This intro was a bit longer and I feel like I didn't necessarily do the subject justice. But I'll just keep trying to improve! Toki has made a new bed near my recording desk and has been present for all of the making of this episode. This week we are very honored to welcome innovative musician, righteous guitarist, and legit-ass human Nick Reinhart to the hall of discussion. You might know Nick from his band Tera Melos who were label and touring mates of RX during our Sargent House days, or you might know him from his more current projects such as Disheveled Cuss, Undo K From Hot, or Vertical Scratchers. Nick has a very hefty and droppable list of names of bands and musicians he's played with including playing with Best Coast on late night tv performances and jamming with various indie and mainstream legends. All the while, Nick maintains his authentic and vibrantly stoic vibe while always asking questions of how we listen to music. In this conversation we talk about burritos, Nick's sonic inspirations, home studio setups, whether or not we'd make music for a McDonals commercials, over stuffing guitar racks and pedal shelving and lots more! Nick talks about how he fell into music, and how he transitioned into punk rock. He talks about anything he would have changed during the earlier days of Tera Melos. In this episode Jerrell speaks with singer and guitar player Nick Reinhart. He is the lead singer and guitarist of band Tera Melos, and has collaborated with Mike Watt, Nels Cline, and Greg Saunier in Big Walnuts Yonder. Frits Orman from Post Trash accurately describes has as "One of the only guitar heroes we have left. As innovation in guitar playing wanes and every possible niche of rock music gets its revival, He continues to be on the forefront of the art." Nick shares his story learning guitar, his philosophy on approaching pedal effects and talks about his latest album he released last year from his recent band Desheveled Cuss. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Disheveled Cuss is the new, more accessible side project of Tera Melos’ inventive and talented guitarist Nick Reinhart, and delivers a satisfying twist on your favorite 90s tropes. We discuss their self-titled debut record in-depth in episode #139.
Join us for a fun chat about Tera Melos X'ed Out - a record that is generally "not assaulting or offensive" to Poots, but does have "weird gross shit that sounds like someone trying to play an instrument that is missing two strings" and parts that "sound like Guitar Center". This record is an enjoyable indie/math rock/experimental jammer that has a little something for everyone.
Nick Reinhart is a musical madman. A true innovator and outlier when it comes to playing the guitar. If you are not familiar with his bands, I can assure you that you are familiar with his work in the pedal world. Nick is almost like the second generation of Tom Morello Mused players... This is a very insightful and fun conversation with a rare genius.
