It's come a long way from its game developer roots and the NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference (GTC) 2025 edition was so well attended, it was straining the capacity of the San Jose Convention Center, its long-term home. John Abbott returns to discuss what debuted and the implications with host Eric Hanselman. NVIDIA has taken a starring role in AI and this year's GTC had all of the glitz of a Hollywood production – CEO's of major tech partners delivered a video tribute and Disney-designed robots cavorted on stage with CEO Jensen Huang. The event reinforced the extent to which NVIDIA has become a systems and software company, rather than simply a supplier of high performance silicon. The event highlighted not only new GPU's and rack-scale compute systems, but also countered the concerns around declines in GPU demand raised by the release of the DeepSeek AI models. The shift to reasoning models for AI is expected to drive further demand. The impacts on energy consumption and associated pressure on energy transition plans weren't mentioned, but are a large part of the larger discussion around AI. For this episode of the Data Center Frontier Show podcast, DCF's editors sat down with Udi Paret, Chief Business Officer of ZutaCore, and Alison Deane, ZutaCore's VP of Marketing, to discuss the company's impactful showing at the NVIDIA GTC [GPU Technology Conference] event this past March. Held at the San Jose Convention Center in the heart of Silicon Valley, both ZutaCore executives were intensively on hand for the event. A Busy GTC for Zutacore At GTC, ZutaCore showcased its direct-to-chip, waterless liquid cooling technology, and announced support for the NVIDIA H100 and H200 Tensor Core GPUs to help maximize data centers' AI performance while delivering sustainability benefits. "I wore them out," said Deane of her press scheduling at NVIDIA GTC for Paret and his counterpart at GTC, ZutaCore CEO, Erez Freibach. Paret and Deane said that Zutacore drew significant interest at GTC for the breadth of the company's announcements surrounding its HyperCool platform, comprised of direct-to-chip, waterless two-phase liquid cooling technology. ZutaCore's HyperCool dielectric cold plate liquid cooling system involves a direct-contact, self-regulated, pool-boiling based evaporator, enabling networking and simultaneously cooling all chips on-demand. Several leading server manufacturers are engaged with ZutaCore to complete the certification and testing on the NVIDIA GPU platforms. Compact, easy to install, and capable of cooling up 1500-watt processors and above, the company notes the platform is also qualified by processor manufacturers Intel and AMD, and deployed in major server manufacturers including Dell, SuperMicro, ASUS, Pegatron. Centrally during the GTC 2024 event, ZutaCore showcased its H100 and H200 waterless dielectric cold plates supporting densities up to 1500W in the booths of Boston Limited, Hyve Solutions, and Pegatron. Comparative Cooling Challenges During the podcast, Paret emphasized the advantages of ZutaCore's Hypercool technology, while addressing comparative challenges faced by single-phase water-based solutions. "The AI explosion is causing a market shift and positioning ZutaCore strategically," he said. With the NVIDIA H100's ability to speed up large language models by 30x over the previous technology generation, and the H200 being touted as the world's most efficient GPU for supercharging AI and HPC workloads, it's safe to these are two of the highest performing chips ever designed (even leaving aside NVIDIA's much-balleyhooed Blackwell platform.) However, with each GPU consuming 700W of power, this will challenge data centers that are already struggling to control factors of heat, energy consumption and footprint. ZutaCore's HyperCool direct-to-chip waterless two-phase liquid cooling technology was designed specifically to answer such demands, and has already been proven to cool processors of 1500W or more, and currently for 100 kW per rack of computing power. “Next-generation GPUs have unique cooling requirements that are most effectively solved by waterless, direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology for current GPU of 1500W while increasing rack-processing density by 300%,” said ZutaCore CEO