A $10 million reward is being offered for his capture. The evidence includes a series of texts sent between the two surviving roommates who were inside the house at the time of the murders. New Mexico officials are expected to share new details on Friday into the investigation of the deaths of actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa. The couple's bodies were discovered in their Santa Fe home last month. At least 164 measles cases have been reported across nine states this year, with two unvaccinated patients — a child in Texas and an adult in New Mexico — dying from the virus. Health experts warn that measles can weaken the immune system, increasing the risk of future infections in a condition known as "immune amnesia." CBS News medical contributor Dr. Céline Gounder explains the long-term impact. New data shows layoffs increased last month to the highest level since the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, Friday's unemployment report revealed employers added 151,000 jobs in February, which is below economists' forecasts. MoneyWatch correspondent Kelly O'Grady reports. Ringo Starr made his Grand Ole Opry debut in Nashville last month, performing the country classic "Act Naturally," a song he and The Beatles first covered in the '60s. While best known for rock, Starr has always had a love for country music. In a new concert special airing Monday on CBS, he celebrates the genre at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Anthony Mason sits down with him to discuss the performance. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo's powerful duet "Defying Gravity" highlights the stunning visuals of the"Wicked" film, where costume designer Paul Tazewell reimagined Oz through more than 1,000 intricate designs. With a Tony for "Hamilton" and an Emmy for "The Wiz Live!," Tazewell is now closer to EGOT status after making history at the Academy Awards. When he was 7 years old, a friend's father was in the entertainment business. Hanging out at rehearsals and on the tour buses sold Matt on the idea of being a musician, or at the very least, a drummer. All this lead to spending his high school years at Fort Hayes vocational school for music and Capital University Conservatory of Music for college studying under drum instructor Bob Breithaupt. The musical diversity in Columbus gave Matt the chance to play with many great players and learning many different styles – from Big Band (Vaughn Weister's Famous Jazz Orchestra) and Brazilian to Afro-Cuban and Fusion. All the while, he was doing his share of gigs with original rock bands and top 40 bands. Matt moved to Nashville in the summer of 1999. Working as a freelance drummer based in Nashville has taken him to all 50 states in the U.S. and most of Canada, as well as overseas to Europe, Asia, The Middle East and The Caribbean. As well as the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Matt has performed in great local venues like the Ryman Auditorium, Mercy Lounge, 3rd and Lindsley, The 5 Spot, The Sutler, The Basement, The Wildhorse Saloon, and many clubs on lower Broadway. Matt has toured both regionally and nationally, with the Adam and Shannon Wright, Mark Selby, Eddy Raven, Billy Dean, Stephen Simmons, Three Lane, Whiskey Cash & Roses, Michelle Wright - (throughout Canada), Julie Roberts, and The Frontmen of Country which is Larry Stewart of Restless Heart, Richie McDonald of Lonestar, Tim Rushlow of Little Texas. From 2009 to 2017 Matt was the full time drummer for the band Savannah Jack. He played percussion on their first studio record in 2010 opposite Steve Ferrone on drums. For their second studio record in 2015, Matt was the drumset and percussion player in the studio. In the studio, Matt has had the pleasure of working with talented producers including Eric Fritsch, Teddy Morgan, Jim Reilley and Brent Maher. Artist he's recorded with in the studio have included Sheryl Crow, legendary songwriter Buzz Cason and actor Kevin Costner. In 2015, Matt started a podcast for drummers called "Working Drummer", an interview based podcast that maintains a focus on the drummer that makes a living at his or her craft. Bluegrass legends came and went, rehearsing and recording, and giving Sam something to aspire to when he picked up the bass as a little kid. After a decade working and touring as sideman, he's now based in Nashville leading his own collective, the Sam Grisman Project, which is nurturing the repertoire of the Grisman/Garcia partnership, with selected tunes from the Grateful Dead repertoire as well. With a remarkable concert at the Ryman Auditorium in January 2025, Sam stepped into a new phase of his musical life.

