This past Friday we witnessed a heart-pounding game in the regular season finale of college football as NC State defeated North Carolina 30-27 in double overtime. Reese, K-Mac, & Pam share their reactions and we hear from the head coach of the Wolfpack Dave Doeren, along with the head coach for the Tar Heels, Mack Brown.

Yesterday we saw a variety of different games that had interesting outcomes in the NFL including the Browns defeating the Buccaneers, the Jaguars over the Ravens, and the Panthers also picking up another good win over the Denver Broncos. Reese, K-Mac, & Pam discuss which game surprised them the most out of the slated schedule.

It's that time of the college football season when rivalry games are upon us. NC State vs. North Carolina is one of the oldest rivalries in the ACC when it comes to football, dating all the way back to 1894. It's no question that wherever this game falls on the schedule, it's meaningful and this Friday the latest edition of this rivalry takes place in Chapel Hill at 3:30 PM on ABC. K-Mac, Pam, & Graham give their thoughts on the upcoming game.

K-Mac & Pam discuss the return of Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson to practice with the team yesterday for the first time since Aug. 30th. Watson will still be sidelined for two more games as he finishes out his remaining 11-game suspension before he officially returns to the field on Dec. 4th when the Browns face his former team, the Houston Texans.

K-Mac & Pam provide an update on the UVA shooting and what the team and other programs in the ACC are doing to raise awareness of the incident. Kyrie Irving is preparing to make his return to the Brooklyn Nets following his 5-game suspension, but is it too little, too late already for the Nets season already?

Monday night mistakes took place for the Philadelphia Eagles as they gained their first loss of the season at the hands of the Washington Commanders by a final of 32-21. K-Mac celebrates the win and discusses the momentum this can bring to the team moving forward. The Sports Shop always likes to have fun on the show, but a sad incident had to be addressed this morning as Dr. Stroman, a University of Virginia alumn joins Reese, K-Mac, & Pam to share her thoughts on the recent shooting that took place on campus late Sunday evening.

The State Farm Champions Classic takes place tonight for college basketball as we have a doubleheader slate taking place on ESPN. The first game is #4 Kentucky vs. Michigan State, and the night capper is #7 Duke vs. #6 Kansas. Reese, K-Mac, & Pam discuss how this game will be the first big test for this Blue Devils team in the Jon Scheyer era. We keep the topic of college basketball going as former NC State and NBA player Clarence "Chucky" Brown joins the show to preview his St. Augustine Falcons' upcoming season.

Last night the Carolina Panthers had an impressive showing against the Atlanta Falcons as they picked up a 25-15 victory on Prime Video. PJ Walker played well, the run game was solid, and Carolina overall looked like a team we could be proud of. Reese, K-Mac, and Pam discuss what's been the difference in the organization since interim head coach Steve Wilks took over the team.

Bradley Chubb was traded to the Miami Dolphins, and Nyheim Hines was traded to the Buffalo Bills. They also provide a quick recap of Game 3 of the World Series as the Philadelphia Phillies shut out the Houston Astros 7-0. As always there's more to the story with James White and in honor of the World Series taking place, he discusses the lack of African Americans taking an interest in the sport of baseball.

Yesterday, the first college football playoff rankings were released and you don't have to look far to find out the reasoning behind the selections as NC State AD Boo Corrigan is a part of the committee and we hear his thoughts on what went into the picks. Reese, K-Mac, and Pam give their thoughts on the first initial poll. Also, Takeoff who is a member of the hip-hop group Migos was shot yesterday morning in Houston and unfortunately passed away. Jackson State will be in Houston this weekend, for their game against TX Southern and because of the recent events, Head Coach Deion Sanders banned his team from leaving their hotel, but for good reason.

Reese and K-Mac discuss the last day for teams to acquire players as part of the NFL trade deadline which concludes this afternoon. They suggest teams who might be desperate enough to add a new player to their roster or acquire future draft picks. Also, with the college basketball season quickly approaching the Sports Shop welcomes CL Brown for the return of his segment, shoot around. He discusses what he's looking for out of the local ACC teams.

As always, every Monday The Sports Shop with Reese, K-Mac, and Pam Thompson Smith review the good looks and the bad looks of the previous weekend when it comes to college and NFL football. The good look this week is North Carolina defeating Pittsburgh 42-24 at home and now moving up to No. 17 in the top-25 polls. The bad looks are the Carolina Panthers losing to the Atlanta Falcons37-34 in overtime off two missed kicks and a costly mistake by DJ Moore.

As always, every Thursday the Sports Shop gets a chance to dish it up with Dr. Deborah Stroman. This week, Dr. Stroman discusses recent comments from Magic Johnson regarding Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and how he's suffering from “old man bitterness” as LeBron James edges closer to breaking Abdul-Jabbar's all-time leading scoring record. Last night the Houston Astros defeated the New York Yankees 4-2 in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series. The San Diego Padres defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 8-5 in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series to even things up at 1-1. Last night was also the second night of the NBA 22-'23 season. The Sports Shop discuss some of the players that caught their attention early including former Duke Blue Devil Palo Banchero in his NBA debut for the Orlando Magic.

Reese and K-Mac celebrate their fellow co-host Pam Thompson Smith's birthday throughout the show. As always, every Wednesday the Sports Shop is joined by James White for More To The Story. This week he takes us back in time in honor of Pam's birthday in order to set up the significance of a certain college homecoming game that is getting ready to take place.

Reese, K-Mac, & Pam discuss the NCAA men's basketball top-25 preseason poll which was released yesterday. Three teams from the ACC landed preseason rankings including 18th-ranked Virginia, 7th-ranked Duke, and sitting on top of the preseason poll, the North Carolina Tar Heels. We go back to the 2022 ACC Tipoff to hear from the head coach of the Tar Heels Hubert Davis, along with Armando Bacot and Caleb Love. We also hear from the new head coach of the Duke Blue Devils Jon Scheyer, and fellow ACC head coaches, Kevin Keatts of NC State and Mike Brey of Norte Dame.

The Denver Broncos received primetime coverage AGAIN last night for Monday Night Football as they lost to the Los Angeles Chargers 19-16 in OT. Reese, K-Mac, & Pam discuss if the head coach of the Broncos, Nathaniel Hackett is in over his head this season and when are they going to stop letting Russ try to cook. Also, there are two big HBCU games coming up this weekend that Reese and K-Mac are trying to figure out which should be attended. JSU vs. Campbell, or NCCU vs. SC State?
