How to Direct A-List Talent: Ol Parker on Rom-Coms, Rejection & Set Etiquette How do you maintain your creative voice while directing some of the biggest movie stars on the planet? This week, Giles Alderson and Dom Lenoir sit down with Hollywood hitmaker Ol Parker to unpack the business of making audiences feel good. Known for writing and directing global smashes like Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and Ticket to Paradise, Ol joins host Giles Alderson to discuss his latest feature film, the Netflix R-rated corporate comedy Office Romance, starring Jennifer Lopez, Brett Goldstein, and a massive ensemble of comedy heavyweights. Ol delivers a masterclass in longevity, collaboration, and set management. He opens up about the unique challenge of directing a script written by his lead actors, how to balance hard-R comedy with touching narrative beats, and why a director's job is often about listening to the experts around them.
The new Netflix film Office Romance pairs rom-com veteran Jennifer Lopez with Brett Goldstein in a story about the hazards of falling for your boss. But is the on-screen chemistry there? And how does it fit into J.Lo's rom-com history? Directed by Ol Parker (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again), the film was written by Goldstein and Joe Kelly, one of the writers he worked with on Ted Lasso. If you need another Jennifer Lopez fix, check out these episodes:Can Jennifer Lopez's 'This Is Me... Episode 1650: Here We Go Again
Actor and former Obama White House staffer Kal Penn joins Sam to talk about how he doesn't make calculated decisions and hates when people suggest he makes a decision tree. They unpack the hope of last week's elections and his serendipitous decades-long connection to Zohran Mamdani. He explains how every job he's ever said yes to has turned into subsequent exciting opportunities that have all been meant to be. They wonder if his former job in the White House even exists anymore, talk about the destruction of the East Wing, and the importance of older leaders training their replacements. Plus they argue about the merits of space travel and if we should leave earth or stay on the ground forever. Hantavirus Outbreak Climbs to 11: Here We Go Again? Mamdani Shamefully Slashes Veterans Services. California's June Open Primary is Huge Opportunity the Indys. RIP, Donald Gibb AKA Ogre. World Cup Halftime Show. Paul Rieckhoff closes the week with a solo briefing on a scoreboard the cable shows won't put on screen. Trump returned from Beijing with no real wins, while a confidential U.S. intelligence assessment — first reported by The Washington Post — details how China is exploiting the war in Iran to gain ground on the United States militarily, economically, and diplomatically. Xi looked Trump in the eye and warned that mishandling Taiwan would lead to a clash with America. Trump, asked about promised arms sales to Taiwan on the flight home, sounded ready to sell them out the same way he sold out Ukraine. That's not partisan spin. That's the read from the no-BS chair. From there, Paul walks through a 30-hour Russian missile and drone barrage on Kyiv, Hegseth canceling a U.S. brigade deployment to Poland (a gift-wrapped present to Putin), a new hantavirus cluster on a cruise ship that's giving early-COVID déjà vu, and Mayor Mamdani's shameful 13% cut to the NYC Department of Veterans Services right before Memorial Day. He also flags California's June open primary as a once-in-a-cycle chance for independents to actually move the needle, salutes Ukraine's drone operators schooling NATO at a Swedish exercise, remembers Donald Gibb, and closes with Harrison Ford's commencement call to the next generation. WET LEG "mangetout (The Dare remix)" LYKKE LI "Lucky Again" THEODORA "Des Mythos" ANNA CALVI "God's Lonely Man (feat. Iggy Pop)" NINA HAGEN "Alle Wollen In Den Himmel" waterbaby "Clay" FREDERIC SOULARD "Disarray ft. Piers Faccini" PERFUME GENIUS "Undercurrent (Clean Heart)" FCUKERS "Beatback" SHELF LIVES "tone deF" PUMA BLUE "Mister Lost" LEO VINCENT "Loving isn't easy" YAN WAGNER "Here We Go Again" WOOKA "How We Party"

Story Point Estimations are failing your Team! - Here We Go Again...Story Pointing wasn't a completely novel idea. It evolved out of the Delphi method — a research technique that helped drive consensus and forecasting built on collective wisdom. In 1950s, RAND Corporation began using it as a way to forecast the effect of technology on warfare. So, it wasn't just an idea dreamed up by someone in the Agile community randomly — no. It's actually based on a scientific approach. Something that's been applied and true in other disciplines for many, many years. And, when Scrum needed a prescriptive technique to help the Teams estimate and measure the amount of work the Team could consistently deliver Sprint after Sprint, this became a recommended approach. How to connect with AgileDad:- [website] https://www.agiledad.com/- [instagram] https://www.instagram.com/agile_coach/- [facebook] https://www.facebook.com/RealAgileDad/- [Linkedin] https://www.linkedin.com/in/leehenson/