The first time you hear Leah Blevins sing, you immediately notice a voice similar to Dolly Parton. As if that weren't enough to want to hear more, she belts out influences from Martina McBride, Loretta Lynn and even Stevie Nicks. And she's poised for a new album later in 2025 that could be the project that vaults her even higher in the country music scene. Blevins joined Frank and Falls on Roots Music Rambler to talk about what's coming in 2025. She heads to the studio in February to add to an already released single (Hundred Different Sides). The new project is the first of a two record deal, so the future is bright. Blevins was raised in Sandy Hook, Ky., a tiny little burg in the hills of Northeast Kentucky. It happens to be the home of another great country singer: Keith Whitley. We explored her musical journey, talked about her debut album (First Time Feeling) which came out in 2021, her influences, family and more. Plus, Falls reports back on Brent Cobb's first Ryman Auditorium headline show and both he and Frank talk about 2025 live show plans they've already got in the works. And as always, they share their Pickin' the Grinnin picks for new music for you to explore this week. Hank Williams defined the genre we now call country with a guitar in one hand and a bottle of booze in the other. In between stints in the local drunk tank, he cultivated a knack for blue-collar blues that would spread far beyond the backwoods South Hank called home. His self-proclaimed “hillbilly music” logged him more than 30 hit songs and membership at the Grand Ole Opry, fulfilling Hank's lifelong dream. But his frequent bouts with the bottle would ultimately strip him of that membership, sending him from the Ryman Auditorium to the sanatorium – and ultimately, an early grave. Since 2017, he's been performing with famed engineer, producer, and songwriter Alan Parsons, who worked on Abbey Road, Dark Side of the Moon, and a host of other records that you've probably owned for decades. It should come as no surprise, then, that as a member of the Alan Parsons Project, Kollman's gig is to sound great. And he does so with a quick-and-easy rig. After getting into Nashville's Ryman Auditorium from a sweaty gig from the night before in Georgia, the band got set up and PG's John Bohlinger rolled in to catch up with Kollman about his simple road setup.Shop Jeff Kollman's Gear:Gibson SG SG Faded Special - https://sweetwater.sjv.io/XmmjqXXotic EP Booster - https://sweetwater.sjv.io/0ZLNRPXotic SP Compressor - https://sweetwater.sjv.io/q414NOXotic RC Boosters - https://sweetwater.sjv.io/21v9v0Ibanez Tube Screamer TS-808 - https://sweetwater.sjv.io/DKkxEoTC Electronic Polytune - https://sweetwater.sjv.io/k0oEQVFull Rig Info: https://www.premierguitar.com/videos/rig-rundown/alan-parsons-live-projectSubscribe to PG's Channel: http://bit.ly/SubscribePGYouTubeWin Guitar Gear: https://bit.ly/GiveawaysPG Don't Miss a Rundown: http://bit.ly/RIgRundownENLMerch & Magazines: https://shop.premierguitar.comPG's Facebook: https://facebook.com/premierguitarPG's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/premierguitar/PG's Twitter: https://twitter.com/premierguitarPG's Threads: https://threads.net/@premierguitarPG's TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@premierguitar[Brought to you by D'Addario: https://ddar.io/wykyk-rr]0:00 - Mark Knopfler & D'Addario0:15 - Jeff Kollman Playing Intro1:23 - John Bohlinger Intro1:46 - Gibson SG Faded Special4:19 - Fender Wildwood '59 Stratocaster8:43 - Gibson Custom Shop Historic Featherweight Wildwood Spec Les Paul12:49 - Marshall JCM 200015:24 - Rig Rundown & D'Addario15:48 - Jeff Kollman's Pedalboard23:55 - D'Addario© Copyright Gearhead Communications LLC, 2024#guitar #rigrundown #guitarist #guitarplayer #guitargear #alanparsonsproject

In 2016, they officially formed as the Strays, adding a couple players to round out the five-person outfit. After a few years gigging around the state and some festival slots, the band hit it big in 2023 when their song “Wondering Why” went viral on TikTok. It climbed up the Billboard charts and landed the band a deal with RCA Records. That led to their Dave Cobb-produced second studio LP, Made by These Moments, which was released on July 26.In September, the band made their debut at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on tour behind the record, and guitarists Drew Nix and Zach Rishel brought a beautiful stable of American-made 6-strings for the occasion. Who knew finding a golf club at our table could spark such an amusing journey through our latest episode of "Try That in a Small Town"? We kick things off with some lighthearted banter about over-preparing, giant bongs, and the NSAI awards, where our song was honored among the "10 Songs