This week Reid and Dan chat with multi-hit songwriter and artist, Ray Fulcher. The guys reminisce on hunting with their dads as young kids and how those memories are ones that will last a lifetime. Ray dives in on what it's like being a landowner for the first time and tells the story of what he did to make sure he got rid of his trespassers for good. They dive in on Ray's journey to Nashville and how it went from sellin' cars to writing multi-platinum songs and playing stadiums. As always, the episode ends with his Gravorite and a special Luke Combs sing-along. Ray Fulcher had no plans on ever becoming a songwriter or a singer. Teaching and coaching. THOSE were his plan. But they got set aside one fateful night Ray went to a club in his college town and saw a young country artist named Eric Church. Seeing and hearing Eric lyrics lit something inside Ray, and that flame was helped along by a second incident of fate the day he met a fellow couch surfer in a friend's Nashville house named Luke Combs. It's one of the more improbable songwriter success stories we've had on this podcast which makes it all the more relatable. Who hasn't had the notion to put everything aside and bet on yourself? Ray's bet paid off. And it still isSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Morgan chats from his tour bus Last month, Craig Morgan -- Army veteran, country music hit-maker and star of the CBS series Beyond The Edge -- released his much-anticipated personal memoir, God, Family, Country, in partnership with Blackstone Publishing. The book, which Morgan wrote with Jim DeFelice, details the country star's road to success, from his humble childhood in Tennessee to his years as an elite military operative to his country music stardom with 25 Billboard charting hits. He recently wrapped a six city in-person national book tour where he chatted with fans and personally signing copies of the book. I met with him in Los Angeles where he discussed his life with the small audience. He will release the deluxe edition of his latest album, God, Family, Country (Deluxe Edition), on November 11th. The project, aptly releasing on Veterans Day and coinciding with his headlining show at Nashville's iconic Ryman Auditorium, features 14 tracks including “How You Make A Man,” Morgan's newest single impacting country radio now. Morgan will launch his headlining Operation Finally Home Welcomes God, Family, Country Tour 2022 with Craig Morgan this fall, playing 11 theater and auditorium dates in October and November. Kicking off October 19th in Green Bay, WI, he'll be joined by country hitmaker Ray Fulcher to open the shows. In this episode of The Music Universe Podcast, Morgan chats with us about the memoir, album and how faith keeps him grounded. He was between cities on his tour bus during the Zoom interview, so please forgive any drops in audio and video. Full audio and video are streaming below. I had the pleasure of sitting down with country artist Ray Fulcher. He's got such a cool story to tell. Ray may be a new artist for a lot of people but he's been working in Nashville for almost a decade now. Even if you're not familiar with his name, you are certainly aware of some of his songs. Ray is a writer on 17 of Luke Combs' songs, 4 of which went to number 1 on the country charts. Songs like 'Lovin' on You,' 'When It Rains It Pours' and 'Does To Me'. Unlike a lot of other artists Ray didn't pick up music until he was in college. It was an Eric Church concert that inspired him to pick up the guitar and find his true passion. We talk about that and how he was able to meet Eric recently and have a good conversation about that. I'm a big fan of Ray's. I hope learning more about him will inspire you to check hi out. I am positive you'll like what you hear.
I've got Cody Webb with me for this weeks Music Manifested Podcast. Cody is a native of South Carolina who moved to Nashville shortly after graduating from Clemson University.
