If you're a drummer, you will love this talk... If you're not a drummer, you will love this talk.  Jean-Paul Gaster is a true madman behind the kit, and his resume speaks for itself. Jean-Paul is one of (if not the) greatest drummers of our time, and his band Clutch is creeping up on 30 years of unapologetic, pure rock fury.  I had a blast talking with Jean-Paul about his early days behind the kit, his constant thirst for a deeper knowledge of the instrument, how drums have changed the course of world history, and much much more.  Lots covered over a couple beers with this dude, and I am thrilled to share it with you. Be sure to check out clutchmerch.com for tickets to their last stream of the year, which takes place this coming Friday! Very excited about this episode. Clay Tarver has an incredibly impressive resume across several mediums...  You might know him for his innovative and angular guitar playing for bands like Chavez or Bullet Lavolta.  You might know him for his work on films like "Joyride".  Or maybe you know his work on hit shows like HBO's "Silicon Valley".  I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to pick his brain on all of those! The collaborative and creative process is a common theme in so many of these episodes, and this conversation dives right into an exploration of those across several mediums with a guy that has put out and produced some of the most engaging music, tv, and film over the years.   Chavez is currently celebrating the 25th anniversary of their seminal debut "Gone Glimmering", which is available via www.matadorrecords.com If you want to hear more fun stuff and take some deep dives with more of my guests, be sure to check out the Rigs of Dad Patreon page at www.patreon.com/rigsofdad OR just download the patreon ap, search for Rigs of Dad, and you can support creators like me and so many more in the process!   Big shout out to The Riverside Boys, and huge congrats on the release of their new album "Always in Trouble" available wherever you listen to music.