I Wish I'd Written." Performing for the first time at the historic Ryman Auditorium was nothing short of humbling, especially with our peers recognizing our work despite its political nuances. The acoustic set, performed with minimal resources and technical support, provided plenty of laughs and challenges, but also highlighted our gratitude for our backstage teams. The episode takes a turn as we pay tribute to the legendary Chris Christopherson, whose influence on our music is undeniable. We share personal reflections on his legacy and celebrate his masterpieces like "Sunday Morning Coming Down." Navigating the unpredictable nature of live performances, we recount tales of stage lighting mishaps and overcoming personal challenges like partial vision impairment. These stories reveal the resilience and adaptability needed on stage while also showcasing the lighter side of our performances.Dedication to our fans is at the heart of this episode as we give a shout-out to our super fan Ed and address feedback from a more critical listener. We cherish every comment, whether glowing or less enthusiastic, and invite all listeners to engage with us. Wrapping things up with a humorous discussion about an unusual golf club gift, we emphasize the importance of audience interaction and encourage you to subscribe and explore our merchandise. The sisters are sooooooo excitedthat we got to talk to Bowen Young! We chatted with this divine duo about allthings music, like Brandon deciding to move to Nashville and “just give it awhirl,” and Clare's advice to “lean into the weird” because we're all uniqueand special. Nashville-based duo BOWEN * YOUNG embarks on a musical journey with their debut album, Us, a melodic tapestry woven by the harmonious souls of Clare Bowen and Brandon Robert Young. Produced by acclaimed Americana songwriter/producer Sean McConnell, their 10-track revelation is slated for a global release on May 3rd via Snakefarm/PIAS. Hailing from rural Australia, Clare, and Connecticut native Brandon infuse 'Us' with haunting, ethereal songs that delve into the depths of ferocious love, heartbreaking loss, and unwavering hope. Their musical collaboration, aptly named "Cinematic Americana," is a testament to the emotive songwriting, honest lyrics, and hypnotic harmonies that encapsulate their special bond. In the luminous shadow of their individual backgrounds, Clare, famed for her role as Scarlett O'Connor in 'Nashville,' and Brandon, a seasoned musician touring with legends like John Hiatt, share a common North Star—sweeping emotion, intimate moments, and bombastic sound. The couple's creative synergy found its missing piece in Sean McConnell. The revelation struck while composing 'Water To Wine,' a song that seamlessly captures the essence of their profound connection. Yet, life's shadows emerged in the form of 'Dangerous Love,' a single born from a harrowing experience when an assailant invaded their home. Undeterred, Clare and Brandon transformed adversity into art, choosing joy over fear. Entering the studio with McConnell and producer Roger Alan Nichols, they discovered the sweet spot of true emotion, using their crackling energy as the cornerstone. From the stripped-back 'Halo' to the unpolished honesty of 'To The Bone,' each track on 'Us' resonates with the authenticity of their musical journey. Clare's arrival in Music City in 2012 marked the beginning of a musical voyage with luminaries like Vince Gill and the Zac Brown Band. A pediatric cancer survivor, her life story adds a poignant layer to their narrative, emphasizing the resilience to embrace both light and dark. Brandon's journey, beginning in 2000, unfolds with nights spent filling composition books with melodies in Nashville. His collaborations with John Hiatt and contributions to projects such as 'Johnny Cash Forever Words' showcase the breadth of his musical prowess, heard in shows like 'Shameless'. Fate orchestrated their union in 2013, when Brandon became Clare's last-minute duet partner. Their unique chemistry blossomed into love, culminating in a magical proposal at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium and a union officiated by John Carter Cash in 2017. The couple's musical saga continues to resonate globally such as sharing the stage with Billy Joel at BST/Hyde Park last year, a headlining US tour, and an astounding 838% growth on Spotify. The spotlight has embraced them, and the world eagerly awaits the May 3rd release of 'Us.' As the pages turn to 2024, the duo anticipates their return to the UK for the Highways Festival at The Royal Albert Hall on May 17th & 18th among other exciting opportunities. The symphony of BOWEN * YOUNG continues an enchanting tale of love, resilience, and a harmonious odyssey through