around the world. She serves together with her husband Guy in various ministries equipping people with tools to share the gospel of Jesus in today's world.  Hosanna is passionate about spreading the gospel and helping people know and love as who they really are. Her newest book You Are More Than You've Been Told is available now! You may have heard the term, "to abide in Christ". In today's episode Hosannah challenges us to look at what that practically means for our day to day life. You'll hear how we can fight for our schedules to create structures that look like the rhythms of Jesus' life. Four rhythms she dives into today are:Rhythm of scripture Rhythm of prayerRhythm of rest Rhythm of real communityIf I'm being honest, there are two rhythms on this list that I really struggle with. But Hosanna said some things today that have really stuck with me and even though they're not my strengths, I'm committed to leaning into them and asking God to help me! Which of these rhythms are your strengths and which are some you can grow in to help you abide in Christ each day? SHOW LINKS:You Are More Than You've Been ToldI Have A New Name spoke wordThe Spirit of Disciplines by Dallas WillardOn Living Well by Eugene PetersonChinatown PrettyHH Book ClubConnect with Jamie

That ADHD Chick: Embracing Your Best Self

"Have you ever been a prisoner of perfection?  Or a prisoner of any other label you or someone else has given yourself?  You're not alone!" In this episode, Aileen introduces her "contract," an affirmation given to her by her personal development coach, which emphasizes her worth and authentic expression. Despite having received this affirmation seven months ago, she acknowledges the ongoing effort required to align her actions with it, particularly in terms of her health goals.Reflecting on her past, Aileen talks about the negative impact of labels, specifically those related to her ADHD. Aileen elaborates on the power of beliefs and shares an impactful message from a faith-based podcast by Hosanna Wong. The concept of "I am enough" resonates with her as it underscores the idea that self-beliefs determine one's life trajectory. Linking her recent podcast tagline change to these insights, Aileen discusses the synchronicity of her personal revelations. She acknowledges how past labels prompted a façade in the form of overachievement and masking, especially among those with ADHD. Aileen emphasizes the role of self-doubt that delayed her in pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors despite her husband's consistent belief in her capabilities and unwavering support. The episode concludes with Aileen's advice for breaking free from the perfectionism trap.  And as promised, some of the info mention in the podcast:The podcast she mentions she listened to before recording this episode: Susie Larson Live: https://www.susielarson.com/susielarsonliveThe guest speaker of that show quoted is, Hosanna Wong.  Her Instagram channel is @hosannawong**********How to leave a review or star rating:To leave a star rating on SPOTIFY, navigate to the main show page. Saddleback Church Content Development Pastor Jason Wieland is joined by author, teacher, and spoken word artist Hosanna Wong for a conversation around identity in Christ and how to adopt the rhythms of Jesus. One of the most fundamental questions of life is Who Am I? and, in Christian circles, we are often rushed to answer that our identity is in Christ. But how do we really find out what this means and, even when we do feel connected to Jesus, how do we keep that connection? This conversation addresses these questions and dives deep into looking at four rhythms or spiritual disciplines that you can begin adopting in your own life. Hosanna Wong is an international speaker, best-selling author and spoken word artist helping everyday people know Jesus for real.