Season 31, Episode 3: Here We Go AgainEpisode #210 of Am I On The Air? — marking DONMEGA's episode count since joining the PopCulturePros Network — keeps Season 31 rolling with another stacked week of entertainment chaos. Covering everything from December 10 through December 16, this episode is loaded with sequels, returns, documentaries, and finales, because Hollywood apparently has no off switch. On the movie side, it's time to swap bodies (again) with Freakier Friday. The long-awaited follow-up brings the familiar chaos back with a fresh twist, and DONMEGA breaks down what's new, what feels classic, and whether this sequel earns its place or just proves some ideas refuse to stay in the past.TV brings the heavy hitters. Fallout returns for Season 2, expanding its brutal post-apocalyptic world with higher stakes and even messier moral decisions. Percy Jackson is back for Season 2 as well, leveling up the mythological mayhem with new characters, bigger challenges, and gods who clearly still haven't figured things out. On the documentary front, Paramount+ drops Predators, a conversation-starting deep dive that DONMEGA breaks down for its subject matter, impact, and why it's getting people talking. And then it's finale time. IT: Welcome To Derry wraps up its season, and DONMEGA reflects on how it all ends and what it adds to the larger IT universe — because nothing says closure like creeping dread. With sharp takes, veteran perspective, and just the right amount of sarcasm, Here We Go Again proves once more that the entertainment cycle never really stops — it just keeps coming back around.Hit play and catch up on everything you need to know, only on Am I On The Air?.
Hey SNAFU fans! We wanted to share another episode from a show that we think you'll enjoy: Here We Go Again with Kal Penn. Each week, Kal Penn takes today’s trends and headlines and asks: Why does history keep repeating itself? From the new space race and plane delays to fad drugs and movie remakes, our guest's answers will make you feel better about everything. Back in 2008, it seemed like everyone was talking about the financial crisis. And then came The Big Short, Michael Lewis' book-to-screen story that exposed the corrupt subprime mortgage industry and its impact on the 08 crash. Now, it seems like everyone's wondering: Are we heading towards another big recession? Who would you trust if you were that very man who exposed that broken system in the first place? Kal gets candid with journalist and author Michael Lewis about our financial future, who he trusts with his money, and why.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Initially, Kal Penn was hesitant to do a podcast because “every actor has a podcast.” Fortunately for us, he created Here We Go Again, focused on why history keeps repeating itself. “I loved the fact that you could talk about history repeating itself through pop culture, through politics. But it's not a political podcast by any means.” That said, Penn, an actor who took a break from Hollywood to work in the Obama administration, still very much has a foot in advocacy. “If you wanna go through the death spiral of social media and make yourself anxious,” go for it, he says, but he's not going to join. Instead, he's going to invite people to “come knock on doors...it's gonna move the needle on real conversations.” And one thing fans continue to discuss is their love for his Harold & Kumar franchise. Recounting a time he ran into political adviser Karl Rove and found out he was a fan, Penn realized, “as long as we stay truthful to the characters, the hope is that as polarized as this world is, we can still make a movie for everybody.” See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Kal Penn has worked everywhere from Hollywood to the White House. In this joint episode of SNAFU and Kal's new podcast, HERE WE GO AGAIN, Ed tells Kal the story of a small town that decided to secede from America, only to realize their desire to buy beer and party would win out in the end Then, they call up U.S. historian Richard Kreitner to learn about secession movements in America today, like Calexit, Texit, and the Greater Idaho Movement. Back on this day in 1987 Whitesnake's "Here We Go Again" topped the charts. The racy, unchoreographed music video was most notable about this song.
The Brooklyn-based Hip-Hop group Stetsasonic were one of the premier innovators of the 80s. At any given moment you could hear live instrumentation, sampling and beat-boxing. This weekend's message is titled "Here We Go Again" from Acts 25. Maybe you've felt like you're stuck in a situation on repeat—trying to do the right thing, but facing the same resistance. That's exactly where we find the Apostle Paul today. As we dive into the story, we'll uncover two essential principles for those who are waiting on God: walking in His steps and trusting His outcome. Whether you're in a season of waiting or walking through opposition, this message will encourage you to stay faithful as a follower of Jesus Christ. Let's listen in.