the corridors of life and art. 6-time Grammy winner Russ Taff's voice has defined the emotional potential of Gospel music for over half a century. His perfectly raspy tenor transcends genre and era, first as the lead vocalist for Gospel legends The Imperials, then as a phenomenally successful solo artist. That legacy now takes on a whole new depth as Taff unveils Cover Story, a collection of rock, soul, and Americana songs that resonate deeply with the struggles he has privately endured throughout his life onstage. Longtime fans may be surprised to find the Gospel singer interpreting tunes by The National, Prince, Blind Willie Johnson, Bob Dylan, U2, Duran Duran, Bill Withers, Paul Simon, and others. However, students of Roots Gospel, Americana, Soul, and Blues will immediately see the thread. These are songs of spiritual survival. (Don't miss executive producer Steve Taylor's Kickstarter campaign to release the project on vinyl and raise funds to promote it to a wide audience.) In a surprising – and risky – move for a Gospel singer, Taff decided to go public with his long struggle with addiction, recovery, relapse, and ultimate inner healing via the revealing 2018 documentary Russ Taff: I Still Believe. Instead of ending his career singing in churches and at Bill Gaither's Homecoming events, audiences responded with deep appreciation for his candor and humility. A recent conversation on the recovery-themed Soft White Underbelly YouTube channel is currently generating similar enthusiasm. Taff, now 18 years sober and free of the need to hide anything, is more excited than ever to share music – and his story – with audiences around the country and the world. Taylor, (the artist, professor, songwriter, producer, and filmmaker connected to projects by Sixpence None The Richer, Newsboys, Chevelle, and others) had pulled his critically acclaimed but ill-fated mainstream rock band Chagall Guevara (MCA) together for a one-time reunion show at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium. A special post-show afterparty at Jack White's Blue Room included an on-stage jam with several musical luminaries, including Taff (who had worked with Chagall members Lynn Nichols and Dave Perkins on several projects.) Taff's impromptu jam on Charlie Peacock's “Down In The Lowlands” thrilled the small crowd. Hearing Taff slay those songs, Taylor remembered an idea his longtime friend, bandmate, and musical collaborator John Mark Painter had suggested much earlier. What if they took their old friend into a recording studio with a slate of great songs and captured that raw, guttural energy and emotional honesty? They have now done just that. We are thrilled to sit down with Taff, Taylor, and Painter on this very special episode of the podcast, and to give our audience a first listen to Cover Story. From Jack White to the Ryman Auditorium, Steven Tyler to Reba McEntire, Loretta Harper Is leaving her mark on the music industry one bespoke design at a time. Having started her career in costume design for clubs where she was a dancer, Harper's experience runs the gamut from film, television, and music videos to world tours, commercial productions, award shows, and documentaries, preservation, and conservation.A performer herself, Harper's passion for fashion design stems from a deepunderstanding of the rich history of textiles and the fashion industry, as well as what her clients need in order to do their jobs to the best of their ability. “I always take the environment into consideration. It doesn't matter if you're a singer on tour or an individual coming to me for a gala gown, if you're not comfortable in your clothes, you're not going to be yourself. When it comes to designing, I draw my inspiration from whoever the person is that I'm working with. They must be the original who stands out and sets the standards.”Harper places equal emphasis on historical accuracy and proper preservation in her conservation work. She is also the textile archivist for the Elvis Presley estate. She is no longer full time with Reba but we did 6 years working together. BUCKLE UP Y'ALL. I think you're going to love this conversation with Tim Ross. We talk about everything! Contentment, sexuality, seeking purpose over understanding, and living a life for Jesus. I really appreciate Tim, the work that he does, and his honesty. His new book Welcome to the Basement is a great read and would make a great gift for a friend! I enjoyed this conversation a ton and I can't wait to have Tim back on the show! And just a note for those of you that may have miniBFFs listening along, we also get into some conversation regarding singleness, sex, and dating that is probably best for grownup ears and not for miniBFF ears, so just keep that in mind. . . . . .