Freibach, who is a co-founder of the company. “Not only do hyperscalers eliminate the risk and massive expense of water leakage in the server, but they can also scale their cooling needs with little to no modifications to current real estate, power, or cooling systems. This is a game changer for the future of AI and HPC.” Meanwhile, the ZutaCore executives noted how the increasing need for sustainable AI solutions highlights the importance of sustainable practices in data centers. In the arena of such concerns, ZutaCore's partnership and white-label sales agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) dramatically addresses the pressing challenges faced by data centers today, including the enhancement of heat exhaust efficiency, promotion of energy conservation, and decarbonization. Here's a timeline of key points on the podcast. 1:34 - Udi Paret, CBO of ZutaCore, reflects on the recent NVIDIA GTC event, highlighting the AI explosion and a major shift in design and consumption observed during GTC. Paret notes that CRN listed their company as one of the hottest at the event. 4:09 - Alison Deane, the company's VP of Marketing, discusses ZutaCore's success at GTC in being featured by partners like Boston Limited and Pegatron and showcasing its liquid cooling technology, w hich she says drew significant interest. 10:50 - Udi Paret elaborates on the advantages of the HyperCool technology, emphasizing the platform's elimination of water in servers, the implementation of phase change on the chip for future-proofing, and how this approach addresses challenges faced by single-phase water-based solutions in terms of scalability, sustainability, and performance. 19:01 - Data Center Frontier inquires about the competitiveness of two-phase dielectric direct-to-chip cooling compared to immersion cooling. 22:08 - Udi Paret explains the mechanics surrounding the dissipation of heat from the ZutaCore HyperCool system and emphasizes the platform's high-quality heat reuse capabilities. 26:08 - The discussion touches on ZutaCore partner Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' involvement in data centers, and reflects on the overall industry's growth.Deane and Paret recap more experiences from NVIDIA GTC, highlighting the buzz around AI in general and ZutaCore's innovative liquid cooling solutions in particular, leading to enabling net-zero goals. 28:47 - Udi Paret touches again on the market shift produced by the AI technology explosion, noting vertically integrated plays across various industries which aid in ZutaCore's strategic positioning.
It was just before the opening evening session of the recent 2024 Nvidia GTC conference at the San Jose Convention Center and it got quiet quickly. Alwin Bakkenes, Russell Datz, the carmaker's national media relations manager, Bruce Aldrich, the co-host of The Weekly Driver Podcast, and I all stepped in and closed our respective doors of the 2024 EX90 electric SUV perched in the corner of the expo hall. The 2024 all-electric Volvo EX90 sport utility vehicle was presented at the recent Nvidia GTC conference in San Jose, California. Volvo and Nvidia, the multinational corporation and technology company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, have had a business partnership since 2016. And with the conference an in-person gathering for the conference for the first time in five years, Volvo was among several manufacturers' representatives in attendance. Despite his software engineering expertise and his explanation, Bakkenes didn't need to apologize for his lack of speaking abilities. He's a skilled corporate spokesperson and he was our guest on episode #284 of the podcast Aldrich and I started in August 2017. "This particular car is the start of the new era for Volvo Cars," said Bakkenes. "It's born electric, it's born software-defined and it's very safe. What we have done is build the software architecture based on what we call our core technology which we built with Nvidia." What Bakennes means, and how the soon-to-be-available EX90 is different from the current Volvo lineup, is the subject of our podcast. Please join us as our guest explains how the new vehicle's powertrain, chassis systems, and the driver assistance features all operate on their own computers and what that means to consumers.

