Being in a happy relationship doesn’t mean you stop getting attracted to other people. Attraction is a natural process of life. So, when does the attraction turn into an emotional affair? Is it considered cheating if you have emotional attachments with someone - even without being physically or sexually intimate?   Today, I explore what emotional infidelity is and how it is different from sexual infidelity. I share my personal and professional stories of emotional infidelity and how to use them to have a deeper and more authentic relationship. I also share the signs of an emotional affair, the slippery slopes to understand and watch for in your relationship as well as the different ways to safeguard your relationship from them.    “Just because you have an attraction towards somebody else is not a sign that you’re in a wrong relationship. It’s what you do with that attraction.” - Pripo Teplitsky      This week on Relationships! Let’s Talk About It:   How friendships or a simple attraction can sometimes turn into emotional infidelity. The starting point of an emotional affair. Examples of slippery slopes that people look for and feed into emotional infidelity. My experience with emotional infidelity. How a solely focused child-centered relationship can challenge your marriage. The story of my encounter with a woman that looked like my first love. Examples of perfect settings that pave the way to an emotional affair. The statistics among men and women who cheated on their spouses with someone from work. Why the brain is the largest sexual organ. The first step towards rebuilding trust and fidelity. What to do if you feel your partner is having an affair. How to feed the positivity in your relationship with your partner. The right and wrong ways to set a good foundation for transparency. A process on how to get clarity and establish safe boundaries. The best time to discuss problems and have heart conversations with your partner.     Sponsored by Ancestral Mothers of Scotland Retreat   Do you dream of learning more about your Ancestral Mothers, but are unsure of how to get started? Karen Guggenheim is the Founder and Chief Executive of the World Happiness Summit, WOHASU. Along with her team, she brings together game changers and researchers focused on using science and practical habits to increase happiness from the personal level to the national.   Karen has a personal passion to create a happier world and plans to do so by using science to show how happiness changes our biochemical state, giving us the ability to attain our highest potential. WOHASU has been purposely created as a buffet of research and hands on activities with the intention that attendees can determine the data and habits that resonate internally.   I met Karen while she was in Los Angeles and I was enamored by her passion and dedication to bring an incredible group of people and the community together. Talking with Karen is an ode to the science behind the importance of our happiness. Happiness is not fluffy, it is researched, practical and possible for anybody.   Karen and I talk about how most people end up making themselves less happy while seeking fulfillment and she gives us a road map with directions to cultivate our own happiness. We discuss the science behind how the school system is holding children back from attaining a higher IQ and the researched change we could implement today to improve the system. This is the story of loss and how it manifested into one of the world’s most impactful summits to date.   Radically Vibrant Karen   Transforming loss into a happy experience that celebrates the life of your lost one, while understanding you’re still human and need to grieve Tackling happiness directly by forcing yourself to be happy, will make you unhappy, while tackling it indirectly through your spiritual life, intellectual relationship, and physical and emotional well being leads to happiness as a whole Using science to showcase the necessity of happiness and ensuring the research is accessible to as many people as possible   Radically Inspired Clarity   Our brain has a negativity bias, since we don’t actually need happiness to survive, and we must discover how to work around it through daily habits that cultivate happiness Become the person you want to be by doing as they would and acting as if you are that person prior to fully transitioning into the higher version of yourself We cannot utilize our full potential if we are unhappy because our energy is spent on negativity instead of self growth, opportunity and gratitude   Karen Guggenheim Answers…   How did a personal loss manifest into a Happiness Summit with attendees from all over the world? What does science say about stress’s effect on our ability to forgive and be happy? How do we identify and transition out of our conditioned belief that once we acquire the job, the relationship, the car, then we’ll find happiness? Where do you see the future of society if it were to totally adopt the practices of the World Happiness Summit?   Radically Loved Quotes   “Something that we haven’t touched upon that is extremely important for happiness is gratitude. It’s very hard to be unhappy while you’re being grateful.”   “Happiness is not fluffy, you have to apply yourself. You have to tackle the different areas of your life that contribute to happiness and then, your happiness will increase.”   “Happiness is preventive medicine.”   “There is a lot of potential to make immediate and lasting change in society. It’s important to make this roadmap so societies can thrive by optimizing these resources.”   WOHASU is giving Radically Loved listeners 15% off of a 3-Day Summit Pass. He has helped people like John Travolta, Jenny McCarthy and Paul Newman along their health journey. His most recent book, Food Sanity: How To Eat in a World of Fads and Fiction is an award winning, national best-seller.   Dr. Friedman spent part of his career as a TV and a radio host, quickly finding that each guest he interviewed had differing opinions on food. He decided to research each food group to uncover what the real truth was when it came to their effect on human biology. He discovered curious insights into the working of the human body and the prevention of disease.   This conversation with Dr. Friedman had me ready to run to my kitchen and throw out everything that is not nutritional or nourishing. As Dr. Friedman explains, the ideal human diet is based off of 90% plant foods and 10% animal proteins.   Dr. Friedman and I talk about fad diets, why food science should never be trusted, how the meat industry has created a perception for the need for meat and when we should filter our water.   Radically Vibrant David   How fad diets take flight and why they initially work and then stop working Why you can’t trust science surrounding food, the meaning of “unbuyased” and what you have to trust instead The truth behind cavemen’s diets and why we should replicate this diet and the diet of chimpanzees     Radically Inspired Clarity   Avoiding pork is crucial as pigs are naturally extremely toxic, so much so that if bitten by a rattlesnake, the snake will die Become your own detective and figure out where the water and foods you are putting in your body are actually coming from If you have to use a microwave, be aware that the packaging can be even worse for you than the processed food   Dr. David Friedman Answers…   What’s the ideal diet? Should we filter our water? How has the meat industry created our perception that meat is an important component of our diet?   Radically Loved Quotes   “Diet is your way of living.”   “Permanent weight loss and good health can be achieved by doing three things, eating healthy, eating obesogens and getting deep restorative sleep. That’s the secret recipe.”   “The more red meat you eat, the more you ingest a certain molecule and the higher chance you are going to have colon cancer.”   “I broke down each food group to see if we’re designed by our biology to eat it, if it makes common sense and if there is unbuyased science for it.”   A Little More About Our Guest   Dr. David Friedman is the national best-selling author of Food Sanity: How To Eat in a World of Fads and Fiction. Findhorn, Scotland Retreat - March 12, 2012 Morning How to be free of past hurts and conditioning? Is there a method that can help, a spiritual practice? Can meditation help? John explains why methods and spiritual practices ultimately don’t work. Spiritual practices can help bring you to the door of your being, but they can’t take you through the door. It is only a shift of orientation that can take you through the door, into pure you and into freedom from past hurts and from the conditioning in your self.   Dialogues with John de Ruiter bring you into your heart, and into the depths of your being, where the meaning of life opens up in awareness.    More information about John de Ruiter - Knowing Reality at www.johnderuiter.com
