Off the field, Hawk is known as a jovial larrikin, his fun, energy and zest for life has made him one of the most cherished characters within the AFL community. Of course, every persons story has its peaks and valleys, Doug is no exception, from being shown the door at his beloved Bulldogs, to growing up on the rough streets of Braybrook, his journey and subsequent approach to life is something to be admired.