Welcome to another episode of 7-Minute Marketing with Pam. My name is Pam Didner. I love sharing a little dose of B2B, digital, content marketing and sales enablement, seven minutes at a time. In my previous episode, I talked about the importance of keeping up with marketing technology. One of the best ways I mentioned is to talk to various vendors at marketing conferences. When I went to Martech West in the San Jose Convention Center early April, I did my rounds and talked to different vendors. I am not affiliated with any of these vendors but I want to tell you about 3 vendors that caught my eye and share with you what they offer. Voicify You can use their platform to create a voice-enabled application which can be downloaded to Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Microsoft Cortana and your chatbots. It allows brands to seamlessly create and manage their voice content across any number of smart speakers & devices. This is similar to Libsyn, which some of you may use to manage your podcast episodes. Libsyn lets you upload your audio files and then automatically syndicate to iTunes, iHeart radio and other podcast or radio channels. The Voicify platform is the Libsyn version for voice and more. For Libsyn, you upload the finished audio files. For Voicify, you can manage your content and a list of questions and answers all in one platform. You can update and refresh your content on a regular basis and you can also customize and deploy your content for different voice assistants and chatbots. This is the first voice management platform I have come across. Again, it’s called Voicify. Strala The next one is Strala. I enjoyed talking to the co-founder, Rob Clarke. He is incredibly passionate about tracking customers’ online and offline touch points to improve customer journeys and quantify ROI, basically tracking all your marketing efforts end-to-end. He said if you really want to track each touch point, you need to standardize your touch points’ tracking mechanism with consistent marketing taxonomies across all channels, publishers, content and messaging. I 100% agree with him. Most marketing organizations are divided by marketing functions. Marketers tend to focus on measuring the marketing they manage. But someone needs to have a holistic view and take ownership of automating the tracking beyond basic UTM parameters. They offer 3 products: Touchpoint, I just mentioned. Journey Stream that shows customers’ touchpoints throughout their journeys. And, Prism is their standard dashboard. I know many vendors offer similar tools. I just thought their approach is sound for standardizing all the tracking, not just using APIs to pull data from various sources. Again, it’s called Strala. They position themselves as “Turnkey Insights and attributions across all online and offline touchpoints.” Very cool. Alyce Ok, this company caught my eye because they want to help you pick the perfect gifts for your customers. Alyce bases its gift suggestions on information that is pulled from customers’ social media accounts. The company can also provide popular gift options on their platform. Apparently, they have more than 30,000 gift options. Their platform uses AI to select the gift options, and is integrated with SalesForce.com to track conversions. The company will also manage your direct mail logistics. Here is a nice caveat: You can’t go wrong with gift selection. Whatever you choose, your recipient will always be able to donate the value to a meaningful charity or exchange for another equally valued gift. I think Alyce is a great option if you plan to do one-to-one hyper-personalized account-based marketing (ABM) for strategic accounts. I talked to over 30 vendors and got a good understanding of how each one of them wants to fit into the overall sales and marketing processes. Understanding martech is overwhelming. The key is to understand what challenges you aim to solve and take it from there. If you have any questions, you know where to reach me. Just google Pam Didner. Again, if you like the podcast, please leave comments on iTunes. So keep hustling, my friends. You got this.
The huge truck cab couldn't have been any more conspicuous. It dominated the back of the main showroom at the recent GPU Technology Conference in San Jose, California, and attracted plenty of attention. The all-electric prototype from TuSimple is aimed at providing cheaper, more-efficient long-hauling trucking. TuSimple, with offices in China and the United States, is among numerous startups working to automate parts of the long-haul trucking and parcel delivery industries. The Chinese electric car XPENG was part of the recent GPU Technolgy Conference in San Jose. As part of the technology, semi-trucks would be allowed to operate beyond the 11-hour daily restriction for human drivers. Bruce Aldrich and James Raia, co-hosts of The Weekly Driver Podcast, interview with Xiaodi Hou, the chief technology officer of TuSimple, as our second guest on our latest episode. With another company representative, we conduct the interview inside the cavernous TuSimple cab. We discuss the future of the autonomous truck industry and the company's experiences testing its technology. During the episode, all recorded at the conference held at the San Jose Convention Center, will also speak with Robert Liu of XPENG Motors and first guest Cameron Gieda from AutonomouStuff. Liu is the director of program management for the Chinese electric vehicle and technology company based in Beijing but with an office in San Jose. Gieda, the regional sales manager of the AutonomouStuff, discusses the San Jose-based company's position as a supplier R&D platforms, products, software and engineering services for the advancement of robotics and autonomy systems. The Weekly Driver encourages and appreciates feedback from our listeners. Please forward episode links to family, friends and colleagues.
